Hey everyone- what a lovely day!:D
Ive spent the day chilling in my sisters garden, keeping regularly topped up with suncream, and have definately got a bit of sun! I was careful though and made sure I had a strapless top! I do tan quite easily so Im hoping we have the odd bit of sun every now and then so I can just get a bit of colour, and get my skin exposed a bit so I dont burn as soon as we get to Turkey!!
SKS- I really like the shoes, and its great they are so comfy. and well done on getting your underwear.
Im amazed- Ive worn a strapless bra all day and its actually been really comfy, the lady doing my alterations said I should go braless but Im not sure yet, at least if I know I can be comfy in a strapless bra all day.
Wanchai- Im not sure I would use her, was she recommended to you? If so I would be tempted to give her another chance, if she wasnt I would find someone else.0 -
I'm trying to avoid all sun lol. Worried that even if I go strapless that any strapless top will be higher up than my dress and I'll still have a line just a horizontal one lol. Especially on my back - I can gauge where it is on my boobs but not on my back. Easier to just avoid it rather than going topless everywhere hahahaaaa.0
-
My dress has a straight neckline, and the back isnt any lower I wouldnt way than a boob tube so I think Ill be ok.
Well Ive just been on a roll and ordered:
Best man tankard
flowergirl teddy
3 lots of ribbon to go on cars (ohs stepdads, my sisters and one spare)0 -
I must admit I want something weddingy to do. But there isn't much I can do.
Really my office/wedding room could do with a good clear out/organise but I can't be bothered to do that - maybe I'll get that done sometime this week - it's usually a job I do during the big school holidays - spend the term making a mess, spend the holiday's tidying it up lol. But during the party Bun is going to be locked away in there so it needs to be organised ready for him. (He's in a grump cause he can't go play in the garage cause Mark has the garage door open - Bun usually pops in the back door to it :rotfl:).0 -
Hmmm Wanchai - tricky situation with the make up. If your not happy I'd just cancel. I had a trial once at John Lewis. I looked like a clown!! So much eyeshadow I could peel it off. H2B laughed when I got home so I'm going to do my own. I'm playing with foundations at the moment. Although I've caught the sun this weekend (yay!) and may need a different shade now.
Love the shoes Janet! And how exciting having your dress home.
Had a fab lazy weekend in the garden. H2B confessed he's getting excited about the wedding now. He's being very loving and attentive, flowers, meal out and been doing my housework!! Ahh he's a keeper. X0 -
Forgot to say the house sounds like its really coming together now Natalie.
I don't know what me, Emma and Rachel are going to do when you guys all get married first and go off on your honeymoons. We'll be left waiting til the of July!!0 -
I was saying to Emma the other day - you had all better be online on the morning of my wedding!! Because I *WILL* be coming online and going eeeeeeeeee!!
(My mum is staying over the night before but I don't expect her to wake up till 11ish, where as I'll be lucky to stay asleep till 6!!) And of course I will be posting between the wedding and the party, infact I think the only time I won't be posting is when I'm on Honeymoon!!

Hello everyone, sounds like it's been a good weekend all round.
MrsDrink your letters look so fab painted - I love them even more now! The house sounds like it's coming along brilliantly, and the great thing is you can enjoy all the improvements for a long time afterward, long after the ribbons and knick-knackery we've all been planning are long-forgotten!
Smithkinson - Great news that your dress is all done and fitting well :jI read your description of the shoes and thought "hmm, they don't sound so great" - then I saw the pictures and they look really lovely! I guess you're not too enamoured with them, but they are really sweet.
PinkPrincess - your sister's shoes are cute too - it made me laugh the way she's not allowed heels. Luckily my BMs are short-stacks like me!
FutureCooper - it's very cute your OH is getting excited about the wedding. I'll be one of the late July brides too - getting wed on Sunday 22 and jetting off on Tuesday 24.
The tan update is I think I'm going to pass on the fake tan on the day. It has evened out my skin tone on my arms, but it's just one more hassle to have the stuff on for 6 hours two days before the wedding, and it impacts the timings for waxing, stops you from exfoliating afterward or swimming... I'm sure I'll be faffing about whether I get a spot and or break a nail - there's only so much space my brain has for vanity thoughts!
Wanchai - did you tell your make up artist you weren't keen on it at the time? I told mine straight which bits I didn't like, and she rubbed them off and did it again until I was happy. It's one of those things where you can picture it, but it's hard to articulate to someone else - have you ever played that game where you have to tell someone else what to draw, but you can't draw anything? Mind you, my MUA said pick a picture you like out of this book - I picked one wearing barely any eyeshadow, and she slathered it on me...
Anyway, if it's the colour she used or how much she put on, it might be worth a second trial. If you think her kit is no good, you could either take along particular bits you want her to use, or cut your losses and find someone else. I think I'll take my own mascara, which is good for contact lenses because it has no 'bits.' Just make sure you're happy with who you have booked for the day - you don't want to be worrying about it.
I really must stop these epic catch-up posts!0 -
Argh- I want to have my hair cut back to its normal length- its driving me mad! Plus I have bad roots and am waiting another 2 weeks before I dye it so it ties in with the wedding!
Mel- :j on your h2b getting all excited.
Oh where has the weekend gone??? Roll on a nice long weekend next week!!:D0 -
Morning ladies . . . . got that real excited wedding buzz today. (It must be catching Natalie!!) I think its because my best friend is getting married next week on Jubilee Monday. We have spent so much time together planning and talking weddings and now its nearly here. We have lovingly called her wedding the trial run for mine.
I couldn't sleep last night with a combination of worrying about work stuff, wedding and heat so i sat and put together a list of things i want to achieve next week while i'm on half term:
Jam jars and tins - glue lace/ribbon/buttons etc
Make 42 place cards and glue thank you wording.
Make paper pom poms to hang from the beams
Print and frame poem for the cake table
Put wine charms, cards and chocolates in the favour bags and attach labels.
Take photos and share with the other brides!!!!!!0
