smithkinson - they're really making you jump through hoops at the registry office aren't they? We didn't need any birth certificates to register ours.
I just had my facial at my local salon where I normally get anything done. They tend to cost £40-£50 for an hour. I think it's partly just massaging your face for an hour, as well as the actual stuff they use, that makes your skin look good. Maybe the MSE alternative is persuade your OH to do it for you!
I need my full birth certificate and my mum's full birth certificate as I don't have a valid passport currently. I had her short one, but they didn't tell me it had to be her full one , so I couldn't give notice (OH did, I didn't) and she had to apply for it and now I'm going back next wednesday to give notice.
I think I will try a diy facial. They sound lovely, but I don't think I could justify the spend. Best not ask OH to 'give me a facial'.. not sure that would work out the way I hoped0 -
So OH left for his stag (long) weekend early this morning. I feel sick!
I trust him and I know he is sensible, but his mates are all effin' idiots and he is easily led...
I have unsubscribed from all his friends on fb for now as they have been doing a running commentary and I don't want to be seeing that all weekend while I'm trying not to think about it and have a nice time in Newcastle.
And I know this is OTT as he is only away for 4 days, but this will be the longest that we have been apart in nearly 7 years. Aw man...:(0 -

You've reminded me we still need to sort out OHs ring. It's probably one of the most important things left to do and I haven't got it on my list!
My mum's full birth certificate arrived today so I'm all set to give notice next wednesday. It will feel really real then!
I've never had a facial before, but they sound nice. How do you find somewhere good to go? Are they expensive?
I know!!!! It nearly killed me getting up this morning, but it was so worth it. Mind you, my bum muscles really hurt after (1) the squats with weights at yesterday's session and (2) the bike ride last night, so I begged them to do upper body stuff only this morning. :rotfl:
YAY! OH's ring fits him, and it was only £5 on eBay! :T It looks like platinum and he only has to wear it for one day. One more thing ticked off!
I only buy facials on Groupon and the like. Too dear otherwise! I recently had a 1-hour Dermalogica facial for £12!I've bought lots of cheap deals for pre-wedding pampering: microdermabrasion, salt scrub, massage, facial, eyebrow threading and tinting, seaweed wrap and gel manicure/pedicure! Just need to get all the appointments booked and I'm set!

Oh, have a hug. I'm sure he won't get up to anything dodgy, try not to worry and have a lovely weekend in Newcastle
My OH says that he doesn't want a stag do, but has agreed to go for a few drinks some night before the wedding with all his mates (er, that SOUNDS like a stag do!!!). :rotfl:7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

Once you get to Newcastle you'll be fine, i'm sure. Good idea to switch off his friends for a while you don't need the worry. Men are such boys at heart.

Sounds just like my H2B . . . . ."oh i'll just have a few drinks one night", has now turned into staying at his mates overnight and creating an event page on fb! Men!!

Hello girls,
Congrats on more exercise efforts wanchai. Tan update here;)
It's roasting! My poor OH is in his very warm workplace. I have a cheeky chocolate caramel magnum waiting for him when he gets back - don't tell my waistline!
Well, it wasn't too embarrassing standing in my knickers doing John Wayne poses! It was the same lady who used to wax me for years before I got lasered, so not a complete stranger. Beauticians must get lessons in how not to make mainly naked people nervous! I looked darker straight away - you could see a knicker line. mine was apparently a beach bronze european gold, not an unreal tan. The colour does look how I would look after a long summer on the beach - if I ever spent a long summer on a beach!
It isn't at all streaky, but it is a bit darker on the dry skin on my calves and a little on my knees. My legs look a bit like I'm wearing tan coloured tights, and my face is never normally this dark - I'm used to seeing dark hair and a white face when I look in the mirror! I still have a pink v on my back...
I'm not convinced I'll go for it for the wedding - maybe it's just one more thing to faff with? I think hair and make up and veil and tiara and flouncy dress might be quite enough going on!
Anyway, I'll see how I get on this weekend - I have a white bedroom, so I'm pleased I'll be on hotel sheets tonight, not ruining mine if any comes off!
Have a good weekend all, I'm off to visit the outlaws.0 -

Yay for ruining hotel sheets and not your own!!! :rotfl:
Thanks for the congrats - although I think my family is having a BBQ this evening, so that's the 'no drinking and no eating crap' thing out the window! I really am going to try to drink less and resist the fatty stuff. Ohhh, I would LOVE a Magnum right now!!!

ooh Babyboots . . . . keep me informed on the tan. Thanks for being the July bride guinea pig!!!!!
So what loose clothing are you wearing today? I have a maxi dress i was going to wear but i'm worried the shoulder straps will rub the stuff off before i 'set'. I have read too much on the internet and its put me off a little. Like the story of wearing pant liners under your armpits as the tan colour comes off on your clothes days later if you sweat at all. Not that i am a sweaty gal but still! Eeww.0 -
I would wear dark clothes for several days just in case!!! How would you even wear panty liners under your arms? What would you stick them to? and also :rotfl:7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs
