Sorry I haven't written much this week - I have either been too stressed or too emotional (didn't get either job).
On the plus side I have just confirmed our ceremony music. Soooo pleased!! As you know it's been a headache trying to get it sorted. I've put it on another thread so I won't repeat myself here.
Who was it getting their dress/having a fitting next Saturday?? That's the day I'm off to collect my dress :T!0 -
:T:T:j:T:T Oh is home!! This is me
. Im so happy to have him home. I am surprised though at how quickly the last 12 days have gone!!
Well I think im going to have a look in Matalan for some knickers! I almost ordered some in figleaves the other day but changed my mind, and then someone mentioned Matalan and online they have a few pairs that look nice, and they are really reasonable, so I think ill get some from there for the day, and then get some nice underwear for when we are home and for honeymoon!
Wanchai- I love the bag.0 -
Very exciting about your dress fitting Lauralou. Is it you that having one the same day Wanchai? Hope you both have fun.
Friday is my weekly weigh in and measure day, and I thought I'd share with you my results. After 4 months of trying to shift a bit of excess person, I have lost... 3lb. Not very impressive at all!
My other stats look like this:
Fat lost 6lb
Centimetres lost:
Bust 2 cm
Waist (smallest part) 4cm
Waist (belly button) 4cm
Belly (biggest part) nothing!
Muffin top 4.5cm
Bum 1.5cm
Thighs 4cm
My original aim was to lose another stone from today's weight by the wedding day. Having only lost 3lb in 4 months, a stone in 10 weeks seems very unlikely.
Having said that, I wasn't doing much exercise in the first few months, as I was working very long hours. I'm now managing 3 sessions a week, but hoping to see more improvement.
I guess my real aim is to look like my dress fits me (if any of your friends are ever in the same situation as me, choosing between two equally lovely sample dresses, tell them to pick the one that already fits!) and tone up the wobbly bits to look nice on honeymoon, so maybe I need a new goal that isn't based on my overall weight loss. I don't want to be feeling down on myself in the weeks before the wedding about being overweight. I know the calendar says I'm likely to be feeling hormonal the week before - bridezilla alert! :rotfl:
You've done really well to lose all those inches though even if you haven't lost as much as you wanted to in weight. I wish I'd have thought to measure myself before I started, I think I thought it would just be one of those diet failures lol!PinkPrincess83 wrote: »Goodluck with the weight loss baby boots- looking at your measurements it looks like your doing great.
0 more sleeps!:j I have no idea what time oh will be in, but I cant wait to see him!!
Well I tried on my wedding ring last night- and I still love it! I didnt want to take it off!!
Goodluck on your dress fitting LAuraL. (and Wanchai if yours is the same day).
Is anyone else well aware time is zooming by!!
Goodluck with the interview Mel.
I was trying to work out when to dye my hair to tie in with the wedding, I think ive decided Im going to try and wait another 4 weeks before I next dye it, then that will tie in with then doing it the week before the wedding! It will mean this time it will be 7 weeks but I would rather have roots than do it one extra time!!
Well what is everyone up to this weekend?
I heard back from the jeweller about my ring, apparently I knocked it so badly it's not cost effective to repair so they are going to replace it instead, but that means I will have to buy a new insurance policy.
So my weekend (which I did hope would be relaxing) consists of going to the jewellers first thing tomorrow morning, then body combat, then going into town to look for an interview outfit (because I can't just wear the other one I bought because I will need a different outfit for the two days ) then actually planning for the interview. I also have to order Euros (wooo:beer:)
thought I would get them now while the exchange rate is good
Anyone else got anythign planned?

Mel- i have no plans for the weekend, I plan on not doing much though, although I may go to the gym at some point.
Mel- thats a shame about your ring- will the new one be identical? Good luck with your interview and shopping for another outfit.
I habe been terrible foodwise today, I really need to get back on track with being good.0 -
Also, I have a question for anyone who has added me on facebook (if anyone hasn't and wants to feel free, just PM me!).
I am still faffing about what to do with my name once we get married. I could just bite the bullet and take his name, but I really don't want to lose my current name, it's mine and I've had it all my life!!
We've thought about double barrelling, but (and this is why you need to be on facebook!) what do you think of our two names together? I can't get past the fact that I think it sounds a bit odd, because mine's foreign and his isn't, but I work with someone called 'Mistry-Ward' and hers doesn't sound too bad... I don't know if ours goes though! For anyone not on facebook, my name is German for 'king' and his is Cheryl Cole's maiden name without the 'y' lol cryptic!
Also - what do men do when you double barrel? Do they just keep one or do they have the double name aswell?

Yes it's exactly the same style, just a new one. Apparently the cost has gone up by £100 since it was bought the first time, luckily I don't have to pay the difference though!

Mel- I think your names double barrelled would sound fine (although in my head I dont know if I pronounce your surname correctly). Whoses surname would you have first?
My ohs aunt married a spanish name and its spanish tradition to have a double barrelled name so she has a Spanish and English double barrelled name which I think sounds fine.
Its completely up to you and your partner what he decides to have as his surname, I know a couple of women with double barrelled and their husbands just have their one original surname, but I personally think it would be nice if they had both.
Personally, I cannot wait to have my ohs surname!0 -
So I started writing a post on here but got totally distracted!! Anyway here's what I wrote:Right back into the wedding swing of things. I have just reburnt the CD to send to the registry office with our music on - sooooo relieved to have that ticked off, and so pleased with our choice of music!
I'm going to repaint the lounge bits that I've filled today - see how it blends in with the rest of the wall paint - hopefully I won't need to repaint the whole thing!!
After I wrote that I went and repainted the lounge bits.It is coming along well. They will need a couple of coats to blend in properly but it's doing the job
Very happy. For the rest of the day I plan on sanding down the window boards ready for polyurethaning.

Silaqui - I'm keeping my surname. Mr Ghostlove is thinking about double-barrelling our names with mine first. I may or may not join him later on, but for now I'm sticking with just my name.
We sent off our form to the register office today, you know the one where you decide what your ceremony's going to be like. We're keeping it very simple; no rings, no readings, no music, because the big celebration is the handfasting afterwards.I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.0 -
That sounds like it was an easy job to complete GL! But I'm guessing you'll be having the same nightmare as we had over readings/music during your handfasting celebration?0
