FutureCooper - it's great to have someone getting married around the same as you IRL, isn't it? :D I have a couple of engaged colleagues and friends, love talking about it!
Natalie- Im feel jealous enough as it is that you seem to reach a month milestone really quick and mine seems to take ages to come around, I dread to think how slowly the 11 days between your wedding and mine will go!:D

I may attempt to make the sweetie trees if they are too much- at least it would be tasty and fun trying to make them!

Ok things from your list you havent mentioned that you may want to think about:
    Hair
    Make up
    Mens suits
    flowers
    decorations
Decide on food choices/ drink etc

Thats all I can think of so far.

Thanks for that, I need a wedding planning diary and a spreadsheet! How's everyone else planning/costing theirs?

p.s. the last 11 days will FLY in, I promise, if my friends' wedding countdowns are anything to go by!

not wedding news, but today I had my twenty week scan. The baby is fine and we found out the sex, and it was a boy :D

Yay, congrats! What names are you thinking of? xx

Tracey glad the scan went well and congratulations on expecting a little boy - Maybe we could set our little ones up!!

Emma :j for ordering your rsvps and evening invites and good price too! glad your cheif bridesmaid like her shoes and they fit!
I want one of them sweet tress just for myself. I love sweets!

Melaine saw your pic of your pom pom on Fb and think they look fab

Alice :j for booking the photographer. Love your blog

weclome back wanchai. You've done alot already so don't panic theres still plenty of time! What date are you getting married i don't seem to have you on the list?

Natalie dont long now until Half term - i've had two colds this term as well. I'm booked in to have my flu jab soon so hopefully want suffer to must from colds/flu this year.

Finally got a plan re wedding invites. I've asked my sister MIL2B if would make them (as she makes cards and made my sisters invites and they we lovely) so will be meeting up her soon and will show the sort of idea i came up with. I don't think she will charge me too much either which is good:)OH is happy for her to do the invites, i think he could see that i was starting to get stressed/worried about the invites

Thanks Lauralou. :) Our date is Sat. 14 July (same as hezza86!), so glad to have it all booked!!! :j

  • Melanie- When we were going to do some daytime food ourselves my mum kept saying 'what about quiche' etc and I was like 'no, its our day and I cant stand quiche so no we wont be having it'!! She protested that everyone else liked it- but I refused!!

Well I reckon I would need 6 bottles for the toast so I thought Ill get all 6 bottles now and then if I see it on offer again closer to the time I may get 1 or 2 more just to be on safe side. I dont think we will have an arrival drink, we will be wanting people seated asap and there will be wine on the table or they can go the bar and buy whatever they want- we just dont have enough in our budget- do you think this is ok?

Wanchai- I have a spreadsheet with everything I need on there, then I researched and got estimate costs and then when I book something I update my spreadsheet with the proper cost, how much Ive paid and what is left to pay. With some things I thought about how much max I was willing to pay for something and have made sure I dont pay anymore than that. We are on a small budget so from the offset I worked out a price for everything to ensure I didnt go over on some things and not be able to afford other things, so far my approach seems to have worked!!:)

That sounds good, must do it now while things are relatively quiet and uncomplicated!! :) We have paid a couple of deposits so far and that's all. We're on a budget too, so need to keep an eye on expenditure! :o

p.s. I hate quiche as well, bleh!

Stick to your Quiche guns Emma!!! :rotfl:

I don't think arrival drinks are all that important. We have already decided that we would like some photos at the venue as they have a golf course and we are going to have fun shots of us 'playing' golf in our wedding attire!! My thinking was that if we give everyone a drink on arrival in the Hotel gardens they won't mind hanging around while we have a few pictures taken, then we can sit down for food and wine straight afterwards. We only have our photographer for 3 hours so i want to get as much in as i can before the breakfast.

Wanchai - i had a look at your blog last night . . the dresses look stunning but the dressmaking talk went straight over my head! haha. I too have created a spreadsheet and highlighted the things that are important to us on the day so we can budget well for that and then save on things that aren't as important. ie I have saved on flowers by making my own button bouquet and decorations and spent money on a live band as I know its what H2B really wants.

That's really good, yes, it's important to prioritise I think! :) Going to do a spreadsheet and budget tonight.

p.s. which blog of mine did you look at?

  • I think its Alice- XYZ (or something like that) who is making her dress and has the blog. Wanchai is having a vintage wedding and has posted some gorgeous lace dresses- its that correct or am I muddled???

Its ok, the venue caterers are doing our food now, so when I meet up with them in APril time I will try and make sure theres isnt too many eggy things- I hate egg!

Wanchai- to start with I would list everything you need to book, order buy etc, then I would start with all the important things that you want and put in prices for them, then I would go through everything else and work out realistic prices and then alter according to whether you over or under budget.

Right then, big budget time tonight and then I will report back here!! :D

  • Sorry wanchai, I did confuse you! It wasn't your blog I had read. . . . But I'm sure if you had a blog it would be brilliant. Haha.

Tracey - I don't think we've spoken to one another yet (I'm pretty new on this!) but congratulations to you and your OH!

Wow ladies - I can't believe you guys are already thinking about invites! that's very organised!

I'm pulling together a very detailed spreadsheet... and the number of tasks that are not yet green is scary!

Melanie - I'm glad you liked my blog and sorry about all the sewing talk! Now I'm feeling more confident with my dress (now that the bridesmaid dress went well) but I'm still struggling to decide on the final details of my dress! I think I will have some ruching/pleats details at the bodice but i can't decide on the fabric etc... need more inspirations!

Also I LOVE the look of the sweet tree! As we are having a sweets theme (no flower centre pieces - all sweets!) a sweet tree for the toptable would be excellent!

    Aw, thanks!!! :)

OK, had a bit of a domestic crisis earlier, then went out for a long walk (soooo need to lose weight) so cba doing a spreadsheet tonight. Sorry for being so crap! I will get around to it very soon!!! It will have red, amber and green bits too! :o

I am definitely leaning towards a round top table... thoughts?

I'm on the lookout for nice photo frames for our table plan, something like in this blog:

    http://www.littlemisswedding.co.uk/real-life-weddings/vintage-wedding-tea-party/

Also, not sure whether to do save the dates, am paranoid that nobody will be able to make it!

wxy - I haven't even got a dress or florist sorted, never mind invites!!! LOL.
