  • well done Natalie - as organised as ever!!

Congratulations again Laura on the safe arrival of Erinna . . . shes is beautiful. :A

Exciting news for our new thread from me - H2B brought his wedding suit yesterday!!!!! It is grey with a lush dart stitch detail around the edging. We got it in the sale yesterday from Moss Bros. It was a close call with one from Next but the lining detail and waistcoat won us this one. I also feel H2B is very excited about his purchase as he announced on facebook! I love the fact he is really keen on getting married. So all I need to do now is source 2 lilac shirts and 2 deep purple ties so that H2B and son 'best man' match.

Also during this weddingy weekend i have taken the sample bouquet to the shop. They were very pleased and have asked for images of the BM one too and the buttoniere. So i have put them together today and photographed them to send along for their website. Internally excited!!

    How is everyone getting along??

Oh that is great news Melanie - lots of exciting things this weekend!! And great that your OH has put that he's sorted his suit out on his FB! :D
Great that the bridal shop is really keen on your button things - I'm not surprised though cause they are brilliant. I have said it before but the one thing that impresses me the most is your 'handle' on the bouquet. It is so neat and uniform, not lumpy and bumpy. :)

Well I was hoping to take some photos today but the sun, when it is out, is so low that I'm just not getting the light levels needed so I think they will have to wait till later on in the year. So I'm just waiting now - waiting for my shoes to come to see what they are like in real life (will take photos of them for you all); waiting for february half term to come so we can post our invites; waiting for the sun to shine stronger so I can take photos.

:) Just added you, LisaJayne6881, to the first post :T
  • Thanks for the kind words of encouragement Natalie.

I also forgot another wedding thing i got ticked off the list yesterday - I brought my underwear, well the pants, in the John Lewis sale! Probably more information than required for this post but hahaha. They are designer Tracy Boyd and were £25 down to £6. i mean who pays £25 for 1 pair of pants??!! I'd want a 10 pair pack for that. :rotfl: I don't need a bra or the top of the dress is so structured and boned you cant tell either way.

So i was thinking of buying a nice 'bridal' set to put on the morning after when we go for breakfast together and then travel to the airport.

:D Hurrah for cheap(er) knickers!! And I agree - the price of lingerie is extortionate - lol especially when you consider the actual amount of time you spend wearing it :rotfl:. I have got some Spanx to wear under my dress, but it really does very little in terms of pulling me in. (It's more to create a smooth silhouette so clothes slide over nicer). I have a (black lol) basque that really nips me in - so I was wondering about getting a bridal version - but my dress is boned and structured (and tie up) so I don't know how much it's needed. Something else that must wait till my dress is ready!! Argh more waiting! I am so not the patient type!

Oh Melanie - forgot to say - I think I'd put the feather on the other side of the buttons on your boutonniere. Just because if it was on the left lapel (right as you face them) I think it'd look better if the feather pointed away from the body. x

I have created us a new thread here:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/49993093#Comment_49993093
As there was quite a lot of very useful and relevant information still on the original thread, and because July is not that far away, it seemed more sensible to merge the two threads together and keep all the information together and just the one link in the index post. I've added a 'jump to link' in the OP's first post that takes you straight to the list that is now being updated by Mrs Drink.

Good luck to you all and I hope you have great July weddings ;)
