See I think that even if your 'proper' photos are done by a professional, surely the getting ready type ones would be much more fun if they are spur of the moment ones taken by you and your people? Just leave digital or disposable cameras everywhere and tell everyone to take a picture every time they remember, you'll end up with loads of brilliant ones and they will be hilarious, not just the poncy 'gazing into the mirror/bridesmaids laughing' ones that a photographer would get!
:TThats a really good idea- thanks for this idea, may well do this.
Thats a lovely dress. But I get what you mean about wedding dress models!!0 -
I will see what I can do for you.0

Oooo lots of us on here chatting - how lovely is this!! (ha and even better I'm home alone so I can indulge my wedding addiction nicely!)
Silaqui - ha!! I have totally forgotten your name now you've said that!! You know what - you are totally right - about the whole taking photos thing. Now I feel really funny about asking my mum to take photos during the ceremony - really hope her boyf comes so he can do it lol. MrD races motorbikes at an amateur level. On the races where I'm concentrating on getting the perfect photo I can never tell him his final position, how fast he was going, whether he looked good etc. All I can tell him is whether I managed to get the photo I was after (like him at full lean angle round a certain corner). But when I put the camera down I can really get into it so much better..... lol writing all this down makes me think perhaps it'd be best if we actually did get a professional photographer - even if it's just for that 30 mins during the registry ceremony. I expect lots of our guests to have their own photos during the party - I plan on giving them all a writable CD to burn all their photos for us. So that will be covered. But now I'm worried about spoiling it for my mum.
As for the dress - don't rule out strapless dresses - a good seamstress would be able to add some straps on for you. But then it depends on how you want the body part to be.
I saw some really hideous models posing wedding dresses - I can't remember who the designer was (lol I've been to far too many websites). The girls were all really thin, and they stood with their shoulders hunched forwards making their collarbones stand out even more. Hideous - I'll go through my history and see if I can find it.0 -
And yes - piccies piccies piccies!!
Can never have enough of them if you ask me!

All this chatting isnt good for me though- im meant to be getting home insurance quotes- but its so boring compared to talking about wedding bits with all of you!!
Natalie- you may find as your getting married on a weekday you could get a good deal with a photographer for just the ceremony.0 -

*whispers*
Well I've made a start on my OU work (lol about time - can't believe it's Friday already - where has half term gone). I'm just about to have a break - and pop into town to get some cheese for tonights tea (we're off to the to-be-in-laws - I'm baking a Jamie Oliver's Steak, guiness, and cheese pie - yum).
So Emma did you get your contract sent off? (I'm being a good girl doing my work, so there is no excuses for you lol). And did you manage to get your insurance quotes sorted?
I had a lovely email off my mum this morning (late last night). Saying she doesn't mind taking a few snaps for us. She also said her boyf hasn't said he is definitely not coming. She said if he does come it'd be the first wedding/funeral/christening she's ever known him attend, and they've been together for nearly 20 years. (I'd be so strangely honoured I think it'd actually make me cry!)

I have had a strange day.
On the good note I have narrowed the dress down to a choice of two. really exciting.
On a bad note had a silly arguement with my sister. I think it was the stress of things me liking one thing and them another. In the long run I will listen to their opinions but it is mine and my oh big days and we need to be happy with what is happening.
How was everyone elses day0
