I have booked my florist! Absolutely AMAZING flowers, we got a half price package as they are having a one-week promotion! Can't believe they're available for our date!

It's more than we had planned to spend on flowers but OMG, the place is going to look incredible. :D It is way beyond what I had imagined we could afford, I am so ridiculously excited.

So far we've got the following:

    Church
    Reception venue
    Band
    Photographer
    Florist

That's all so far, but we will get there. Next thing to book: hair and makeup!

I am currently doing up our budget and guest list, eek!!!!!!!!!!!

    How is everyone else?

  • Wanchai- thats fab news about the florist. I dread to think what their full price packages would be like if the half price one is more than you were originally planning on spending!!

Have you decided what dress your going for yet?

Well I showed oh my 2 mock up invites- one with stick on flowers, and ribbon I already have and then one with the cut out butterflies and he preferred the butterfly ones- so ill have to go and get some matching pink ribbon- hobby craft do sell the perfect match so ill have to get that and then we can make them- once they are made ill attempt to set up a photo bucket account and post some pics!
  • Emma - I'm an Exams Officer at an all girls secondary school. Can't believe its Wednesday already and i've done nothing! Here is the wording we are using for our evening guests: Melanie and *** would like you to join them for an Evening Reception to celebrate their marriage on Friday 27th July 2012 at 7.00pm ***** Country House Hotel, *****. the day guests have a similar - Melanie and *** would love you to join them for their wedding at ***** Register office on Friday 27th July 2012 at 3.00pm. Celebration to follow at **** Country House Hotel, *****, rsvp etc etc
I have just typed up a letter for the venue we are cancelling. It was really hard keeping to the facts only and not ranting on how awful their service has been. We are going to hand it in today after we have paid our deposit for the new venue and await a reply!!

Wanchai - Yay to having the flowers sorted. Because I am only having flowers for the wedding breakfast tables i am just going to use my local florist. She has the most amazing shop and i could spend hours in there! Basically i will just go in a few weeks before and ask her to get all the blooms i need. I am only having really large headed flowers to cut short and put into jam jars and tins covered in fabric and ribbons.

    Hi all:)

Just looked at the list on the front page and saw that i started the thread in January - where has the time gone!!

Sorry havn't been around - been busy sorting baby things out. I cant believe i will be 31 weeks on Friday - again where has the gone!

My only wedding news is that i have emailed 3 companys about wedding hair and make-up. So hopefully will hear something back soon.
Went to OH's parents yesterday and she asked if we are sure we like the suits. I hadn't even given it a thought, so said we were happy. Then she asked about what colour the blokes buttonholes were so that they can match the carvats etc. I have looked on my florist booking details but it doesn't say what colour we are having. I think it may just be ivory. So, i think i may just give them a ring!

pbny24 - :jfor the dress. We do recquire pics:)
wanchai - great u booked the florist and :jfor the deal!
Melaine - Hope the visit went ok.

Well, we had quite a small flowers budget but I have been totally talked around to having lots of flowers and it is *really* amazing value for money, plus zero hassle for me as now I don't have to do my own pew ends etc! :T

No idea re dress, all the ones I like are sooo dear - have posted the current faves on the 'Find my dress' thread to see if anyone can find them cheaper. :o

Oooh, I love butterflies, glad your OH preferred them! :j:j:j

Oooh, I love jam jars, china cups, jugs etc - will be having all those with flowers in for my wedding! So simple yet so cute... and as for the tins with ribbons, ahhhh how lovely!

This is the dress, called geneva. Still got about 20% doubt as I'm
a bit of a chunker and a bit worried my hips might look massive haha. Trying the 30 day shred to see if it helps! Going to the cheaper shop to try on again and will try on a few more there but think it will be the one I get unless I totally love another straight away. Found this dress shopping so difficult!big decision! Hope the pictures aren't huge as can't tell on my phone

  • Im making my invites today!!:D And im having a very productive day so lets hope invite making goes just aswell!! I have already been out, popped to the sorting office to get my vistaprint order (very happy with them), car has gone to garage and mot has already been done (failed on tiny things so that should be fixed soon and not cost much) and ive printed 'Wedding Invitation' onto my day invites so they are ready to be made up!! Not bad going as its only 9.35!!

pnby- i love that dress, its stunning.

Melanie- thanks for the wording- that will really help me as I was clueless!!

LauraL- just think, this thread is well over 9 months old, and its gone quickly, so lets hope the next 9 months (one 1 day for me) go just as quickly!!

Wanchai- zero hassle is definately worth spending a bit more for! (we hadnt budgetted much for day food as we were going to do it, set up the hall etc, spoke to the venue and for £12 a head they will do everything for us, that was enough to convince us!!)

I know, you are right. We (I) had budgeted £300 for flowers and thought that that wouldn't get us much tbh... I didn't really mind, thought that I could do the pew ends and some of the venue flowers myself but the florist is so fab that I changed my mind and went for the package they offered! It normally costs £1,000 but they are doing it for £500 if you book this week! And it's limited to the first 15 bookings, so I went for it! :) £500 is sooo dear, but it's saved me doing my own pew ends, plus bits and pieces for the venue, so really it's not costing much more than the budget. And the no-hassle factor will be priceless in the week of the wedding, so everyone tells me lol! :rotfl: AND it will look absolutely stunning. :):):):)

OK, getting somewhere with my budget, will be ready to post it here soon for your comments.

pbny24 - fabulous dress, how much is it? Is it above your budget? xx
