How about this to help decide? Google "wedding photos list of shots" there are loads of websites out there. Then have a look down the list and ask yourself which of the shots you could do yourself, which you could ask a family member to do (I'm hoping my mum will take my photos, or her boyf if he comes), and which you'd need someone else to do. Some of them could be staged prior to the day. (Even if it does 'spoil' the romance of it - lol for example I am considering taking my dress to my mums before the wedding - and getting her to tie it up (I want a corset style back) and asking her boyf to take a close up of it.0

Tfutcher- what a tough decision you have to make.
I know I found it hard as ours does hrly rates so I couldnt decide how many hrs to have him for,( i can increase at any time which is good to know), but in the end I decided just a couple of hrs so that the ceremony will be covered. I ruled out getting ready photos cos I could well be stressing and stropping if things dont go right timewise etc and i decided against reception photos because I decided I would just want to be relaxing and enjoying the afternoon, not worrying how teethy I look (Im not very photogenic and unposed photos of me are awful and generally teethy!! :rotfl:), so thats how I decided, i think you need to work out what you want, and how important photos are to you (im not really into photos which also helped my decision). I do think though that they do seem a reasonable deal- and its good youve found someone you really like them and their work.:T0 -
tfutcher glad you found a photographer. That is a big price difference between the two. We are spending more on the photographer then we orginally planned but we are happy with who we are having and the service they are providing us.
Pinkprincess i hope to come back on here tomorrow to find you have sent your booking form:rotfl:
Ive booked an appointment to try my dress on again:j and i will def take a photo this time:D0 -
:j at trying the dress on again- when is that? we will want pictures!!
Hehe, i just read that and completely skipped the part aimed at me until I went to reply and suddenly saw my name!! I will, its just he wants me to print it and then signed it and scan it back to him which mean 2 things 1) having to go use my main pc which the printer and scanner are linked to and 2) work out how I scan it back in and email it over!:rotfl:And well i just keep putting it off! I may just print it, sign it and shove it in the post with a cheque for the deposit!! (which would then save me having to faff about doing a bank transfer!!)0 -
evening all,
I have just met with a wedding photographer who I really like. Just have to work out which package to go for. They are
...
This will cover photos of me getting ready as well as ceremony and reception. Also includes two photographers for the whole day
decisions to be madeSee.... I don't 'do' photos. BUT if I did, and if I was going to have a formal photographer - AND I could afford it I would want someone to capture every moment of the day.
See I think that even if your 'proper' photos are done by a professional, surely the getting ready type ones would be much more fun if they are spur of the moment ones taken by you and your people? Just leave digital or disposable cameras everywhere and tell everyone to take a picture every time they remember, you'll end up with loads of brilliant ones and they will be hilarious, not just the poncy 'gazing into the mirror/bridesmaids laughing' ones that a photographer would get!
And it'll only cost you a few quid extra, not hundreds!
I hate having my photo taken and I never take photos - I sometimes find that you do something or go somewhere and all you can remember of it is taking the photos, not the feeling of actually being there! I made that mistake at the Take That ultimate tour, I can barely remember it (or maybe that was the alcohol...) so on subsequent tours I just took a few snaps and then put the camera safely away!
Ah I see PinkPrincess (sorry I know you've all said names but I can never remember!) that was a bargain then! Yeah you'll have to have a look.
I have been trying to get into the wedding spirit, hence trying to spend a bit more time here to let your enthusiasm rub off :rotfl: and did some sneaky dress googling earlier today, everything seems to be strapless though and I HATE strapless clothes. I did quite like the one in the pic with the V neck but not sure if it would fall right on me as the girl in the picture has no boobs...
Also why do wedding dress models always pose like this...

think I am going to sleep on it and discuss it with my mum tom. My OH says it is up to me.
One good thing is I get to try on the dresses tom and hopefully narrow it down to the one I want. So excited :j0 -
See I'm now getting super jealous that some of you have found your dresses!! Lol I want a dress I can go and try on randomly lol. (Emma god knows how you manage to not go to visit your dress and have 101 sneaky peeks!!)
(PS I've just emailed my mum asking if she'd like to/mind taking our photos - lol the ones at the party I think we'll be able to take ourselves - amongst all the ones our guests take and I then borrow. But I won't be able to be in the ceremony and take photos at the same time lol I need a body double!).0 -
