:T:T I will be thinking of you as I try my dress on!! What time is your appointment? We're booked in for 11am and then mum and I are off for lunch
Not till 3pm - I'm bringing my sister and my little niece who is my flowergirl. She will just burst with excitement! She thinks it is her day! :rotfl:So cute! Hope you have a lovely time with your mum! It will be so nice for you to have it hanging up at home and be able to take a sneaky peak whenever you want!
I was walking home from the shops today and saw a wedding at a beautiful venue along the road from me. The bride was just getting out of the car with her dad and her bridesmaid was standing watching with the little flowergirl saying 'look there's your auntie now!' and I was thinking about how that will be all of us soon! It made me feel a bit emotional! Lol! :rotfl:0 -

My dress is going to my mum's home to be hung up until the Saturday before the wedding - lol with all the DIY we're doing there is no way I'd have the dress here - lol there is dust EVERYWHERE

Yeah we are the same! We painted the hall last weekend and did the first coat on the living room this week. My folks are coming to stay with us tomorrow to help us finish the painting and my Dad will be helping OH to wallpaper in the living room bedroom and guest bedroom/wedding stuff room! :rotfl:It is a lot of work, but will be worth it to have it all done before the wedding and Dad is awesome at wallpapering so we should get it done in no time! The only thing we are leaving til after the wedding is the kitchen because we could really do with a full new kitchen and we can't afford that right now so that will be our savings goal for after the honeymoon.
We will both be starting married life with newly done up homes! Feels good!0 -
Comiserations on the interview results MrsDrink - these things always turn out for the best though. I'm going to have to listen to that version of the R.E.M. track - I'm a big fan! Well done for getting all the ceremony music sorted.:T
Silaqui - I think your surname then his double barreled sounds lovely. They're short enough names - your two will be as long as my one new surname! If I were to double barrel our names (i'm not going to) I'd want him to do it too, else I think people would just use his (everything would be addressed to Mr & Mrs A, not Ms B-A and Mr A! I think people would see the single barreled name as the 'real' name). Obviously that's just my opinion, and you'll do whatever makes you two happy! Glad you have your ring sorted too.
Ooh PinkPrincess - your hen night is the same as mine! Well your one on the 23rd is, I guess it's not that much of coincidence, as you have three! :rotfl:M&S do nice compact mirrors that aren't too heavy - some I've seen are so heavy you wouldn't want to cart them around in a little handbag!
It does feel like there's lots to do, doesn't it? I have barely any free weekends left, and i may have to visit ill relatives in the two I currently have free, so I'll really try to get the ceremony admin sorted tomorrow. Also, I really don't want to feel behind with my studying when I go on honeymoon (don't want to feel guilty), and I must keep up the the exercising too... and fit in the beauty sleep somewhere amongst the wedding planning!
Good luck with the DIY MrsDrink and lovecake - at least that's one thing I don't need to do!0 -

Oh thanks for the suggestion, just looked online and theres a lovely butterfly compact mirror, Ill have to try and pop instore to see what it look like in real life, but online it looks really nice. The one on the 23rd Im really looking forward to, my friends are planning it and I dont know what it being planned, plus its my birthday the ext day so it will be an extra celebration. WHat are you doing for yours?
It does feel like there is so much to do, I need to make sure I dont put everything off and then end up rushing round at the last minute (like I did for every single uni assignment!!:rotfl:). Oh has asked today what else we need to do this weekend so im hoping hes keen to help out!!
Goodluck with the decoration Rachel and Natalie, I think next year will be our turn to redecorate! Ill leave it to oh though!!:D
I keep thinking its Sunday today! Its a rather nice feeling when I realise it isnt!!:rotfl:0 -
Well it's very quiet in here today!! Hope you are all enjoying this sunny weather!!
So far today I have:
* Cleaned the tiles surrounding the hob in the kitchen, floor to ceiling (they were disgusting). Think we'll be able to tidy up the kitchen into a presentable state without doing too much extra.
* Mowed the front and back lawns (2 days of no rain thought I'd better make the most of it).
* Watched/helped/encouraged MrD to chop/dig up the old tree/bush stumps at the back of the garden and then begun to fill the holes back in.
Jobs left to do today:
* Sand and paint one spot of filler in the lounge.
* Investigate what to do around the french doors (they flex as the doors are slammed shut - we did have decorators chaulk on the join between the doors and the wall, but as the doors flex this has cracked where the chaulk meets the wall - if that makes sense).
* Do the clothes washing! (Must remember this!)0 -
:j I have pants!! And they were a bargain at £5 (plus £1 parking back so £4). So glad I didnt confirm the figleaves order I almost placed the other day as they were £15 inc p and p.
I had a look around for gift ideas, and am still just as stuck as I was yesterday!
For those having a table plan: Are you making your own? Im undecided whether to make my own (which could involve another fall out with the printer that hates me!! :rotfl:) or pay out for one or whether to go for the middle option which is someone does the actual printing part and then I can then stick it on card and decorate with my butterflies!0 -
If we were having one I would want to make it myself. But that's just cause I'm crafty and have made everything else.

I think Im going to go for something like this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Personalised-Wedding-Seating-Table-Plan-/190464118311?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Celebrations_Occasions_ET&hash=item2c588bce27#ht_1532wt_754
I will have it with pink backing and then I can mount it on some ivory card and put my little butterflies on it. I am hoping to be able to do my own place name cards and I think they will take a while and a lot of patience with the printer so Im thinking if I go with the table plan above it will be one less to worry about.0 -
Well done MrsD on the housework and gardening. I cleared all the honeysuckle and cotoneaster from the front window yesterday, hung out all the laundry to dry and did a little weeding today. If I spend too long out in the back garden it puzzles me - I've lived here nearly two years and can't work out where to put a patio and what size/shape it should be. It's quite small and doesn't really get the late afternoon/evening sun much, but there's a couple of trees I'd like to keep and have to work around.... anyway that's a project for after the wedding!
PinkPrincess - what can I say - happy pants-wearing!:rotfl:
We don't have much money in the budget for a table plan, so i'll definitely be making it (and that's I not we, I don't think OH wants to get involved!) I think I'll have to print the actual list of names on regular office paper, and stick that to coloured card rectangles, to stick on a mount board. I'm hoping inspiration will strike before I get round to doing this. All I've thought of is sticking on roses, swans, butterflies or having the background as a map, as our table names are places. Before that, everyone has to jolly well reply though!0
