Hi Laura, I can't recommend/review PDA card and craft https://www.pdacardandcraft.co.uk enough. They really are a brilliant company - great card (creased and uncreased) in all sorts of colours and sizes. And their customer service/after care really is fab - I was unsure which white I wanted - I sent them an email saying which one is just normal white and they explained the difference between all their whites. I've also pestered them after I've placed an order and have forgotten an item - nothing is a problem for them. While they don't send out free samples, their prices are so reasonable I ordered one of every red card to see exactly which one I wanted to use! In fact I'm hoping all my card arrives tomorrow for my invites and thank you cards. Not sure when I will start assembling them - lol knowing me - as soon as they come! lol.
Today I did a very exciting weddingy thing... lol... I went and bought 28 large second class stamps lol. Very exciting indeed!! (Got large ones to take into account of the ribbon knot, and not being sure about the thickness of the thank you cards when I've put the CD-Roms inside).
So what sort of invites are you thinking of doing Laura?0 -
Emma - I'm confused - are you buying Bridesmaids dresses (in pink?) or are you just looking at styles to get someone to make. I remember you talking about pink swatches you'd ordered - or at least I think I do...0

Emma - dunno if you've looked at Debenhams but just did a quick search - how about this http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_028010463957_-1?breadcrumb=Home%7EWomen%7EDresses ?0

Mel- thats a good idea about the camisole underneath- definately something for me to keep in mind.
I havent decided what im doing about dresses yet, if I can find them ready made then Ill get them ready done, but if not then I will look into getting them made, but I need to work out costs.
Thats quite nice but the colour isnt quite right and I think I would prefer a bit more of a fuller skirt.
Laura- what style bridesmaid dresses are you looking at?0 -
Thanks Natalie. Love that website:D I will try my best to explain what idea i have. Thinking A5 Ivory or white or cream card then B6 purple card inside and purple satin ribbon around the cards with it bow tied on the front. Also maybe purple roses. For example like these http://www.craftfairy.co.uk/wine-ribbon-roses-773-p.asp on the bottom right of the card. Hope that all makes sense! I will have a look online to see if i can see anything similar to what im things off. So i just need to find out if you can get the ribbon already tied and just glue it on!
Emma - not 100% sure on the style i want yet but i do like these

Something a bit like this
http://www.weddingstationerybymichelle.co.uk/wedding%20stationery%20by%20michelle%20triple%20rose.html
But the ribbon will be thiner and along the length of the card on the left and the roses will be at the bottom right in a line down and without the stems showing!0 -
Laura- they are all very nice. I really like the first one. The BHS ones I have had my eye on for a while in the pink, but I think they a bit grown up for my younger bridesmaid- I had thought about getting that one for my older bridesmaid and then this one for my younger sister:
http://www.bhs.co.uk/mall/productpage.cfm/bhsstore/657328/228565
but didnt know if it would look odd have one in a long dress and then one in a knee length dress.
How many bridesmaids have you got Laura? Im sure youve said before but theres way too many posts to go back over!!:rotfl:0 -
The dress is nice emma. For the younger bridemaid why don't you get a jacket for her? Maybe it might help her not look too grown up?
Ive got 2. My sister and best friend, at the wedding will be 26 and 22, so close in age
My sister likes the BHS dress:j0 -
I could get a shrug- but for what it would then cost I could probably make them to be exactly what I want on a website ive found where you pick your own parts of the dress. I think I may just have to hope they dont go up anymore, and just find the little bit extra they will cost. Im doing quite a good job so far at saving money so am sure I will be to find the money elsewhere in the budget.0

Blimey I go off to Yoga and look how posts you two write while I'm gone lol.
Laura - you can definitely buy pre-made bows, but not sure how cost effective they would be. I know PDA do a pack of 10 pre-made for 51p. But you can get 3mm satin ribbon for 17p a metre (or a roll of 50m for £8.51 which is probably a tad excessive!) Bows are easy enough to tie yourself. (I did put a link up before for a good youtube video but I'll find it again if you want).0
