Afternoon . . . most weddingy thing done today is purchase some purple buttons from ebay ready to start the BM button bouquet. Having chosen the BM dress, she is going for the long one (i sooo knew she would!) i now have the colour theme to follow along with my buttons. The venue is currently painted in purple and lilac and as it has only recently been decorated they have assured me it won't be altered before our wedding - so decided on lilac and pink flowers and napkins etc for the tables.

That's what I did - I let my sister pick a dress that she liked for her BM dress (I would have been able to veto if it was horrible lol) then used that for the colour! Great that your venue will match!

I haven't really thought about corsages or buttonholes, I'm sure OH will want one though (he wants everything lol) so I'll prob have to look into getting one for him. Only thing is, if he has one, his brother (the best man) will have to have one, and he's bound to want his dad to have one which means my dad will have to have one, which means I have to pay for 4 buttonholes instead of just one!

I think flower wise I'm going to go for white, it's easier then and goes with everything!

We've had a hectic weekend starting to get some of our stuff into storage, the big move is only 2 weeks away and already my mum is starting to get on my nerves - she has asked me three times this week what my plans are for savings and stuff, I know by moving in with them to try and save up I am kind of opening myself up to that and she does have a right to know what the plans are, but it kind of feels like she doesn't trust me to do it because she keeps asking. Sorry for complaining! :rotfl:

Nothing else weddingy done - I am currently on the lookout for a low back bra/basque type thing, and hair accessories. I know I'm going to have my hair half up half down, but not sure whether to accessorise with a hairband over the front kind of like THIS or with a clip at the back like THIS. I do want a bit of height to it at the back.

I should also probably try out a few make up looks - obviously eyeliner is a given :D but I need to decide on the overall look. I need a bit of smoke because I wear quite dark eyes everyday, but I will need to tone it down a bit so it doesn't overpower the ivory dress. Will have to get practicing and taking some photos for you all to judge lol!

    xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o
  • Mel- I really like both hair dos that you linked. If I was having mine down I think it would be very similar to the 2nd one.

Ive been looking at hair pictures today to try and get an idea of what I want, and im still clueless!!:rotfl: I think i will go for some the kind of bun but not sure if it will be a normal bun or a side so bun, but I also want to make sure the have some height at the front so i look different to how I usually do from the front as I normally wear my hair up.

Mel, complain away- we dont mind on here!

Absolutely agree with Emma - complain away Mel :)

(Sorry for the short post - lol you'll understand why on FB lol)

  • Complain away! Were all in together etc etc . . .

Love both pieces Emma, so I'm no use!! I always wear my hair down and hairdresser thinks I should keep it down as its 'me' but I will have a lot going on around my shoulders with a lace bolero so I think I'll need my hair up and off my neck for full effect. Thoughts???
Perhaps I should photo it so you see what I mean. (any excuse to try my dress on again!!).
  • Melanie- i definately think you should try your dress on and take a pic with your hair up and then with your hair down. My intial gut reaction is that some kind of bun would look fab with the tea length dress and bolero (in my head it kind of goes with the style) BUT things look different on different people so you may find on you the outfit looks better with your hair down, I think its a case of experimenting- and we will all help give our opinions- but the most important thing is that you feel like you and comfortable.

Im thinking hair up would be better for me as curls tend to drop in a natural wave as my hair is so thick and if its straight I worry if it rains, is windy or humid my hair will frizz and be a mess so am thinking at least if its up it will look fab and in place all day!!:D I really like it when people have it curled and swept to the side but not sure if that is very me, plus 2 or the last 3 weddings I have been to the brides have had their hair like this.

    44 weeks to go :) :T

Got another busy day today - running a staff meeting after school, will get home with about 15 mins to get changed for Yoga. Then get back from that around 7:45, will then do tea (mackerel mmmm!)

    No weddingy news. :(

Eeek on Saturday our parents are meeting for the first time (well our mums - my mum has met MrD's dad in passing before). We're doing a BBQ lol so how much shall we bet that it rains?
