    Wow what a day!! :D
So I didn't get to bring my dress home - it still needs a few tweeks (a bit of netting is showing, and the lace is too long) but it looks amazing. I'm so much happier in it 11lbs lighter than last time I tried it on. The only problem I have now is the fine line between wanting to lose a little bit more weight and losing too much. I think another 4lbs is the maximum I should aim for. The V at the back is still wide at the top - so I think there is some scope there for a bit more weight loss, but the stomach area was a bit loose today (not overly - but it wasn't sucked tight so I couldn't breathe if you know what I mean).

AAAAAAAAAND my big brother has made our wooden letters and I love them!! He really is amazing. They are about 15-20cm tall, and are in the font of our invites - they are great!! :D VERY HAPPY!! Now just need to decide with MrD what colour to paint them then I can finish them off.
For those not on my FB (why not?!):

I like your letters :) Might have to rip you off there and make some myself lol!

I've had a busy but productive day - picked up my new replacement engagement ring from the shop this morning (but I will have to go back tomorrow because I ordered the original size but my fingers are not as fat any more :):(*confused* lol) It's amazing how bright it looks!

Been to the gym and done body combat, then picked up the Euros for holiday from the post office. Went into town and bought sweets for the favours, about 500 sweets cost £23, bargain! And have just been researching cheap business cards online to add a little tag to the favours. I'm going to set up a picasa account for people to upload any digital photo's I think, and put it on a little thankyou tag with the favours so people know where to put their photos.

I also had an eye test and I've had to buy new glasses. My current ones are about 8 years old but they have lasted so long because I hardly wear them, I go for contacts instead, so hopefully these new ones will last just as long!

Hope everyone has had a good day xx

Oh I would definitely recommend making your own - you can get them exactly how you want them. I don't know how much it cost my brother in terms of materials compared to buying off the shelf - but they are so much more individual to us I love them. And we've decided to paint them white :D

Fab news that your fingers have shrunk!! :)

I'm the same - my current optician is fab cause he understands I don't leave the house without my contacts in so there is no need to have incredibly sharp sight with my glasses - as long as they are legal they'll do. :D (I absolutely hate driving in them anyway)

Great letters Natalie! Glad you enjoyed seeing your dress again - it must feel like a great achievement to have lost that weight and be feeling good in your dress! Well done! :T

My dress fitting went well today - I'll still need at least another 2, but it was good to see the progress and make some decisions on the toile before she makes the final lace layer. My little niece loved it and sat and drew a picture of me while the dressmaker was pinning things. she loved trying on her flowergirl dress too - it looked so cute!

Sounds like you've had a productive day Mel - annoying that you couldn't take your replacement ring home though.

I'm gonna try to post some pics of my invitations in a bit...

I only have to wear a contact lens in one eye lol - the optician told me today that I am actually legal to drive without anything, but I told him I didn't like to because it's my left eye that's short-sighted so if I glance to the left to check my passenger mirror I can't see anything in it lol! I'd be fine in a foreign car haha!

Ah yes I think they will look nice in white :) Where are you going to put them? If I do make some I'll just use up stuff out of the scrap wood bin at work, environmentally friendly and cheap! Saves people taking it home to put on the fire which is what normally happens to it!

I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to lose too much weight - it's such a dilemma for me because I should (and want to) lose more weight (21lbs now!) but as the dress already needs taking it I don't it to look ridiculous, but equally I don't want to break the good habits I've got into!

I've just set up a Photobucket account for the wedding photos :) When there is actually something on there I will let you all know the login for it, I'm going to give it out with the favours so that people can upload their own pics to it. How many actually will, I don't know!

Also I am currently in the middle of designing the order of services to give out at the church. Unfortunately I am having to use publisher (grrr awful program) because I don't have any proper design software on my home computer. But it's a fairly simple design so it's still working ok. Also watching the football, yay! Rooting for Bayern as that's where my family are from! xx

I'm not sure what I'll do with the letters once we're actually married - but I think I will put them on the window sill they're on in the photo on the day of the party. They were going to stand up at the back of the buffet table - but if they are going there really they should be burgundy. We're off to B&Q tomorrow so I'll see what colour I end up with ha!

They do look nice there on the windowsill, would they be a bit hidden behind the buffet? Either would look nice but would burgundy make them stand out from the background a bit more?

After you are married you should buy a backboard and paint it whichever colour they are not, and glue them on and then put that in a frame :) You're allowed to keep it up for at least the first year of being newlyweds lol!

    xx

If they stay on the window sill I was thinking white would show up better against the darkness of the window (we generally never shut the curtains). I do like the idea of gluing them to a board - in that case they'd be burgundy on a white back ground. Oh decisions decisions!!

Ah yeah I didn't think of how it would look at night time lol! Mind you you could always paint them white for the wedding then burgundy later! x

I have been advised (read *ordered by mother* :p) that we need to have a postbox type thing for people to put cards in.

Me being me, I refuse to pay for something so simple - does you people think that one of the boxes that reams of A4 paper come in will be big enough?

Obviously I will cover it and tart it up a bit, not just leave it out as it is! xx
