Yes I have - it's miles too big now lol! My nan had a look at it on though and she says the construction makes it easy to alter so she's going to do that for me. I'm aiming to try and lose another half stone or so by the end of June then she will do me a 'final fitting' and I'll try and maintain then for the three weeks till the wedding.

The marquee will be fine, it's not quite what we wanted and a bit 'flouncy' for my taste but it'll do!

Haha do you have any specific knickers you are looking for (weird question lol!) I'm going to go underwear shopping in June, again for the weight loss reason - my boobs have shrunk by a good cup size :( - I've lost 20lb since Christmas.

Ah hopefully the stuff is your lovehearts! Me and OH have made a date to go sweet shopping in two weeks time for our favours :)

    xx

You have done amazing with the weight loss, Ive got stuck at about 12.5lb, ive been stuck around the same weight for ages now, but I think because my aim was to get a comfy size 12 and im that now Im stuck, really I would like to lose a bit more though!! Your so lucky Nan can take it in for you, that will save you quite a few pennies.

haha, who would have thought getting pants would be difficult!!:rotfl:

We went to see the venue today as the extension has ran into problems. They have had a survey done of the area and apparently there is some protected species of newt living in the area round the pub :rotfl: this has held the whole project up which means that the extension won't be finished in time for the weddings they've got booked in July - ooops!

So they are going to provide us with a solid floor marquee in the garden area at the back of the pub, with those funny window things things a bit like this. The inside will be a bit like this one, with the white chairs - he offered to provide chair covers but you all know my feeling on those awful things :rotfl:

I'm not a particular fan of the look but it's better than nothing, and we do get a £4000 marquee for nothing haha (and they include a dancefloor, which we didn't bother getting from the DJ company!). But me being me I laid it on thick and did the whole distraught bride thing :o:p and managed to get us the room hire knocked off (because we didn't *sob* want a marquee, we wanted a country pub...) and the Pimms reception drinks for free (Because you've been telling us for so long it would be ready, and now we have no time to find anywhere else, boo hoo...) :D damn I'm good... It's not like anybody is going to really care whether it's in a tent or a room! And the way it's positioned means that we still have the stream that runs through the garden right in front of the windows with outdoor seating next to it.

Well done on the waterworks :p. . . a good tug on someones heart strings often gets a girl a bargain! It isn't there fault but in the wedding business you can not change things around. You did get some good discounts and i am sure when it is all brought together you'll be happy on the day.

haha, who would have thought getting pants would be difficult!!:rotfl:

I'm really struggling too! I think i am going to go with my box standard comfy brazilian style during the day and then get a 'come and get me' pair for when we get back to the room. If i keep them in my clutch bag i can change into them in the loo's before 'husband' see's them at the bridal suite. :rotfl:

:j:j to all of you that have had fab weight losses. I'm still not focused again. It has been 3-4 weeks now  and I haven't gained though so thats a small bonus. Only 25 sleeps until my first dress fitting.

Come out Wanchai - we are waiting to here the details of your surprise hen weekend and good luck Natalie for this week's interviews.

I've been away for a while! Not doing anything fun, just lots of jobs around the house over the bank holiday. Canceled my order for the invitations too and ended up printing them myself but I'm pretty happy with them! Need to go and buy envelopes today or they will never get sent.

You won't be able to get the dress shortened without having your shoes, but as you say, just have a chat and see whether it's possible or not. So exciting!!!!

I've bought these two pairs of shoes:
    Ceremony and pics: http://www.next.co.uk/x494358s10#838143x49
    Reception: http://www.next.co.uk/x494388s8#838164x49

that's what I thought - no point buying shoes unless I know if it can be shortened or not - if it can't then I will need high platforms, if it can then I will go for lower heels for sure.

I like those two pairs, they were both on my shortlist but neither fit :(

I've just sat down to write the evening invitations but realised so many of my friends have moved house and I don't know all the addresses lol! So I think I will have to write the cards out and just put the names on the invitations then add the addresses later haha.
    xx

I had the same problem! Sat down to do some and realised I had hardly any addresses at all. So frustrating!

Natalie - I think that amount of food sounds fine. I always struggle with bbq's and end up over catering because I don't know what people are going to want. What about doing some pasta or something along side it? It could be in the fridge ready.

Mel - well done on your weight loss (and the same to everyone else! you're all doing so well!) and that's great that you got some extras at your venue. as long as you are still happy with how it is going to be then is sounds like a good deal!

underwear.. ugh! having the same problem! my dress is a bit lower at the back and I don't see how a strapless bra is going to work, as I'm sure it will show. I don't really want to go braless though, they aren't in their best condition as I'm breastfeeding still and I'll probably end up with milk stains all over my dress if I don't contain them!! not a pleasant thought. I HATE bra shopping. even more than shoe shopping!!

I didn't get to see the dressmaker this weekend, going on saturday morning instead, so maybe she will have some advice for me.

I am planning on a clutch bag. I will want my lippy, spare pins and a tissue or two in it. BUT i don't know where to put it. I don't want to turn up at the register office with it in hand. BM wants a bag too for fear she may be without her mobile phone for an hour!!!

Anyone been to a register wedding before? Could i take my bag in and leave somewhere? Once in a very distant past (22 yrs ago) i gave my bag of bits to my mum to keep hold of but i won't see anyone before the ceremony this time round. I might end up doing the teenage thing of sticking my bits down my bra!!

I think you could ask your register office. They're all different so it would be hard to say. At ours, OH and I have to go in first together then if I want to walk down the aisle I come out again then the guests go in so I'd certainly be able to leave a bag in there in my case. Though I will need a gigantic bag for all of my daughters stuff too so not worrying about a little one for me!
