Lol, have got as far as booking the venue, date and wedding planner. We are getting married in Paphos, nothing huge just close family and our close friends, basically it worked out cheaper to do that than to do it over here and also meant that we could restrict the amount of people coming much easier by going abroad to do it! I also thought it would be less stressful however due to OH's family this is not necessarily proving to be the case..... :)

Natalie- op went ok, am just very sore and achey now, but have 2 weeks off work to recover- and my oh is doing a grand job of looking after me.

Welcome Inca, your getting married the day before me. We were tempted by a wedding abroad- I was looking into Zante but then we decided to get married here, but still keeping it as cheap as poss.

Natalie:j at booking the accomadation, bet you cant wait.

    Tracey- the dress is stunning.

Ive just ordered a few bits on ebay!

Ive ordered an ivory post box, some pink ribbon to go on the invites, some pink scatter crystals for the tables, some pearl pins to go in hair ups (me and my little sister will probably have hair ups so I thought they would look nice from behind) and 2 pearl and diamonte tiara/ hairbands for my 2 bridesmaids as I thought it would be nice for them to matching tiaras even if they will have different hair styles (they are very simple and just one row). I dread to think what else I would have ordered after 2 weeks off work with not much else to keep me occupied! hehe:rotfl:

Hi All, sorry I haven't been writing much this week!! I have been reading though - as you can see by my 'thanks' :).

I don't have any weddingy news - and I have nothing weddingy planned in the near future either - gutted. Lol. I miss it!! :)

Lol inca - aren't families great at weddings?! My mum has yet to meet MrD's parents... lol she has been in the same vicinity as his dad before but they have not actually spoken to each other. I think we've done well give we've been together for 12 years lol. I am sure it will be fine but you just can't help worrying!!
We've never been to cyprus. But I do like Greek Islands :) Any photos of your venue? I did contemplate getting married abroad, but my mum wouldn't ever fly and there is no way I'd want his parents there without her!! That wouldn't be fair... lol I did also think about running off and coming back announcing to everyone we're married but his mum would never forgive me lol.

Tracey - lol I've already pmd you but I'll say it here too I am VERY jealous!! :)

Emma - hope you are feeling a bit better now and less sore and achey. You are right - I can't wait for our pre-honeymoon!! Really glad that I bit the bullet and booked it :) Lol even if it does make money tight for a little while it's tough!! We've also got one of those prepaid mastercards in Euros so I plan on putting 50 euros on each month between now and then as well so we have plenty of money to take with us. :) Next thing is to pay for the course but the woman is so laid back she is happy for us to pay a deposit and then pay when we're there - I may just send her some money as and when we can afford it :) Then I want to get us some equipment like wetsuits etc. VERY excited!! :)
Oh and all your ebaying sounds FAB!! I demand to see piccies when they arrive!!

    How is everyone else doing?

    Hi all,

Well I thought you might like to know that we have finally picked a colour scheme. Going to go for an aqua/turquoise blue as the main colour and a peachy orange as an accent (because my mum is insistent on flowers and blue flowers are a bit freakish!) So it'll look sort of like this (but without the dog-poo brown, ewww)
aqua-blue-orange-wedding.jpg (Shamelessly nicked from some site on google, thanks to whoever could be arsed to look for all those pics and put them together!)

It looks a bit more summery than some of the other options i had thought of, and hopefully the orange won't be as bug attracting as yellow would be. I hate yellow anyway though it's my least favourite colour because it reminds me of banana's and sweetcorn, my least favourite foods... anyway rambling a bit there :o:rotfl:

Finally met the vicar, he seems nice enough and is filling in his half of the form for the special license for us. Then we have to send it down to Westminster Abbey so hopefully it won't get delayed because of the Royal wedding.

Well done on finding your dress Tracey

I'm not going to bother with mine just yet but I am dreading it. I looked at the Alfred Angelo and Maggie can't-remember-her-name's websites the other week (not that I would ever spend that much!) and there wasn't one design that I liked. They are all so flouncy and bloody strapless. What's wrong with having short sleeves, do people with fat arms not get married?

Natalie - what's a pre-honeymoon? Those flowers look nice by the way.
And (sorry if this is another stupid question) Emma, why do you need an ivory postbox? I'm assuming you need it for the wedding but what's it for, just decoration? Sorry and ignore me if it's something personal and non wedding related!
I know nothing about weddings :(:p

    xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o

Mel- those colours look fab together. With regards to your dress apart from us all keeping our fingers crossed and hoping you find the perfect with dress (which may well be out there and you might find it when you start going round shops) all I can think to suggest is either having straps/ sleeves to a strapless dress or would you consider a shrug/ jacket- from some photos Ive seen you cant tell its not part of the dress. Ill be doing lots of arm toning exercises leading up to my big day:rotfl:

My post box is a cardboard ivory box that I can decorate and everyone can put their cards in their so they are all kept together. Weve ordered a plain one, but I will decorate it and put it on a small table next to the guest box, it will be a bit like this, but suiting our theme/ colours:

    z_post_box_flutterby_120.jpg

Natalie- im still sore and achey but am feeling a bit better each day so I think it will just be a gradual recovery. Thats a good idea with the mastercard.

Hiya Mel - a 'pre-honeymoon' is what I'm calling our October Half Term trip. :) It's when we're going to learn to dive read for our actual Honeymoon lol. :) And I can't wait!!

I think a bluey turquoise and orange look really lovely together! And I'm sure now you've chosen your colour you will find absolutely loads of things in your colours :)

I agree with Emma, it wouldn't be hard for a seamstress/dress maker to add some straps to a strapless dress (in the same way they'd be able to remove some). Also the Donna Lee dress I have my eye on comes with a bolero - I actually emailed the stockist to see if it was a strapless dress under it cause I would rather be strapless cause I couldn't tell from the photos. What sort of straps would you like? Ones that leave your shoulders bare, and kinda hug your upper arms, ones that come up over your shoulders but leave your upper arms bare, or full ones that cover your shoulders and upper arms (or even your lower arms as well)? Maybe we could help you find some?

:) lol well this afternoon we have been and bought a new addition to the family - a new koi - well actually we bought two but one isn't ready to come home yet - it needs 5 more weeks quarantine before they will let it come out. Really excited!! :) So I'm off to go and sit by the pond and watch them :)
