A theme is fine - the main thing is that it's easy to do - she bought all the stuff to do Fred and Wilma Flintstone but her sewing machine chewed up the fabric and she's got no more time to make anything now, and no morey to buy anything! The party is Saturday night. I like the idea of Where's Wally, I know she's got a red and white tee shirt too lol! Will pass it on, thank you!

Ok, themes I can think of that can be done with everyday clothes:
    gangsters
    geeks
maybe golf (with a kids plastic golf set, cheap visor etc)
    Cowboys/ cowgirls
    Army theme

    I am still thinking!

Mel - I agree - it has to be read out at the reception :)

    It's this one
That is a beautiful ring - really like the design of it.

right - a friend needs some help - emergency fancy dress party!
Mary Poppins and Burt? Does she have a black trench coat, and a skirt with loads of netting/layering? Does he have a dustmans jacket (not sure what the proper style is)? Some black make up smudged all over him. If they don't have some sweep brushes make one out of rolled up paper and paint/colour black. Umbrella for her. :) Bobs your uncle. :)

James Bond and Miss Moneypenny? Just a suit for him and black skirt and white blouse for her :) Oh and a toy gun and maybe some sexy specs!

I've been laid up with a cold - boo! Hoping to feel well enough to play in a competition on Saturday, so taking it easy today, pottering about and trying to tick a few things off the household and wedding to do lists. And catching up with what you guys have been up to obviously!

wanchai - did you have a nice meal with MIL and OH?

jemb- I think that link with your photos might be restricted to your friends only - you'd have to change the settings on the album to public for us to see them.

Ghostlove - I know what you mean about juggling. I'm trying to progress my final masters research project, combined with a busy job, ill relatives, trying to get fit, and my sister and baby niece are about to come from abroad and stay for two months in the lead up to the wedding. I've never met my baby niece (4 moths old), so I really want to make time for them too. Nothing for it, but to keep calm and carry on, eh? I guess it's hard to remember, as much as we want to look beautiful and for everything to go perfectly, it's actually vows and a party, not an exam! :p

PinkPrincess - puddings - your ideas sounds great. Eton mess, tart tatin, creme brulee and lemon posset are all good summer puds - and almost everyone likes chocolate something!

FutureCooper - love the football letter idea. I asked OH's team to send a telegram/letter too - how long did yours take to arrive? I do like your idea of having it framed (I hope they do send one to me!) It's traditional for telegrams from absent guests to be read out during the speeches, so if I get one I'll give it to the best man to mention in his speech.

smithkinson - ace that your dress is ready.:j

Some good news in this morning's post. An RSVP yes from a couple (including a gift), and also a contribution from the tax man to the honeymoon - a PAYE refund cheque! :money:

Yes thanks BabyBoots - it was lovely, and I managed not to overindulge!!! :o Sorry to hear that you've got a cold, YAY for your tax refund :j and  at all that you have to do between now and the wedding!!! I should count myself lucky that I am just working 9-5 and don't have any DIY or coursework or exams on top!

smithkinson - your ring is beautiful xxx

I have been having cold sweats about how much I have to do, I am in the middle of drawing up a timetable for the next 8 weeks so that I don't miss anything!!! I *will* get organised if it kills me!

Oh, and I have been on eBay :D I've bought 3 beautiful beach dresses for the honeymoon, and an Irish sixpence for my shoe. 99p delivered - brilliant!

    9 more Fridays!!

Babyboots - I sent the letter with a self addressed envelope on the Monday and it arrived back on my mat on the Saturday!

Thank you all for saying 'reception', I was hoping you would say that . . . i would like to see his face (and his dad's). I'm going to look for a frame in the team colours and then i'll present it during the speeches. We aren't having traditional speeches as I don't have a dad and H2B chose not to have a best type man. My son (19) is kind of doing the job but he is to shy to stand and speak yet my daughter (BM, 17) wants to do a speech!! I dread to think what she might say.

I can not believe how time is flying. I need to seriously get my act together. I haven't even thought about the items i need for the Honeymoon. I have a day to myself tomorrow so I shall take myself to the shops for honeymoon stuff. New underwear mainly :rotfl::rotfl:and suncream. Tesco have all there big brands half price at the mo. Ambre solaire, Garnier and Nivea all about £5.00 so i'll stock up now. Excited at the thought of it!!

babyboots- hope your feeling better soon. Whats the competition for? :j on the cheque from the tax office.

I looked last weekend and its scary how many weekends I actually have free between now and the wedding! I am lucky I work Mon-Friday 8-4, but there looks like we may have an extra project to do in June that will involve overtime- my bank balance could definately benefit from it, but the thought of another weekend taken away that could be doing weddign stuff does make me think

Well apparently my passport has been dispatched, and it says it should be about 4 days after that, so hopefully start of next week!!

Wancahi- where are you going on honeymoon?

I need to check with my mum is she thinks my little sister would prefer a trinket box or compact mirror, then hopefully I can order some gifts this weekend!

What is everyone up to this weekend?
