Natalie - i can't believe your parents haven't met after all these years you have been with your OH. Good luck with BBQ, if the weather fails you'll have to do that British thing and get the men to cook under umbrella's whilst the women watch admiringly from the safety of the kitchen! That said my mum isn't likely to meet H2B's parents at all . . . . they live opposite ends of the country and we live in the middle. Not 100% certain his parents will even be coming
lauraR - great bargain find with the glasses. You could even go as far making your own wine glass tags and you keep those forever too
I have had an email from the printers to say my invitations are ready for collection . . . . .oooh the temptation to put them together now!! Must resist, Must resist, Must resist. I'm sure i'll post pics of examples when i get the ribbon i want to wrap around them. Going to try Hobbycraft for this, although they are quite expensive i need to get the right match for the paper inserts and i can't match off ebay.0 -
:jat it only being 44 weeks- that doesnt sound long at all. And you have your holiday in a few weeks so im sure once thats here the time will go even quicker!
Good luck with the parents meeting, i cant believe how long youve been together and they have never met! Im sure it will all gone, and fingers crossed the weather will be nice.
Well Im on day 2 of trying to be good this week and Im doing ok!! Im trying to stick to a small bowl of fruit and fibre and a piece of fruit for breakfast, soup for lunch and then any snacks are healthy ones like fruit or low fat yoghurts!! Im finding it hard and am trying to resist salted popcorn which I am currently addicted to!!:rotfl:
:jMelanie for the invites being ready and good luck at resisting putting them all together!!:D0 -
Hi all!
Nice glasses Laura, what a bargain! Like the idea of writing Bride and Groom on them
I'll keep my fingers crossed for the weather for you Natalie but I'll wish for rain because it always tends to do the opposite of what I want!
Well done on sticking to your diet Emma - I've been really good until a couple of hours ago - I popped into Aldi to pick up some mushrooms to go with dinner, but while I was in there I saw that they do a fake version of my absolute favourite ever chocolate bar that you can normally only get in Germany! So I just had to buy some but they come in packs of ten - I've eaten 4 of them:o:o It's been soooo long though! If anyone wants to try them the aldi version is called Choceur Milk Chocolate and hazelnut wafers - the real things are called Duplo and they are AMAZING!!!:rotfl: OMG I have just got so excited about chocolate!!!
Can't believe it is only 40 odd weeks till next July  that is coming up so fast!

OMG- i think my legs may drop off!! Ive just got in from the gym and im shattered and my legs are aching already!! I did the treadmill today for 30 mins instead of the cross trainer so I can feel it so much on my legs! Im pleased with myself though- I picked oh from his car share today and he was going to bail out of coming to the gym, but as I was the one driving I insisted we went- and afterwards we both said how much we enjoyed it today so have agreed to encourage each other- and drag the other one there when they dont want to go!!
I may have to try them when Im next due a treat!!
I know, time is going so quick, it will be 2012 before we know it!!:D0 -
Picked up my invites. They look all perfect in their wrapping. Going to leave them sealed til I at least get the ribbon I want! Then who knows how long I'll resist!!
I have just downloaded 'My OK! Wedding' app on my iPhone. Its like a whole new wedding thing to do and it was free!!0 -
lol Melanie can I be a little devil and say DO THEM NOW!!! lol well okay I'll let you wait till have you the ribbon, but as soon as you get that (ie you MUST go this weekend) then you HAVE to make a mock up and take a piccie for us!!
I'm hoping the weather this weekend will be lovely - but if all else fails we'll just eat it under the awning. We're racing up at Cadwell this weekend, so it gives everyone something to do during the last few hours of the afternoon before the BBQ - watch the racing. It'll give the men something to talk about (My mums boyf is very shy and doesn't speak much at the best of times)... lol while they stand around the BBQ poking it with a stick lol. I did think it was only fair the mums got to meet each other before the big day lol - takes one anxiety away from them bothLol think I've already said it but they can both talk hats lol.
Emma - wow well done on going to the gym, and even better for dragging your OH!! I think my biggest weakness is I'm so easily swayed, if MrD can't be arsed to go for a run with me, or can't be arsed to cook, I soon cave in and follow suit. Lol I don't think no - I'll go for a run on my own, or I'll go and sort tea out then. So I'm very impressed you made the right decision.
As for the craving salted popcorn, unfortunately it'll be the salt your body is craving, but I bet if you can last, I don't know, a fortnight without it you'll stop wanting it less, and then if you lasted say a month without it I bet you wouldn't like it half as much as you currently do. (Although this doesn't seem to be working with Marshmallows... did anyone see James Martin on Saturday making his own - mmmm!)
Mmm Mel!! I love a wafer biscuit from greece called Caprice (other imitations do exist). It's a tube of wafer filled with a soft hazelnut chocolate creamy type thing. They are sooo scrummy!! When we go to a greek island we always get a couple of tubes to take back to the room with us Ha!!
Right looks like MrD is staying at his mums cunningly so I have to do tea on my tod lol. Watch it - he'll walk in just as I'm serving it with an innocent look on his face!0 -
Melanie- once youve given in and opened the invites you must show us some pictures!!
What that app all about?
Well I havent done anything weddingy today but while in tesco I picked up some mega bargains that Im going to put by for the honeymoon! I got 2 dresses, 3 vest tops, a pair of shorts and 2 dresses (oh and a work shirt!) for a grand total of £14 (original prices would have cost me over £80!!), and one of the dresses was one Ive had my eye on for ages but couldnt justify £25 just for the sake of it (cost me £6 today!!:D)0 -

I am exactly the same! I have no willpower to do things on my own - if we've made plans to go to the gym, I can be all joggered up and ready but if he comes home and says he can't be arsed then I won't either!
That's good Emma, big savings! I love the sales - rarely buy anything full price, I'm such a cheapskate!
I've just been doing an AMAZING tracking sheet for work I'm so proud of it lol! But now I have some other work to do that's less enjoyable then playing with spreadsheets and formulas so as you can tell I'm procrastinating on the MSE forums!

I never usually have any willpower, but we didnt go yesterday as I was way to tired so I knew we had to go, if oh have been driving I think he would have driven us home! Ill be going tomorrow aswell- if I ache too much from the running I did today ill go for a swim!!
Mel- im the same, especially as you guarantee 9 times out of 10 that it will be reduced the next week! It was silly prices in tesco, I got 2 vest that were reduced from £6 each to 75p each, 1 reduced to 50p, shorts were like £1.25, I think one of the dresses was £3.50, it will be ideal for honeymoon!! I love a bargain!!0 -
