Hello all!

Well, you're all getting along great here!

I'm going to the dress shop on Saturday, really can't wait. Then I need to get started on my BM's outfit and the INVITATIONS and all the other stuff! I'm leaving OH to sort out his own suit, I have enough on my plate! :rotfl:

I'm feeling very lazy as I didn't do ANY wedding stuff over Christmas (unless you count spending hours in Pinterest ). How am I going to get it all sorted in time???

I used to work for social services, and before that for the inspectorate for a number of years. The constant regulations and red tape and attitude of some employees used to frustrate the heck out of me....
I work for a charity now, on the opposite end of the scale, and that still frustrates me lol just wish there was a happy medium somewhere.
Luckily, I totally love my job so can banish the frustration because i'm out and about for a high percentage of my time
i went back to uni to requalify into a different profession because the inspectorate frustrated me so greatly!
Try to work out your dream job, and work backwards from there into one you could afford to do...

Hi Ladies - I am back at work today and have the serious 'back to work blues'

I am very envious of those who enjoy their jobs - but even a crap job with a good salary would do me. I have a crap job with a crap salary Bad times.

I don't make new year's resolutions, but I am determined to find a better job this year!

Have finished MrD's buttonhole, and 3 of the 4 ones I'm doing for the 'heads of households' (lol). Although I'm now wondering how on earth they will attach the lapels/tops because the stems are stiff plastic - all the tutorials I've seen involve sticking a pin through the stem. :S

Rachel - shame that you don't like your job and feel like your wage is crap too. Does it have any benefits - like school holidays? These have definitely helped me in the past!! (5 weeks 2 days till Feb half term ha!)

Wanchai - you will manage to get everything planned in time for your wedding!! Lol you may just have to be more decisive lol.

Stupid question alert - but how? How would you then pin it to the lapel/top? Without it flopping over. Plus ideally I'd like the pin to be hidden as much as possible.

Melanie- glad you got such a bargain on the chair covers- it does just go to show you can get things on a budget.

Wanchai- im in the same boat as lovecake, I have a boring job and its not great pay either, but I do have hopes that something better will come along soon!!:D

Natalie- would you like me to ask mil2b for some suggestions? (she makes bouquets/ buttonholes from artifical flowers for her job).

My day has been ok, am still being good and went to the gym, I could easily go to bed and sleep through to the morning now- Im sooooo tired!!

Training Run 2 - done. Felt better throughout really. Much better posture - my back didn't hurt. Did it in the same time - but it was a lot winder out there compared to Monday!!

Emma - ooo yes please!! Ask her pleaseeeeee I am really pleased with them - especially MrD's - it'll look brill on his suit with his matching tie. Cannot wait to see him in it all.

Well done on the jog. Youll be doing 10k before you know it. Its good your booked in on some 10k runs- its good to have a target to motivate you.

Dj has replied to my email to say he will have the deposit in April, I did text him back just to confirm I was definately booked in and he replied saying yes and not to panic!! I have also had a response from my photographer to say he suggests we meet up June time, so now im just wating for a reply from the lady doing my dress alterations as im booked in for 9th April but my mum pointed out this is easter monday so I wanted to confirm if she wanted to do that day or change.

How can I pin a hard plastic stemmed artificial buttonhole? Because the how-to guides on youtube say to pin from the back of the lapel through to the front, through the stem, and back through the lapel. Which I get, and having the stem at the front of the lapel will stop it from tilting over (which it would if I was to try to get the stem through the button hole). But I wouldn't be able to pin through the stem...

... although writing this I'm guessing I could still do this but instead of going through the stem I'd 'sew' infront of the stem and then back into the lapel. No idea if that makes sense. Right I need to get some long nice pins. lol So you don't have to ask her anything lol. x This should work.

Ok as im bored (Ive already downloaded a load of free books onto my kindle this evening!!:D) and trying to organise myself im going to do a list of what is still to be done and when I need to do it

Finalise Guest list/ finish and send out invites (end of Jan/ start of Feb)
Pay dj deposit, meet up with him, discuss songs etc- deposit April, meeting June time
Take dress to be taken up (april)
Sort out cake details (April/ May time)
Meet caterers to go through finer details (April)
Meet up with photographer (June)
My younger bridesmaid and flowergirl shoes (June)
Oh needs to sort out outfits for himself, best man and my step dad (sooner rather than later I hope)
Table plan, name cards etc (May- rsvp date is 30th April so I can start on these as soon as I have them all in)
Sweets for sweetie table (June time)
Go to registry office 28th April with passport form (want this sorted as soon as I can)
Confirm colour of sash for chair covers
Hair and Make up trial
Design and print out something to go on post box.
Decide if we are having table names, if so what they will be and print these out.
Sort out activity bags/ photo activity for the kids
Order I do stickers for my shoes
I must also:
Remain calm!!
Try not to become bridezilla
Try and get a balance of doing what we want as its our day and keeping others reasonably happy!!

I also need to go though everything and look at what needs to be paid and when.

What have I missed out?
