Emma and Tracey (and any1 else down south!) I got an email today about a wedding fayre at Southampton Guildhall next Thursday. Im happy to pass on the email as it gives you free admission.
  • LauraL- oh yes please, not sure if we have plans but if we dont I may take a trip, shall I inbox you my email? Hope your feeling better soon. What kind of things happened? (just so we all know what not to do!!:rotfl:)

:jon getting a new netbook, i got treated to one by oh at the start of the year and I love it- bil2b was meant to get me some uggs while gigging in australia but didnt end up getting me any so oh treated me to a netbook instead!!:D
  • Really sorry its next thursday 5-9.30 did u still want me to email you!
Umm.. there wasnt really anywhere to put cards (so def going to get a postbox), there wasnt much toast wine - even tho i wasn't drinking it anyway they only filled my glass just under a quarter. There was too much bits on the table so u couldnt move the veg round easily. Also, after the meal everyone stayed in the room so they were trying to set the room up ready for the evening but couldnt really as people were in the way and the evening started but they were still moving the chairs around. And there was no1 to announce the start off speeches or cutting the cake. I know they are only minor things but just didn't run as smootly as the other wedding!
  • And obviously not as smoothly as yours will run!!:D

I have a postbox so its good to hear that from experience you think its a good thing to have.
Hmmm, Im trying to think who I can use to announce the speeches etc, as I hadnt thought about that.
Im going to have a giant jenga so may chuck everyone outside for 10 mins while we pull the tables apart and re arrange the room for the evening.

Its really useful to have little tips like this as its little touches like this that help the day run smoothly and that I may well forget to organise if Im not prompted!! If anyone else has any more tips please share.:)
  • Hey guys,

I have finally booked my hair/make up person. In the end I decided to go with the women that I met a while ago. In the long run even though we had an issue with the first meeting she is really nice and has loads of ideas about what we can do.

At the moment I feel terrible I have had a cold for a long time and now have a headache and ear ache. Think my sinuses might be blocked. Will have to check with my midwife as not sure if I can take anything to help.

Lauralou: I might try to pop into that wedding fayre as live in Southampton so would be convinent and not been to one yet. Do you want me to PM you my email address xx

Hi Wanchai! :) Oooo do come back and tell u all how your wedding dress shopping goes!! PLEASE don't worry about being organised or not. Now I'm back at school I just don't have the time to spend on weddingy things. (Which is really saddening - I want weddingy things to do not worky things!)

Really sorry for not being about more at the moment everyone - lol and it doesn't look like my hecticness at school is going to subside any time soon either.

The good news is that my diet is going brilliantly - my fitness is pretty much back to where it was before the summer holiday. I have eaten sensibly since the Wednesday before I went back to school apart from one night when we went out for a meal (to 'celebrate' the first week back at school being over lol).

Asda has just come with all the food for this weekends BBQ - I am now panicking that 2 fridges and 2 freezers aren't going to be enough for the wedding buffet for 50 people when I've bought so much for just 6 of us at the BBQ!!! Ha!!

Right off to go write up three reports. (About 9 pages of writing in total).
:) Is it bed time yet?!
  • Welcome Wanchai. Do not feel panicked, you have plenty of time to organise everything. How did your dress shopping go? I see from your thread you already have a lovely monsoon dress as reserve.

Ouch Ouch Ouch- thats the noise I make everytime I move today!!:rotfl:. I ache so much from the treadmill yesterday- I usually do half hr cross trainer but did half hr treadmill and I so hurt today! I did however drag myself to the gym again today after work and just about managed a fairly decent work out- will be having tomorrow and friday off I think then will go saturday and Sunday!

Im still pleased with myself for healthy eating- havent been tempted by anything naughty yet!! I do find it easier to be good when its cold as I can have soup for lunch which really fills me up.
  • Evening all.

    :jfor eating healthy!

Welcome Wanchai. Don't worry you still have plenty of time to do everything. Let me know your date and i'll add you to the list:)Hope the dress shopping went well.

Tracey did u want to PM me your email and i'll send it to you. Ive got sore throat, which is slowly turning into a cough/cold. I went to the doctors Monday and there isn't really much u can. You can take paracetomol (but i havnt as not too kend on taking it), honey and lemon is ok and the doctor said pineapple juice is meant to be good. Give you midwife a ring and ask if you feel really mad.
  • Hi wanchai . . . Are you the same bride that's having a vintage style wedding in ireland?? If so I have read your thread!

Shattered tonight and nothing wedding done but I have my invites to shop for at the weekend so still smiling. Annoyed that I have been 100% on the diet and stayed the same:(. Miffed but I am going to stick it out. I am NOT having my dress made bigger.
