just a little bit of help needed with the eveing reception invites... could you give me a guide on what they should say. and how it should be said? i have no idea. also if i invite someone to the wedding do they need an invite to the evening too?
should i put what we are eating? they are not getting a choice so should it be mentioned? i have found invites i like but just not sure how i should be wording things etc.

    thanks

I guess because we aren't having a formal sit down we're not going to be doing any favours... lol they are privileged enough to just be invited lol.

I can't help with the wording for the evening do because, well I'm not having one lol. Not on the same day anyway. (I've used wording along the lines of celebrating the marriage of...). To get around the two invites thing (for someone invited to the day and evening) I've put the details of the after show party on the same invites as those we're inviting to the ceremony. If you google wedding invite wording there are a few places out there that might help with whether to mention the food (although I suspect if you mention something like ceremony and wedding breakfast, or reception).

Sorry don't feel like that was very helpful LauraR! Lol only just woken up after very little sleep, and now have a sore throat!! (lol I blame whoever it was that said they had one on here!)

Hi LauraR- We arent having wedding favours because 1) I dont know et if we are having a sit down meal (if we do it wont be the traditional wedding breakfast, it will be something a bit bit informal) and 2) I really want a sweetie buffet so am having one of those instead!! However- Im liking those pieces of rock (the pink ones) for my sweetie buffet!!

This is something similar to how I will word my evening invites:
    Evening Wording
    ......... and ..............
request the pleasure of your company
    to an evening reception to
    celebrate their wedding
    at
    Such and such venue
    on
    date
    from 7.30pm
    RSVP
    Address
For the daytime invitation I think I would just put on there ceremony details and then something like:
followed by a wedding breakfast and
    evening reception at ......
Oh and Natalie- I think it so annoying that bra sizes vary so much- why cant they all be the same!! I will leave it closer to the time and then go back and try it again!!

Laura - My friends evening invitation said

    '..... and ....
would like to invite you to their wedding reception on
    ....(date)
    at ...(venue)
    ...(address)
    From 7.30pm

Im sure if you look on google you will find something that suits you.
Your venue sounds good and seems like a good deal as well:)

Natalie well done on gettin your bra(never thought i would congratulate someone on buying a bra:rotfl:) and finding a box. Thats not a bad idea in getting a wedding box so far all my wedding bits are in a folder!

silaqui Theres no way i would do marking during my holidays!

Emma:j for having the photographer sorted. I love crossing things of my wedding list:rotfl:p.s as natalie said we havnt added you yet on FB:D

It's not too bad - I'll only have 19 A level folders to mark. Between now and the 11th April I need to fit in 104x 20 page GCSE folders, so in that last week I don't think I'll be up for doing any more!

I never even thought of what to put on the invitations! :rotfl: I just assumed it said "come to our wedding!" I've just had a look online and apparently there are loads of different ways to do it depending on what your situation is. Might be worth a google.

I HATE the whole bra thing. I have bras that fit in so many different sizes, wish I could just go into a shop and pick one up and know it will fit instead of painstakingly having to try everything on. Same with clothes really, it's ridiculous that in my wardrobe I have clothes that fit in sizes 12 -20!

Done nothing more yet, need to ring the new vicar tomorrow to arrange a meeting. All my wedding stuff is in a tatty old manilla folder with some kids name crossed out on the front :rotfl: Sometimes I wish I was more sentimental/romantic :o

    xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o

LauraR I would remove this from here pretty sharpish :) You don't want the world knowing your address and phone number. x (You can open it up in paint, and squiggle out this info, then reupload it).

But other than that I think it's lovely!
