Lol well so far this morning I have:
    * bought a bra to wear under my dress,
    * found a good sized box for turning into a keepsake box.

Lol so much for doing nothing weddingy! :) MrD bought a new pair of walking boots to keep his footsies warm in Finland, I have pinched the box. I'll wrap it inside and out with white paper, I'll print a little label for it in the same word cloud style of the invites, and I can then keep various bits and bobs inside it. It'll also be big enough to keep our wedding album inside. (I'll use Apple to make the photobook).

woo!!!! well i got my email back from a venue i really like and...
    £2010 for
    50Adults 8children
    Civil ceremony room hire.
    Breakfast:
    Soup for starter
    sausage & mash for Main
drink with Meal & drink for toast
    Reception: 90 Adults 8-10 children
    Buffet (cater for 75-80%)
    DJ
Complimentary Room with Full english breakfast.
    cake table and knife
white table cloths and paper napkins in our choice of colour.

I think this is a really good price the venue is lovely the only thing that lets it down is there is no grassed area outside but there is a corner with a bit of greenery in the back so that will have to do!

    what u think? x

Sounds brilliant :) Really it doesn't matter what the price is if it's THE venue :). (lol obviously within reason!). It does sound a very good price though - I did a tot up the other week of our local hotel's cost and that was over £3k and didn't have half as much included as yours!! :T

I think its good its the second time we have gone back to them and its a better price they guy is really helpful too... i have over estemated on the numbers not for the day but i think it will be more 80 on the night then 90. but i guess you just dont know whats going to happen with friends over the next 16months do you?
I dont want to spend more then another £1000 on everything else and i dont think it would be to hard i will just have to do my best with the bargins. although £350 has to come out of that for the registrar :( x

Can't believe how much registrars cost to come out to a venue!!

I do think though - when you get a good place that looks after you, whether that is the venue or somewhere like a bridal shop - it speaks volumes. :)

I do think thats a really good price for what you are getting- and if it feels right then you should go for it. I think if work out what else you need to spend out for and do a rough estimate of how much you think you can get it for/ are willing to pay you then you should be able to work out if you can do it for £1000. I think you can.

Well ive been to debenhams and tried the bra on- I wasnt 100% convinced so am going to wait until ive lost weight and then see how it feels. I also saw the shoes I had my eye on- and they are lovely so im going to order them- didnt get them in store as they have £5 off online plus theres a 10% off code on here somewhere!! (and every little saving adds up!!)

Absolutely agree - every little helps!! And definitely best to not get the bra if you aren't convinced!! You don't want to go spending your special day not feeling comfortable!

Lol I have spent my afternoon calculating how much it would cost me to make 44 paper hearts like the ones I've shown you guys before - comes to just over £10. Now trying to work out how many I'd need to go all round our boundaries. Don't want too many that it looks OTT but at the same time don't want too few that you can't see them! I'm going to have cloud 9s in each corner of the gardens - will have to decorate front and back to make sure everyone can fit. I've also been thinking about the whole gazebo thing. I think I might get us two 3 x 3m ones. That'd still be under £60 and we can put them either next to each other in either the front or the back - or one in each. Need to have a chat with the in-laws so they can visualise what sort of do we're planning. FIL2B scoffed a bit at only getting 3 x 3m ones... think they envisioned us having tables for everyone to sit at. I*might* add a couple to the chairs we're hiring but certainly not everyone is getting a place at a table and a chair to sit on. Also need to speak to my family so they know what sort of ceremony we're having... I think my eldest brother (who lives in London) thinks the Tuesday is going to be the main event when really the party is the biggest part. The actual ceremony on the Tuesday is going to be so quick it's not really worth his time getting the day off from work and coming up for just that (unless he really wants to) but I want to make sure he doesn't go expecting any sort of 'do' after the ceremony!

Lol I've done it again - I'm waffling!

Hehe, its not so much about feeling comfy, but I dont want to spend all day feeling like Im adjusting myself!!:rotfl:I will leave it til colser to the time, see whats about and will also see how supportive my dress is!

Wow, thats a really good price, I would be tempted to get enough to make the 44 as it is only £10, then you can dot them around where you feel necessary, but I reckon 44 would be enough, and if you had too many could you maybe put some indoors aswell? This may sound a stupid question but what are cloud 9 balloons?? Have you looked into how much you can sell the gazebos on for? It could work out that it wouldnt end up costing you much if you can sell them on for a reasonable amount.

Hehe, and with the money I saved by getting the shoes online I got myself a bargain sports bra reduced from £27 to £8!!

    Cloud 9s: http://www.finaltouchmemories.co.uk/cloud_9s.html
Although I think ours will be filled with normal air and will be hung upside down. :) (Cheaper!)

Yes I will definitely get enough to make 44 - lol I'm just umming whether to go for 88 lol.

I wouldn't be surprised if we can get nearly all the money back off the gazebos - especially if I put the word marquee in the ebay listing lol. And if I put 'wedding' in too then I can triple the asking price lol.

Ahh I see what you mean about the bra - when I tried it on before I didn't feel like there'd be any slippage. Perhaps when you go back to try one on (if you do) try a smaller back size and see if that helps feel more secure. I hate bra shopping - different makes and styles mean I'm never 100% sure what size I need. Why they can't all just be the same dimensions is beyond me. Cor this is going back a bit but I remember a programme trinny and susannah did ranting about bra sizes.

Oh that is brill about the bargain sports bra!!
