Emma - like you said you would probably be better off paying for the dresses you want making - especially if you start budgeting for boleros etc on top of the dress! At least paying for bespoke dresses you won't have to compromise!0

Thats very true Natalie. I have to wait a while anyway because obviously I have no idea what size my little sister will be- its just annoying as I would love to be able to make a start sorting out flowers and things.
Did have to laugh at your status about falling asleep during yoga!! I so need to get to the gym but theres no way I can go at the mo- and I forgot to ask when I had my op how long I should wait before I get back into it- I guess just when I feel up to it!!0 -
Pinched from another thread...
So what is going to be your something old/borrowed/new/blue? (lol not in the right order I know!) Have you thought about it/not bothered?
Whilst I'm not one for following tradition, or even being superstitious I have my 'somethings' organised.
My Something Old is my 30th birthday ring's metal - it will be 3 years 8 months old by then.
My Something Borrowed is my 30th birthday ring's diamonds - they are borrowed from my grandma's engagement ring.
My Something Blue is my 30th birthday ring's Sapphire - self explanatory really.
My Something New will be my wedding ring.
(I wear my 30th birthday ring in lieu of an engagement ring so it's quite fitting really).0 -
Lol yea I fell asleep during the 15 mins relaxation at the end, woke up when she rang her little chymes (which she does to wake us up/bring us back to the room), but then fell back asleep afterwards... lol next thing I knew they were all sat up and I wasn't lol. Ooops!
Not the first time and won't be the last lol.
At least you can spend AGES looking at lots of pretty dresses online in the mean time0 -
My something old will be my engagement ring- which I plan on wearing on my right hand- and think Im actually going to leave it on that hand once I have my wedding ring on my left hand
My something new will be my dress/ outfit
Im stuck on something blue and something borrowed. I may be borrowing a pearl necklace, its the one my mum borrowed when she married my step dad- but she cant find her wedding photos at the mo for me to see what it is like and if it will match my outfit.
I was thinking a blue garter- But i really dont know if I want one, so if I dont I have no idea!!0 -
Good morning all. Well last night I went and bought 5 spare blades for my craft knife. I had considered using MrD's stanley knife (which he gets blades for at work) but he said those blades tend to be coated in a thin film of oil to stop them rusting. Obviously I wouldn't want any invites to get messy cause of that so I decided to just buy some blades. I also bought some UHU glue sticks as well - got 2 large ones (25g each) so that should be enough. All of this extra stuff has bought the total for the invites, thank you cards and writeable CDs, and postage, to £78.32. (£1.68 under budget). Seeing it like that seems like loads of money!! But I will be making 22 invites, 22 thank you cards, and using 22 CD-Roms, 8 invites and 8 thank you cards will need posting, and I'm including a stamped SAE in those 8 thank you cards for the return of the writeable CD-Roms. So really each invite/thank you card has cost us £1.78. Eeeek that seems loads, but I have to remind myself that some invites online were costing around £4 a pop! Plus this way it's the personal touch and I'm pleased with them even if they aren't as MSE as they could have been lol.0

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/50-Purple-Rose-Paper-Applique-scrapbook-/230604379330?pt=UK_Crafts_Embellishments_SM&hash=item35b11794c2 I do like these ones but they are coming from Thailand and not feel 100% comfortable with ordering something thats coming from outside the UK.
Im so excited that i know what the invitations are going to be like. Going to order some card from PDA and ribbon from craft fairy.:D

Hi Laura,

http://www.cameo-favours.co.uk/wedding-favours/favour-decorations/craft-flowers/ribbon-roses/purple-ribbon-roses.html
or these:

thats ok- if you want any more help let me know, I have another week off yet and cant actually do much so anything to keep me busy and sane!!:rotfl:
I have a friend who is getting married in 5 weeks and its fab as we just talk weddings!
Oh my post box came today so will put that somewhere safe, and my pearl hairpins and the scatter crystals came yesterday. Pearl hair pins are great, scatter crystals are smaller than I imagined but will look nice on the table cloths as almost like a confetti look- I was orignally thinking for my mirror plates but they are too small!!0
