My new shoes are here!!:j And I love them. Ok so I have 2 pairs already and months and months to go, so I really think I need to not look at shoes anymore!!:rotfl:(I cant help it though, I love shoes:)!!)

LauraR- I think thats a nice idea- and different.:) And the style and wording is Just right.

    How has everyones day been??

that invite looks really good. It looks as if my wedding is going to be less mse than I thought. My parents and OH have decided that they want real flowers and ready made invites, rather than making our own. I don't mind and it is not going to increase my budget as my parents have offered to pay the extra, as it is not something I was bothered about. xx

Oh !!!! no I havent  The phone number is on OHs emails too so will have to do it tomorrow

I like your invites Laura, nice and simple. Magnets is a good idea too, they won't just get stuffed behind all the other mail and bills that way.

What are your shoes like Pink Princess? I'm looking forward to shoe shopping more than I am dress shopping haha! I love shoes and have far to many - at one point last year I had over 400 pairs and I had a mad ebaying session and whittled it down to just 30 pairs! I have more than that now though lol!

It's amazing how everything all adds up isn't it. I was not expecting things to be as dear as they are, and there is so much I didn't even realise you had to think about! Tfutcher, my mum suggested real flowers and I said if she wanted them she could pay for them haha. It's gonna be the height of summer, I don't want to be flapping bees and insects away all day!

I have arranged someone to do the photos though - my friend has a really posh camera and is a bit of a hobbyist photographer so she has offered to do the posed photos. :T It just didn't seem worth paying a photographer just to do those, they were after hundreds of pounds :( and most of them included footage of the bride getting ready??? I sooo don't get that, why would you want a stranger hanging round in the morning when you should be spending time with your family?

So so far I have arranged venue, church (nearly) and photos. I still haven't decided on colours!

Good Morning fellow brides (and groom if Dave is still reading).

Damn waking up far too early - I'm going to be shattered tonight!! Woke up really thirsty (had a Domino's pizza last night and they always dry me out with all their nasty salt!)

Got an email from Dunelm saying my foliage has been despatched - really hope it arrives either today or tomorrow, because on Friday I'm off on a weekend away straight from work, so unless it comes then I won't get a chance to play with it!! I'll add a few blades of grass to my bouquet and see what we think (lol MrD wasn't bothered at all when I showed him my bouquet so far lol). I can also then do a mock up of a button hole (something like this one: http://www.stem-florists.co.uk/Large%20Wedding%20Portfolio%20photos/Venues/Nurstead%20Court/Viki%20Collier/Gerbera%20Buttonhole.JPG ) but I'm still not sure if it will be too big with the size of gerberas I've got.

Emma - really pleased you love your new shoes!! :rotfl: nice to meet more shoe-people!! lol although Mel 400 shoes is a tad bit excessive lol. I tend to buy one fab pair and wear them into the ground and then replace them with another fab pair. :) I really didn't mind spending money on my wedding shoes cause I know once they've been worn for this occasion I will be able to wear them again and again. And Emma, if you end up buying more pairs of shoes, in terms of your wedding budget only the pair you end up wearing will count. Lol the rest will be just normal shoe shopping spending :rotfl:

LauraR - just looking at your invite again - I'm really liking the swans - just thinking you could bring them into your wedding in other ways - like having swan table confetti (no idea if they do make some but they should!) or having origami swans within your centre pieces (if you know anyone who is good at folding paper lol). One thing you may like to consider (but I don't know if it'd mess the layout up) - you could remove the year from your date, given that you will be handing them out in 2012. If you were to put just 20th July, people would assume that it'd be that current year. :) This has saved me some space on my invites. But it may mess the overall layout on yours.

Tracey - Okay so it may not be MSE in the strictest sense of it but like you said your actual budget is still MSE so I wouldn't worry about it. :) At least buying pre-made invites is the time you'll be saving!! I'm planning on making another invite soon, less rough, and seeing how long each one is going to take to make. I envision having to make 40 of them... lol I'll let you know how long I am going to spend making them... lol and there is no way I trust anyone enough to make them with me!! Even MrD won't get a look in - I'm far too much of a perfectionist/control freak to let anyone else do anything lol.

LauraL - lol I do admit to getting warm gooey feelings whenever I see weddings on TV at the moment. :) that will be us soon enough!! Although it is freaking me out that of all of us I'm the first to do the deed! It is reassuring though that on the day of our party there are three more of you who will be celebrating with me as well!

Ooo magnets... I wonder if I could/should turn our invites into magnets by adding a small one on the back of them... will have to ponder over that one. I do like the idea of our invites being stuck on peoples fridges! :)

Mel - that is brilliant news about the photographs!! I plan on taking some of the close up photos of like my shoes, the bouquet, MrD's buttonhole etc myself. I'm also tempted to get us both dressed up and set our camera up on the tripod and put the timer on and spend an evening doing our own posed ones (but natural and laughing like reportage style photos). I plan on taking as many as I can before the day so there is less pressure on my mum (who's going to be taking photos of the ceremony).
As for colours - lol who says you a) have to have 'colours' and b) that you have to have decided on them now? I would say if you aren't bothered them either don't have a set colour theme, just get what you think is pretty. Or buy the big things first like bridesmaid dresses, and let that dictate what colour the rest of your things should be.

Cor this is a post and half isn't it lol. I have to admit I'm getting wedding-planning-withdrawal having not got anything to plan/research/organise. I keep just opening up my spreadsheet and stroking it :rotfl:

Ha!! Just made a more finished version of our invites... took me nearly 30 mins for just the one invite lol. If I start now I may have enough for handing out come next year!!

Natalie- are these proper final invites? I think my mum is goito make a start on mine in the easter holidays- cant wait to start making them to see if they look anything like I picture them in my head. I do hope so!!

Mel- 400 pairs of shoes:eek:. I have probably 60 pairs- but tend to wear the same ones every day!! I will put a link on her next time I see your online, then I can remove it again incase oh sees it. And thats really good news about the photographer. I am having one but just for 2 hrs, and then im putting my oldest sister in charge of photos in the evening as she has a decent camera so would take a few nice ones of cake cutting, first dance etc.

Im quite lucky on thats I didnt need much thought on the colour- luckily my oh decided for a quiet life and agreed!!:rotfl: I have to say some of the pics on here where each bridesmaid is in a different colour look fab.
