44 more Fridays to go!!!

So the theme seems to be we all want to lose that extra stone (or 2 in my case!). I do confess to dipping in and out of other Forums on here that are diet related but it would be nice to share amongst us July brides as our 'goal' dates will all be similar. I am 'trying' to lose 1lb a week from now until my H2B Xmas party (17/12) - 13 weeks away = 13lb weight loss. Thats a whole dress size!

Exciting news for me on the Wedding front - i have booked a Photographer! Yay . . . . i wasn't going to have one and just let our friends take photo's with our proper camera but we decided they might not know how to work out lighting etc and then we could potentially end up with dark pictures and also we want them to enjoy the day not running ragged trying to get good shots! So £300.00 for Register office pics through to the speeches and a fake cut of the cake. About 3 hours we reckon. Then she does photo enhancement (ie removes my double chin!) and we get all the shots on disc with copyright. She is going to do some of those storyboard photos for us and i have asked for a lot of B&W with shots of colour. I am also having some fun shots as i want our day to look we are enjoying it!! There are some benches across from the hotel and a bus stop the photographer is keen to use.
    Another box ticked.

I am also pleased to report that i have not opened the invitations since leaving the printers!
  • I do read the diet thread on here to get some tips and help feel motivated but I havent posted on there yet. I have a habit of doing well for a day or 2 then giving up and thinking 'oh ill start next monday!!' So for me to last 5 days is very good! Once I start it and am in the right mode I can do it, like last year I lost over a stone and was a comfy 12, but have put most of it back on so although Im still a size 12 Im a large 12! I dont want to be mega skinny- with these hips it isnt happening anyway!!:rotfl:. But I just want to be able to pick up a size 12 and not have to breathe in for it to fit, or to occasionally pick up a 10 in some things!

I think 1lb a week is very sensible target, I may try and stick to that aswell.

:jOn booking your photographer, sound like you have got a fab deal. Sounds like your going to have some fab pictures.

Well done on not opening the invites.
  • This is how a friend told me to look at a 'Diet week' to help with the sabotage thing we all do! (she has lost 3.5 stone on Slimming World and it working for her) - Imagine that each meal you eat is a flower. During a week you have 21 meals, each meal represents a flower = 21 flowers in the vase. You have a Pizza (this ones for you Natalie!!) and you remove just 1 flower from the vase leaving with you 20 lovely flowers. No real damage done your not going to wreck the display . . . . . . What you dont do is pick up all the flowers and throw them in the bin because 1 is dead and then wait til the end of the week before getting another 21.

I hope that reads ok . . . i kind of know what i'm trying to say! Basically have a yummy meal, enjoy it and get straight back on it with the next meal rather than the next day. Damage limitation.

Mind you, if faced with a huge bar of Galaxy right now, i'd eat that and the damn 21 flowers as well!!!!!!!!

    **WEDDING DRESS UPDATE**

I went back and tried on my two favourite (so far) Justin Alexander dresses... think one of them might be The One!!!!!!!!!! OMG I am so excited! Can it *be* this easy????

Going dress shopping with mum tomorrow, then another couple of shops with a friend next week. Cannot bl00dy wait. It is such good fun!

FutureCooper - fab diet analogy!!! :j
Grrr- I posted on here before I went to bed but my netbook was on a go slow last night and it obviously didnt post it!!

    It said something like:

    Natalie- are you having pizza!!?

Vic- What kind of back does the dress have, is it lace up, buttoned etc? And also well done on the bargains, and thats very kind about your family member- I would accept as much as you feel comfortable taking, if you dont feel 100% in accepting all the money maybe compromise on them paying for certain aspects.

Wanchai- do you have a real name? I want to lose about a stone aswell, so definately share your trials and tribulations and we can encourage and motivate each other.

Yes, I do have a real name :rotfl: but am not going to use it on here as it is not that common. Hope that's ok?

Yep thats fine, I have an unusual name aswell so know exactly how you feel (and I have requested to the July 2012 brides that Im friends with on facebook that they only ever call me Emma on here) but luckily most people call me Emma anyway which is obviously very common!!

:jat almost picking your dress, I think they are both stunning. Let us know how you get on tomorrow.
  • Hey all
Havn't been on for ages as have felt awful all week and yesterday got worse i ended up in the antinatel day assessment unti at the maternity hospital as Thursday i woke up with pain on my right side of bump and it got worse throughout the day. At the end of work i was really struggling and felt like crying with the pain. So got home had a bath still painful so ring a midwife who said ring the day assessment unti and they said come back to see them. So me and OH went down waited a while to be seen. seen by a midwife who said it could be muscle pain. Anyway had to wait ages saw a doctor who said it could be appendicitis but more likely musclar. So was told i could go home at 2.30 in the morning, we arrived at 7.30!
    Anyway sorry enough about me!

wanchai yay for finding a dress you like. I have added you to the list
    Michelle really like the flowers
    melaine :jfor booking the photographer
Vic if you really love the dress then buy it and how kind of your family member.

p.s Would some1(or serveral people) be able to keep the list updated for me? As i not sure how often i'll be popping on for a while. All you need to do is if someone new arrives copy the list from my first post and add them in. Thank you

Hey Laura, hope you feel better soon and everything is ok xxxx

Like most of you, I am dieting too. It is taking a planned backseat from now till after next weekend (although I'm not going overboard, just not making a huge effort) because I currently have no way of exercising. It sounds like excuses :p but because of the move I've cancelled my gym membership, the DVD player is down the tip, and I can't run on pavement because of my dodgy ankle (snapped a ligament years ago playing tennis so on hard surfaces it won't support me very well).

My plan is that when I move back to my mums I am going to make her do aquafit with me and then go normal swimming twice a week. I have a set of my own weights so I will just do a little weight routine and maybe a bit of wii fit at home on the off days. The closest gym to theirs is one of those posh ones that costs like £60 a month and I won't pay it!

I want to lose about a stone before the wedding. I'm a large 16 at the minute and I want to get to a 14-16. Partly because my dress is a 16 so can't really go smaller (lol) and partly because (don't mean this big headed) I actually look good at that size - at a size 14 I have a proper hourglass figure whereas when I was thinner I didn't really have much of a bum and my boobs disappeared, I like a bit of cleavage on myself lol!

Talking of boobs, I found this site the other day which has some bridal type lingerie in the clearance section - I bought THIS to try with my dress to see if the back is low enough. I rang them and they said they do accept returns for items like that, and a tenner will be a bargain if it fits. Worth a look possibly if anyone needs undies!

Hope you are all ok - I am shattered! We had plans to go out tonight but have scrapped that for a bottle of wine in front of the telly!

    xx

  • LauraL- hope your feeling better soon, make sure you take it easy and look after yourself.

Mel- I know what you mean about having curves and liking them, I like being a size 12, ive been smaller before (but hardly ate and wasnt very healthy) and a few people commented that I looked ill, so I am happy being a 12, I just dont want to have a flabby belly and bum on honeymoon!:rotfl: .Thank you for the link, Ive seen some lovely bikinis on there that Im tempted to order, will have a proper look tomorrow, and they are bargains, especially for cupped ones which I usually find are expensive, and the postage isnt much either. The item you got is very nice, I would have been tempted to order that if they had my size (maybe for the honeymoon!:p). I pay £40 a month- and thats enought to make me drag my backside there a few times a week to get my moneys worth!!:D

LauraL- I dont mind keeping the list up to date, what would I do just update it and then post it when new people join, then if you do get on here you can then copy and paste it back to the front page??

    Morning all!

I have been up since 6am sorting stuff out in the flat, packing and cleaning and stuff and am currently having a well deserved cuppa!

Talking of updating the list and the front page and stuff, how often is it meant to be that you have to start a new thread? I know on the PAD thread they had to start a new one every so often but can't remember how often it was, does it go by posts or pages?

I had a despatched email for my underwear yesterday lol so am hoping at arrives at my mum's house today so I can try it with my dress later. Regretting this low back thing because all the suitable underwear is either out of stock or really expensive - tried one of the bra adapters where it crosses round the front and I wouldn't feel comfortable in it - I like my boobs to be locked in place! :rotfl: Those ones really reduce the support. If nothing else I will prob get the wonderbra ultimate one and just safety pin it down at the back lol.

Right off to go and bleach the bathroom now before the estate agent lady comes round to do the inspection (I have strategically placed moving boxes in front of the dent in the wall that I haven't filled yet :D:cool:)

Have a good day everyone xx
