:T:j yaaaaaaaay - bet you are made up that you have booked your reception as well!! To be honest, whilst that may be more than you were hoping to spend it is a bargain in my eyes for what you've managed to get included. Mmm cake Vs dessert. Well my 'cake' is going to be my dessert - individual cheesecakes, but I do agree with you - I don't get the whole "they must take home a piece of wedding cake" thing... lol but perhaps I'm not the best person to ask since there is a lot about weddings that I shake my head over!

No weddingy things here. (again). Just enjoying reading the boards... the next thing really for me to sort out is the accommodation for our pre-honeymoon (lol this is what I've taken to call our Oct half term where we go and learn to dive). Oh one thing I could do is research more dark red/burgundy flowers since the company I was going to use has had a bad review on here recently... :S

Right I'm off to go watch Hairspray on DVD (MrD is out playing snooker so I'm in control of the box! And on Sunday he's of to Finland for a week so I can watch what I like then too!)

good to hear that your reception is booked.
Nothing wedding done on my part.
Am very stressed as have new laptop with no disc drive so brought one to install microsoft office and it is not working. Not good when I have uni work to do :mad:

Oh I didn't tell you guys - we got a wedding invite today. I won't describe it on here... just incase.. but it is so not as good as ours. :rotfl:

I am currently in my 2nd year of a history degree. On top of that I work 20 hours a week and also work in an infant school 1 morning a week for experience as that is my career goal. Now I am also planning a wedding. So much to do so little time. xx

Ooops I have just ordered some artificial flowers for my bouquet and the button holes... lol. (I have ordered 18 burgundy gerberas, 12 ivory ones, and 12 white ones... the ones I don't use will get sold on).

Silaqui:jon booking your venue. And I dont think your dessert idea would look cheap- a lot of people serve their wedding cake up as pudding and your idea isnt much different to that- infact Im sure a lot of people would prefer your suggestion (I know I would!!)

Oh Natalie do you have a link for where you got youve ordered your flowers? (my mil2b is doing mine but I would like a few recommended flower places just incase her work dont get the right colour in!!)

Well I've gone with silkweddingdesigns but they are the place that has recently had a poor review on here. I have gone via ebay so I have the protection from them. I'll let you know if the review is substantiated or whether they are any good. Certainly their pre-sales contact has been fine. I have used artificialplants in the past - have got some really nice fake tulips from them, but they are more expensive.

Eeek, had an indian last night and caught a view of myself in the mirror before I got undressed... and I looked 6 months pregnant!! I really suffer from water retention - I swell up like a balloon when I eat unrefined carbs. So I jumped on the scales this morning and... well I can't say it was a surprise cause I feel all yucky and bloated... and I'm now 22lbs above target - eeek!

Now I have 20 weeks till I go dress shopping so I am vowing (to myself) to get this back under control. Start to exercise regularly (rather than all or nothing), and stop eating bloody take aways cause I can't be arsed to cook! :rotfl: Some 'Slimmer of the Year Finalist' I am!! Not much of an example to the rest of the people on the diet! Who I'm meeting up with in 2 weeks lol.

So here I am.... laying everything on the table. 22lbs to go.
I have created my own little wedding board to help inspire me to behave. thought I'd share it with you guys too:


Okay onto weddingy things... I have created a mock up of the paper heart decoration using off cuts of card from my mock up invite. It looks really good - and MrD liked it too! So I will make a load of them to dangle all round outside at the party.

Today I received some of the choc favours I was talking about. We thought we would give them a test run.
They are awful and me and my mum could make them better.
