Wanchai - I would send her an email - explaining how the make up lasted and how you felt wearing it for a period of time. Which given this is your wedding make up is important as you'll be wearing it all day. That'll give her the opportunity to right it, i.e. another trial so you can be confident. If she doesn't come up with the goods I would probably look for someone else to do it. Where did you find her? Is there anyone who could make a recommendation? Perhaps put a call out on here and see if anyone local to you knows someone who uses the brands you want.
SK- Yaaaaaaaaaaay at finding a pair of 'acceptable' shoes and undies!!
What am I doing up so early on a Sunday? Off to make some bubbles with our local dive club in the pool0 -
Natalie - thanks, will do. I feel bad emailing rather than calling, but I think that I'll be able to express it all better in an email. Maybe I'll follow it up with a phone call. She was so lovely, I don't want to offend her - but I really hated it. I can't look like that on my wedding day!!!

If that's how you feel wanchai then I probably wouldn't bother with another trial, I'd just cancel her. You have to feel happy about it. Just because sues a lovely person isn't reason enough to stay. If your cakemaker was a lovely person, but she baked cakes like burnt sawdust, you would move on wouldn't you?0

These are the shoes: http://www.marksandspencer.com/Peep-Floral-Corsage-High-Shoes/dp/B003MKF3NE?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_41&nodeId=74435031&sr=1-41&qid=1335052185
They are a bit strange as they are peep toe but you can't actually see my toes. I don't see how anyone's toes would 'peep' out of that hole. They are really comfy though and a great fit. Easy to walk in too with the chunky heel.
This is the underwear: http://www.bravissimo.com/products/lingerie/strapless-bras/evie-bridal-bra/ivory/pnn2iv/?show=16&sort=1&level=1
I'm going to have to wear the bra in a bit I think. I haven't worn a strapless bra in years and gosh they feel tight.0 -
Oh, those shoes are lovely!!! Love the corsage
You're right, but I feel that I should give her another chance maybe. I'll just explain to her the types of makeup that I really rate and say that the Clinique base didn't last well, and that I didn't like the eyeshadow etc. But I will look for another MUA in the meantime.7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

Personally I wouldn't use her again, wanchai. She obviously didn't read your needs very well and you were misled about what she had available. Have you thought about just doing your own make up? I know my suggestions are normally for cheapskate reasons, but if you have a specific way that you want to look you will always have the best idea of that. You could take a trip round the nearest John lewis, get loads of samples and play around with your own look? (Then when you've found qhat you want go back with different hair and glasses and get more samples to use on the day lol!) XxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0

All of a sudden from no where I've got butterflies!!
Soooooo excited!! Cannot wait to our wedding!!
Well the dinning room is so close to being ready for painting. The walls just need a quick sand, and a double check to make sure all the cracks have been filled. The stairs are ready to go. The landing just needs the lights fitting, one wall has a massive crack that needs sorting out, the coving needs completing and the skirting boards need filling. I expect by the end of half term these two rooms should be finished :T. Then all that will be left is the downstairs toilet - which we've pretty much got everything we need, tiles are on order. The kitchen - just needs a really good clean and some tiles need sorting (popping off one wall to place on another then white washing the popped off wall). Then there is the garden - finish transplanting the grass (when this heat has subsided) and lay the patio down. Lol - written down it seems like loads - but it's not. HonestIt's all doable!!

(sorry to butt in on this thread, although I'm not until April 2013 I can't help but lurk in the sooner threads too!)
Are you planning on changing to Mrs at school straight away? I've already spoken to my school and been advised that as my wedding is in the Easter holidays halfway through the school year, I won't be able to change my name until the following academic yearI mean obviously I can ask to be called it but email address, letters, website etc won't change.

Well as there will only be 1 school day after I'm married I'm waiting till September so it's slightly different. Shame your school aren't being supportive if you wanted to change your name officially.
Well I have taken an Asda shop - and they have brought me the tinned items for our buffet. (Grand total of £10.82 lol). I figure if I can buy these little bits now, even though the accounted for in the spreadsheet, we won't notice the money 'missing'. Have around £180 left to spend on food. £250 on the ceremony. £40 ish on the cheesecake ingredients. £30 (although I think it was £20) on getting my ring plated. And £80 on my hair. Then EVERYTHING (apart from the photos for our parents) will be paid for!! WOW!! :T It is no wonder I'm feeling all excited!!0
