It's £950 without haggling so about £150 more than I wanted to maximum spend initially but I love it. Been shopping around and trying to save on everything else so think I may just go for it as wouldn't want to get another because it's cheaper then wish I'd got that one
are you having favours wanchai? Can't think of anything else but then again I'm not very organised!
  • Hey Wanchai- Ive had a look at your list, just a couple of things (you may already have them covered, but Ive been finding its the smaller things that ive missed and although they arent expensive they do add up)
    * mens shirts, ties, shoes
    * Will bridesmaid be needing anything for her hair?
    * Are you having anything like sparkly for a toast and is this included in the wine/ corkage budget
    * Stationary- table plan, place names, post box etc
    * will you getting be thank you presents for anyone else? ie is anyone really helping you out (either money gift or doing you a huge favour?)
    * Will your dress need alterations and will this be included in the cost? will your dress need a petticoat?

If I think of anything else I will let you know but i doubt I will!

Looking at your budget Im feeling rather relieved that my corkage is only £3 a bottle (could possible be only £2 but the max it will be is £3)

Wanchai - did you factor in any costs for decorations? or would that be sorted by the venue?

also where are you staying on your wedding night? do you need a hotel etc?

Well, £950 isn't bad in the wacky world of wedding dresses, lol! And if you love it, you should go for it imho. Would you be considering selling it afterwards to recoup some of your costs?

    Oh, thanks for these!!

OH will probably need/want a new shirt and tie, no idea about shoes but I guess we could get him some new ones and they would do as work shoes afterwards as well.

BM will have her hair up but no headpiece. I might get her a set of earrings and necklace as her gift. :)

Nothing sparkly for the toast, corkage for bubbly is £10 a bottle (!!!) and most weddings we go to just have wine for the toast.

I've included the table plan, OOS, invites, RSVPs, place names, envelopes etc in the stationery cost. I will design them, then get a design-literate mate to typeset them and print them. What do we need a post box for????

We are getting a couple of favours from people so will have to budget for thank you gifts (I did intend to give them, just forgot to put them in the budget lol).

    Thanks again xx

Just went dress shopping this evening, tried on 2 FAB dresses, must post pics! Tell me what you reckon.

I notice you don't have anyone on 30th July 2012. Which is convenient, because my fiancee and I are getting married on that very day. In Cheshire, if you want a rough location.
