I don't know if she still does it - but Patsy Palmer used to do some - I used it before and found it was a nice light brown rather than fake looking. But it was a long time ago.0

jemb - congratulations - how did the big day go?
wanchai - Well done on completing all those wedding tasks - that's a fair few veils you went through! You're not the only one with blotchy upper arms - mine are pink and blotchy like sausages. I'm hoping they might improve with better circulation from more exercise.... I never wear fake tan and am pale, so I'm contemplating a subtle fake tan - maybe just the garnier holiday skin moisturiser? Or covering my arms with the veil!:rotfl:
MrsD - just go out in the sun again with a strapless top, and put cream on the red bits, not the white bits - you'll soon even out!;)
We've pretty much picked all our ceremony music.:) OH picked one piece and agreed with mys uggestions for the others! We have one reader and a choice of two readings, but we like them both and so does the reader. I just need to check how long a prelude we need (will ask the venue), and am wondering whether to put this on a separate CD, so no-one can play the wrong track for the processional! We have chosen our witnesses too, so will start filling in the ceremony forms ready to send off this week.0 -
Ha ha ha! Don't worry, I have PLENTY of wedding stuff to do still, and I am going to do as much exercise as humanly possible as well! I'm not happy with my flabby arms at all, and seeing myself in the dress again was just the motivation that I needed! WI tomorrow!!!
Oooh, thanks for the warning, not that it was needed here yesterday, the weather was awful! It's nice and sunny today though.
Quick question: is everyone who wants a tan for their wedding faking it, or are any of you going to try to tan naturally? I'm a lifelong stay-out-of-the-sun gal, but I am tempted to try to get a light tan naturally rather than mucking about with risky fake tans.
Also, can anyone recommend a really good fake tan that just gives a subtle colour and isn't orange-toned?
Emma - hope you had a lovely weekend reunion with your OH xxx
I've been trying Palmers Cocoa butter gradual tanner - it's a nice brown (rather than orange) colour (on me anyway) but you don't need much because it's more like a fake tan than a gradual tanner in the amount of colour it lays down. I haven't noticed it rubbing off on anything - the first time I tried it I put a bit too much on, went to bed with it slightly damp in cream sheets - woke up darker that I expected but not streaky and there was nothing on the bed covers. So so far, so good I've been pleased with it because if you put less on it comes out much paler. I am going to wear it with an old white teeshirt to the gym when I get a chance, that'll put it to the test!
I'm not a sun worshipper at all, I normally cover right up and stay out of it but like you I want something to take the edge off the whiteness of my arms!
Congratulations Mrs JemB!
I've got day one of the interview tomorrow - fingers crossed for me! xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
Oh forgot to say - thanks for the comments on the name thing! (I'm hoping that those of you who guessed it from the clues have guessed right when making your comments lol!)
I think I have decided that I will be Mrs K-T, but not sure whether OH will stay as Mr T (lol) or Mr K-T. Is it really bad of me, having said I don't want to lose my maiden name, to not want him to use it either lol! It's MINE dammit! (Well mine and my dad's lol)

Good Luck for tomorrow Mel!! xx (I so know how stressed you are probably feeling!!)
Oh and I don't think I ever said I think your names would be absolutely fine double barreledSorry I'm rubbish at keeping up unless I'm sat here typing away at the same time as you all....
Like Wanchai - I haven't commented on your birdcage table plan idea. My only worry with it is how hard the names are to read. You want people to go to it, spot their names almost immediately and move away so a massive queue/bottle neck doesn't form. As long as the font and signs you use are clear and easy to read I think it'd look fab and go well with your theme. (I think the one in that photo you posted would be too hard to read and not very practical - sorry! x)0 -
:j:jhad my dress fitting on Saturday. let's just say i don't think i'll be eating much on the day:rotfl:It just needs taking up on the length. DM said i don't need to wear a bra(!!) but if i'm still breastfeeding i will need to wear a bra and plus i think it would feel werid not wearing a bra!!
Don't think ive done anything weddingy.
Have my hair trial friday, suit fittings saturday and my sister and BM are having their hair trial sunday!
CONGRATULATIONS jemb PICTURES:D0 -
Hello!!! I went to the gym after work and pushed myself v. hard , so am feeling VERY smug and pleased with myself.
I need to keep this up for the next 8.5 weeks though
I treated myself to a soak in their jacuzzi afterwards, it's so soothing for my muscles, I love it!

Oooh yes, Palmer and Cutler! I remember that brand, haven't seen it in years though!jemb - congratulations - how did the big day go?

Tell me about it, I think I want a veil mainly to cover my arms from behind!!! :rotfl:
What are the two readings? xGood Luck for tomorrow Mel!! xx (I so know how stressed you are probably feeling!!)

We only have 100 guests though, and the table plan/birdcage will be outside the dining room, so they can browse it anytime before they go in.
Oh, that's another thing - table numbers or names??? If names, what will we have?

We've slipped onto page 2!!! :rotfl:
How is everyone today? I've been busy emailing all our suppliers to keep in touch with them, I still have sooo much to do, it's scary!
I am also having hair wobbles, I've seen a style that I prefer to my trial style, am also worried about the positioning of my veil depending on my hairstyle! Oh, we have little to worry about7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

Silaqui - hope interview day one went well today!
Wanchai - the readings are the Pasionate Sheperd to his Love by Christopher Marlowe and A Birthday by Christina Rosetti. Good work at the gym - my council leisure centre is disappointingly lacking in jacuzzis - must be the government deficit to blame!;) I'll be off to body balance tonight, and hopefully squeeze in some other classes later in the week.
Had a call from OH today to say one of the ushers found when he went in to get measured that the hire outfit we'd picked is not available in his size - something else to sort out! He's pretty normal sized, so hopefully we can sort it out. I'd better send my giant Dad in soon for his fitting!
I guess this has made me realise that even though I've ticked something off my list as decided on and fully paid for, doesn't mean that's the end of it! More of an incentive to get through my 'known' to-do list, in case more 'unknown' to-do tasks arise! I don't want to be panicking in those last few weeks...0 -
