I have looked into wooden roses quite a bit and have some at home. Am thinking I will buy a premade one as would be easier and prob nicer. I am not a big fan of flowers and they are so overpriced for weddings.
I haven't really looked at invitations yet but am thinking of making my own as well, but am worried that they wont look very good.

Don't worry about it!! Honestly they are easy to make - especially when companies like PDA will sell you pre-creased card so all you have to do is decorate/print on them.

I've been looking at gala tents/gazebos - I think I'm going to relent and get us a 2x3m (or 3x3m) one to use, then sell on afterwards.

It does shock me how much flowers are for weddings!! At the wedding fayre today there was a nice single rose with a few pearls wand for a flower girl- £17.50!

Well after looking on ebay im thinking that black writing wont look as strange as I thought, and am thinking I may go for something like this:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SAMPLE-Personalised-Handmade-Evening-Invitations-Ribbon-/220749239291?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Celebrations_Occasions_ET&hash=item3365ae13fb

But without the pearls, or the writing at the bottom and with my cut out butterflies at the top with the pink paper showing through. Will have to have a practice and see how it looks. And see how well my printer (or my mums) takes the card for the invitations!! Oh and my envelopes will be plain cream!!

Oh I think they will be beautiful!! I think it's nice to have an 'accent' colour (black) along with your main colours (white and pink) :)

This is what I am planning as the centre pieces. My Mum is unsure about them as we are having sweets as favours. I think they look nice and is something that the guests will enjoy. What do you guys think xx

Ooo Scrummy!! You could have a 'sweets' theme :) Sweet bouquet and posies for your BMs, Sweet centre piece, tables named after your fave sweets, (I'm not very imaginative and I can't think of ought else)

I'm feeling a bit deflated today - got no weddingy things to plan/organise (found a place that does 3m x 3m gazebos for £25 delivered). Nothing I can do now until payday - see what is left over to look at paying for the accommodation of our Oct Half Term diving trip...then wait to see what is left over at the end of April to buy another little thing for the wedding.

Hey Tfutcher (im really sorry if youve told us your name, ive forgotten it if you have!!)- they look amazing, they are different, fun and yummy!

Well I spent a while £2.25 on wedding bits at lunchtime! I got 3 sheets of a1 card in a perfect pink, that were reduced to 50p each and I got 3 sheets of silver 'evening invitation' stickers that were reduced to 25p each (the evening invites wont be so posh as the daytime ones!!) Im going to cut the card into inserts for my invites.

Natalie- im sure we will need help finding bits as you do seem to be a bit of google queen! Thats a really good price for the gazebo.

    Oooo you can't beat a bargain!! :)

Yes I was really surprised by the price - if you put in 'marquee' you get ridiculous prices (hence thinking we couldn't afford it) but put in 'gazebo' and you get much cheaper ones. Perhaps cause marquees tend to have the walls to them - where as the one I've seen is just the four posts and a roof - perfect for a bit of shade if it's sunny, and a bit of protection if it rains for the smokers. It also comes with all ties and tent pegs so that is good. I have been looking at other things I could make to decorate:
Some sort of 'just married' banner stretching the whole of the bottom of our garden (although not sure if that is possible cause of the distance lol) Kinda like this one but less twee. http://www.etsy.com/listing/65247887/just-married-custom-colors-double?ref=sr_gallery_2&ga_search_query=decoration&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_category=paper_goods&ga_noautofacet=1&ga_page=15&ga_facet=handmade%2Fweddings%2Fdecoration
Also thinking of making some of these to hang up around the place - think they will go with the balloons nicely - and I can use up all the off cuts of the invite cards to make them with. http://www.etsy.com/listing/48731827/paper-shakespearean-garland-of-hearts These could also be tied to the gazebo's tie strings, to stop anyone tripping up over them.
I'm also thinking of a sign around the front of the house with an arrow to 'party' round the back.
I would like some sort of 'garden path' around the side of the house so show people the way - but not sure about candles just incase people do decide to bring their kiddie winks.

My name is Tracey. I have been googling all day to get an idea of costs for the small things, ehich all add up.
I am going to try to but something each month, no matter how little, to spread the cost out. xx

Natalie- those heart decs are lovely. The sign looks really nice aswell.

Its silly isnt how you need to get the correct wording to make sure you can get something for the best price!

Tracey- I think thats a good way to do it, Im thinking of doing the same.
