July 2012 Brides and Grooms

Oh btw, I've had a VERY productive wedding weekend:

• Dress fitting yesterday - the DM was ill but my BM and I had a ball anyway, we pranced about in our dresses and had a good giggle! Must rearrange!
• Sorted out almost all the ceremony music - OH even helped! Still trying to decide my processional song!
• Decided on my veil - whoop!!!
• Booked my makeup artist - she's not cheap but hey, it's a one-off treat!
• Booked my gel manicure and pedicure :beer:
• Got samples of Xen Tan and Clarins tan and am going to try them both this week! Any other fake tan recommendations? I've also been scrubbing and buffing and body buttering like mad, esp my knees and elbows!
• Bought a few lovely bits on eBay for the honeymoon
• Went to see our wedding band perform last night - they even played our first dance song, I got a little emotional lol!
• Went to the gym and pool today for 3 HOURS, I feel soooo good! I am utterly determined to exercise like mad for the next 9 weeks, I WILL be a slim bride! Trying on my dress always gives me a little shot of extra motivation. I especially need to tone up, and lose fat from, my arms. I've been sooo good, if I haven't lost weight this week I'll be shocked!

I am knackered lol.

We've had about 45 guests RSVP already, I love getting them Only 3 'No' so far, but we knew that they couldn't make it, so no surprises.

OMG Natalie, your to-do list makes me feel faint!!! I still have so much to do, if I had to do DIY as well I'd never manage it! You are superwoman xxx

You have had a very busy weddingy weekend! At this rate there won't be anything left for you to do in the run up to the wedding!


Warning to all brides - ha!! Don't stay out in the sun without any suncream on. lol. Working outside in the garden all day yesterday I have lovely red bits. Oooops!! I'm going to be one of these brides with horrid tan lines.

Ha ha ha! Don't worry, I have PLENTY of wedding stuff to do still, and I am going to do as much exercise as humanly possible as well! I'm not happy with my flabby arms at all, and seeing myself in the dress again was just the motivation that I needed! WI tomorrow!!!

Oooh, thanks for the warning, not that it was needed here yesterday, the weather was awful! It's nice and sunny today though.

Quick question: is everyone who wants a tan for their wedding faking it, or are any of you going to try to tan naturally? I'm a lifelong stay-out-of-the-sun gal, but I am tempted to try to get a light tan naturally rather than mucking about with risky fake tans.

Also, can anyone recommend a really good fake tan that just gives a subtle colour and isn't orange-toned?

Wanchai - I am not going near any fake tans - I have nightmares of it rubbing off on my dress. I'm an 'avoid the sun at all costs' kinda girl too (my father died of a form a skin cancer). But I embrace my English Rose-ness so I really can't help!

I just want something to take the edge off my whiteness, I have quite blotchy upper arms so am very self-conscious about them I'm also terrified of it rubbing off, but am hoping to get one of the very subtle ones!

Could you get one of the body cream stuff that has tanning bits in like dove? (I'm not recommending that mind cause it stinks)

I've tried them all - Dove, Garnier, Johnson's etc, and they are all slightly orange. OK for a night out, but not for my wedding lol!! I might order the Fake Bake Fair stuff from Amazon (have TCB Amazon gift codes to use anyway) and try it.
