well theres 2 I really like in goldsmiths so ill just have to keep an eye out and hope they dont go up too much over the next 6 months or so. Hopefully we can build up our tesco vouchers then aswell. They are 9k but as they wont be on the same hand as my engagement ring it wont really matter!
Ive just sent an email to a wedding car company to find out if they have the car I want free on my date.0 -
I am obviously tired - I read "they are 9k" as "they are £9k" and nearly choked!!
We have decided that after our ceremony we're going to invited people here for drinks. I asked my big brother (who is travelling the furthest - everyone else is up to an hour away) what he would like to do after the ceremony and he said because it's during the week he wouldn't be able to stay for long afterwards - so that takes the pressure off to entertain.Everyone else can just make do with drinks! Helps keep the costs down cause I can just up the bottles I buy at Christmas.
Also spoke to my team leader last night at work, about not being able to invite anyone from work for the actual ceremony and having a 3rd day during the school holidays for work people. It made me chuckle - her first reaction was that people might be on holiday. My reaction - tough!Although spoke to a friend today and she thinks we should do something on the last day of term (the day after the wedding) which I thought would be lovely. I told her she can organise it - lol kinda like a late works hen do - will take pressure off me anyway.
(and the budget!) Lol but that is all assuming there is still a SEN support service a year in July!

Oh that sounds a good idea about a do with your work people- will save you having to try and arrange and budget for another event.
My pink ribbon for the invites came today, its a lovely colour. May be a slighty different shade to the card but i think as they arent directly next to each other it will be fine. Am going to get my mum to cut the card for the inserts to size over the easter hols, cos at the mo the are a1 card rolled up, so I would rather cut them to size then I can flatten them and store them somewhere!!0 -
I wouldn't worry about the ribbon - lol I bet it's only slightly different and most people won't even notice! Especially like you say when they won't be together next to each other anyway!
Yea I'd cut the card up and store them flat tooYou're mum is fab to be doing the cutting!! Lol I have realised over the last year or so I am a control freak - I find it incredibly hard to delegate just because I'm not sure things will be done to my standards/the way I'd do them.

Hi Everyone,
I cant believe how organised everyone is ....
We are probably slightly different from the norm because we are having a garden party at OH parents house for the afternoon / evening, therefore we only need to book the church, which will hopefully be this weekend. We have a very small family so it will only be a small event ! with a Charleston theme.
We have many ideas, but i did go to a wedding fayre and it was the worse thing i did, they was so in your face! which i didnt appreciate.
We have OH's car sorted because his dad has a few vintage cars in the garage (always comes in useful) i would love a horse and cart / (carriage if you want to be posh) because we are getting married in my childhood village it would be perfect!
Regarding honeymoon, we was lucky enough to own a campervan so we are planning on going travelling in France and hopefully making it to Italy , for a few weeks.
Ring's, His mum has an family wedding ring which i am having resized (i don't like new jewellery, i am wearing my grandmas engagement ring) just need to look around antique shops for my OH wedding ring.
Wedding Cake, His Auntie used to make cakes (Still does occasional) so she is coming out of retirement;
Invitations, we have many ideas but, do i trust the OH to stick the right things together.hum.......
Hen Do, I would really love to see the rocky horror show, if it starts showing again ! dressing up of course
Men's attire- After many debates with my father, it was decided the ushers / OH / my father and the best man would wear black jackets and grey trousers.
2 * Bridesmaid dresses, i cant find any i like at the moment but colours are either teal or purple
Anyway we are trying not to spend to many pennies because to me only one part matter's, the changing of vows and having my family and friends around.
Hope everyones wedding plans are coming on !

Hello and welcome Debbie86.
You sound organised- as you know exactly what you want. Im not organised- just very excited.
MrsDrink (Natalie) is having a garden party aswell so you will be able to share and swap ideas with her.
The first wedding fayre I went to was awful, but ive been to a few since and they have been better.
Do you know which date your going for yet or will you decide this once the church is booked?0 -
Wooo hooo it's Easter!!! Only 4 more terms till we all get married!!
Yaaaaaaaay!
Hiya Debbie - welcome to July 2012! Emma is right - I'm also having a garden party(Ceremony at a registry office on a Tuesday, party at ours on the Saturday). Will be really nice to share ideas and bargains!! I can't believe you can't believe how organised we are!! You have made me feel very unorganised!! Lol at the moment I have a lot planned in my head but very little actually booked/bought. (Oh I really want to go see the Rocky Horror Show as well - I really hope it returns one day!)
Right - since I've made my keepsake box... I wonder what weddingy things I can do to keep myself occupied this Easter lol. (I *should* be writing an OU assignment but that isn't as fun as weddings!)0 -

hehe, i just did a day counter as you mentioned how many terms to go, well for me its 477 days- seems like forever away, although I guess when we first booked the venues it was 2 years away so slowly getting there.

Okay so....
(Orange = organised but not completed. Green = nothing left to do/done. Red = needs thinking about).
Invites & Stamps - materials sourced, just need to finalise the invite wording (just need to add a line on about drinks after the ceremony). I won't actually print out the 'inserts' part until the last minute just incase - but the actual cards can be cut and folded. Won't do the ribbons until the inserts have been stuck on so I'm not having to take them off and put them on again.
Thank you Cards (with CD) & Stamps - materials sourced. The design of these is completed. I could start printing these out and making them now. Ready for writing after the aftershow party - I'm thinking of having three categories of words... a) Thank you for your gift, sorry you couldn't be with us, it was a lovely celebration. b) Thank you for joining us in our celebration and c) Thank you for joining us in our celebration and your thoughtful gift. Definitely not being lumbered with writing them all though lol - he can do his half.... (lol you watch I'll end up doing them all).
Registry Office - well I've coloured this green - the only thing left to do is pay. We've provisionally booked this, and will pay when we go and give notice.
Notice - again coloured this in green - cause it's booked for August this year - but we have to actually go and do this.
Marriage Certificate - well this is amber - it's organised in that we'll get it when the ceremony is done (plus one spare copy).
Rings - This one still needs some organising - I know what ring I want, and where I'll be getting it from. MrD just needs to decide whether he would like a ring and if so what sort etc.
Wedding Dress - Well I'm off dress shopping with my mum 30th July this year, and I've been looking at dresses online but this still has a lot to sort out.
Underwear - My underwear is sorted - strapless bra and spanx. MrD needs to sort his out.
My shoes - Bought a gorgeous pair of Miss KG Paparazzi shoes. Nothing left to do on this one.
Accessories - No idea what sort of jewellery I fancy - I guess I will get a better idea once I've got a dress.
Hair - I am thinking about putting a flower from my bouquet/MrD's buttonhole in my hair but not sure if it'll be too much/ how to position it.
Makeup - I have planned to go to a MAC counter with my Chief-Bridesmaid-If-I-Was-Having-One in the summer for a make over - will buy some bits and bobs then. (Although this is going to blow my make up budget - I figure if I buy foundation etc then it's not just for that one day).
Flowers - These are organised. I've sorted MrD's buttonhole. I have sorted the style/design of my bouquet out. I need to decide whether I want ivory or white flowers in amongst the burgundy ones - but I'll decide that when I know what dress I'm getting.
MrD's suit - haven't even started! He can sort this one out.
MrD's shoes - haven't even started! He can sort this one out.
Drinks for after the ceremony - I know what I will get. I just have to wait till Christmas to buy cheaper booze!
Marque for the garden party - I think I have this organised - instead of getting a marque thinking of getting a couple of gazebos instead - just not purchased.
Seating - have sourced some white plastic garden chairs for £1.50 each plus £10 delivery & collection. Just need to book them.
Alcohol for the party- I know what I will get. I just have to wait till Christmas to buy cheaper booze!
Catering for the party - I know what I will get - I just have to wait to closer to the date so I can place a tescos order.
Cake - We'll be having little miniature cheesecakes for everyone. I have bought my cake stand. I will just have to wait closer to the date so I can place a tescos order.
Decorations - I know what decorations I'll be using - paper hearts, garden torches, balloon cloud 9s, table confetti for around the buffet. I have the card to make 44 paper hearts - I could start making these up - staple the strips together so on the night before all I have to do is staple the bottoms to create the hearts.
Entertainment - Well this is organised - in that we're just going to have our iPod set up - but we will need to sit down and plan our music - lol and filter out any with any bad language lol.
Hen night - I was thinking of just having a meal with my Chief-Bridesmaid-If-I-Was-Having-One, but after going to a hotel and relaxing at their spa I'm considering paying for the two of us to have a day somewhere relaxing.
Stag night - He can organise that!
Blimey - so much left to do!! Thank god there is 466 days to go till our wedding!!0
