I like to have a list to give me some guidance but I dont like being too organised- cos then I start flapping and faffing when things dont go right!!:D

What are you all doing the night before the wedding? where are you staying? Im hoping oh can stay at his mums so I can stay at our house with my 2 bridesmaids, get a take away and just chill, then will head round my mums in the morning.

I don't know what we are going to do yet - the original plan was going to be that I stayed over at my mums with my sister, and OH's brother and dad stopped with him in the old flat. But now that we are living here anyway, there isn't really anywhere for him to go? The only option that I did think of was that they could all possibly stay at my sisters house, with her OH - but I feel a bit cheeky asking that! I don't know whether I'll be trusting a takeaway lol - what if you get food poisoning haha! (In reality I will so be eating pizza and then stressing in the morning that I look pregnant in my dress lol)

Hi - Im brand new here :-) Im 28 July too - in Italy - not long to go now - exciting!
    :-)

Hello :) Hows the planning going?!

I was really naughty yesterday and broke a golden rule of shopping - I went and had a look around the reduced price 'occasionwear' in debenhams and found my sisters bridesmaid dress reduced from 85 to 30quid  In her size as well! I did have a bit of a hare-brained scheme of going into town with the old dress, finding the reduced one and getting my mate to hold on to it, taking the old one back and exchanging it for some underwear or something (Can't just refund as bought it months ago now) and then rebuying the reduced one!

But I have decided that's too much hassle even for a committed MSE'r! It's paid for now so I will just cut my losses I think.

    xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o

Good evening ladies how are you all doing? Well you probably all noted by it's absence that my weigh in wasn't very favourable this morning. But it's my own fault - two night's of take aways and loads of chocolate yesterday isn't going to make me lose weight is it!! Off for a 8.04Km run tonight though so that should help. (But all I want to do right now is sleep!) There is something smelly in the house - smells like MrD had sausages for lunch and it's making me really hungry!!

    :-)

FAB and welcome Lisa Jayne!! Nice to have another July bride on!! Wow at getting married in Italy - you are going to have stunning photos assuming you have a photographer? How are your plans coming on? Got anything other than the location sorted? We're all in different stages of planning on here, some (*cough* me *cough*) are so anal everything is planned down to the last detail. But others (far more sensibly) are taking things as they come. :)
Gorgeous shoes! You have saved so much money elsewhere you can splash out on your shoes :rotfl:and am i right in thinking you will be wearing a tea length dress (like me)? So your shoes are not going to be hidden away. Wear with pride and splash the cash!! You can always have them dyed after the event to go to something else you own. - see how i am trying to reamin mse there:rotfl:
Yep - I am wearing a tea-length dress too :) Which is why it's so important the shoes are perfect!! They want to be wow shoes not boring wedding shoes (which I felt the Else Chianti ones were), but not too much that they detract from my fabulous dress. (Actually dreamt sometime this week that it was ready!! Eeek!)

I found these in the new 2012 collection - they are called Melanie, perhaps its a sign i should get these too!!!!
Oooo they are soo pretty!! Lol I know what you mean though about namesakes - there is a dress by the same designer as my dress called Natalie - and I really wanted to try it on but my bridal shop didn't have it in stock. (I wouldn't have gone with it cause it wouldn't be able to be shortened into a tea-length dress).

Does your venue have a room that he could use the night before at a reduced price? I know it adds money to your budget but it may be worth considering. And as for pizza - that will so be me, I will crave one, eat one, then spend all night blubbing that I allowed myself to cave in and how fat I will look!! - I suffer from water retention and carbs like pizzas really affect me! Lol today was a trousers day because of that!

Some places have cottoned onto this and now will only give you back the current price rather than the original price you paid. It's usually written in their returns terms and conditions. But I agree - it would be a faff.

Right I think I might go get a yoghurt and see if I can work out why the house smells of food!! (Or whether it's just my imagination!)

Oh PS MrD's bigger belt arrived yesterday - how can there be such a difference between two sizes!! This one was way too big so he's agreed to stick to the smaller one - even though he can only do it up on the last hole (the bigger one he could do up on the first one!)
His cufflinks have arrived as well - they are nice - am pleased with them. They are fairly boring - BUT it does mean he can wear them again to my brother's wedding.

Oh I forgot to say - if the Rainbow Club shoes are too dark/ivory and I need them bleaching - then once they are bleached I wouldn't be able to then dye them afterwards. Unfortunately.
  • Welcome LisaJayne. Hows your plans coming along? Italy- your going to have an amazing wedding. Where in Italy?

Well On my lunch today I popped to boots as I found a clarins sample for reducing dark circles (got in a gift bag from the last wedding fair I went to), so I was chatting to the girl, and didnt say I had already been trialing it so she gave me a sample- so I can see if it works after a few more days of using. I also went to the Benefit counter- its just aswell I am skint otherwise I would have spent a lot! Anyway I asked about the oh la lift and she said its fab, its a make up necesity, but benefit have stopped doing it!! They had a few in stock so she used one to demo, but after trying some eye creams and foundations she said I would be better of using that for the dark circles, so I think each payday between now and the wedding Im going to treat myself to a new item of make up! I may also book in for a make over as they are free- so I can test how well their make up actually lasts on.

Oh im loving those shoes. FIngers crossed they are the right colour.

:jMel on it being 29 Fridays- its getting close now!

:) Sounds like a good plan Emma!!

Well last night it was a toss up between going for an 8k run and having a third night of eating takeaway - or missing the run and cooking tea (it was 7pm by the time MrD got home and was ready to do anything). So we went for cooking a sensible tea so I have been back on the wagon for 1 day. :D Felt much better this morning than I did yesterday morning!!

Right what wedding things can I do?! 5 weeks till I can post the invites :T
Although MrD annoyed me last night - lol we were talking about invites. and he said he would invite some of his work colleagues but that he'd stress that it was mainly family coming... I said something along the lines of well if you are going to tell them not to come why waste an invite on them!! My invites are far too nice to just chuck at someone who won't come, besides I'd rather send them to people we want to come!! lol I just didn't follow his logic!! We've basically got 5 invites (for around 7 people) to sort out. Lol am going to have to sit him down and get him to choose!

Ooo the sun keeps peaking out - I might go take some photos!! :D (I do need to do some housework though - booo! The house is a tip after one week of being back at work!)

PS I want my rainbow club shoes here NOW!! Lol stupid MSE drumming into me not to pay extra for fast delivery lol.
  • Het everyone! Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I dont think our guest list will be finalised this weekend. We are having a few friend 'issues' at the mo so I dont want to go and make any definate decisions until they are sorted. Plus oh is feeling a bit delicate as he went out last night!!

Oh I may get the 10 cameras that someone has liked on here for my kids activity, will run it by oh when he gets up!!

Well done on having the healthy dinner Natalie.

Training Run number 3: 8.08km in 51mins 46secs. :) Not bad although I'm now shattered!!

I did nothing weddingy today - I did the housework - grrr took me nearly twice as usual and I didn't do anything in depth just a quick once over. Then after that I sat and caught up on my TV programmes and played a little bit of poker lol. If it's sunny tomorrow I might take some photos - got the batteries on charge so the camera will work.

What else is everyone up to this weekend?
  • Well i think me and oh have decided our first dance song- we are going to keep it a complete secret, but I think it is very us (ie not all slow and romantic!!:rotfl:)

My friend has text me today, shes on a misson to sort out a hen weekend for me, no idea what it is, or what it involves (I love suprises but I hate the waiting and not knowing!!), all i know is the cost and the date and that it involves an activity on the saturday!!! Just need to try and get some numbers together to see if her idea is possible.

Well done the run Natalie- thats a fab timing and its really good you can cover that distance already.

We have had a lazy day today. Tomorrow one of my sisters is coming round and oh and her boyfriend are going to play golf and we are going to watch the christmas downton- i cant wait, Ive resisted watching it as shes been on holiday but I wouldnt be able to wait much longer!!

Oh that is brilliant (that you've chosen a first dance song) :) I bet you're really happy and excited now and if you hear it between now and then I bet you'll struggle to keep the grin off your face. Are you going to do any proper dance (like ballroomy type dancing) or just huggy swaying?

Yea I know I can run the distances - I can cover 10K - so even if I did no training for the Lincoln 10K I would be able to complete it. The training is more for comfort and speed really. :)

Tomorrow - got no plans :) Am hoping for a lay in. (MrD's alarm went off at 7:30 this morning and while I dozed for another hour it wasn't the same). Will have to do some school work at some point. But other than that. (Just hope it's blue sky and sun tomorrow so I can take photos for you all :) )
