:j I did manage to get my car sorted. My nearest Peugeot dealership were great really. They did it under the recall - only charged me for the broken wiper blade. They took me to school in the morning and dropped my car off in the afternoon. Couldn't have asked for a better service really. Oh and they cleaned the car inside and out! :j

I had made a decision regarding our wedding. I am going to have a bouquet. Originally I thought what was the point - waste of money - after all I'd only be holding it for around 15 mins or so. But I spoke to the MIL2B and she made the suggestion of taking it to my Grandma's grave. So I will be having a bouquet. My Grandma will be with me during the day anyway (Her engagement ring stones are in my 30th birthday ring), but this will be a nice way for her to join us in the celebration. She'd have been sooo proud that MrD is marrying me - lol. She loved him! So now I'm looking for ideas... I've seen this bouquet which looks fairy informal but lovely at the same time. I think with the deep red colour and whatever colour my dress is it'd look fab. Lol so I need to get dress shopping so I can confirm the colours don't I?!

Ooops image is waaaaay too big (and annoying)

Fab news PinkPrincess83 about the photographer!! Ooo I want to see the colour you've chosen!! :T:T At being able to get buying little bits and bobs that colour match!! You're a step ahead of me aren't you :rotfl:

PS :T Yay it's half term!! (Can't remember who else is a teacher on here!)

I'm a teacher :j Sooo ready for half term the kids have been irritating me all week because it was coursework deadline yesterday.

Not been on here much because I just can not be bothered with all this wedding carp! I think it's because I don't really want a big wedding, I can't get excited about anything! I've never dreamed of a certain colour scheme or dress or type of cake or whatever, so nothing is really inspiring me.

We think we might have a venue but (can't remember if I have already posted this) they only hold about 90 max (although they are trying to get an extension) and we could do with about 130 thanks to OH's HUGE family - I'm thinking of just booking it and being ruthless with the guest list(!)because it is a lovely pub in a nice location. They will do a BBQ or hogroast with loads of trimmings for about £15 per person too which isn't bad.

The problem is once we booked it we will have to actually start making decisions on other things! The whole getting engaged thing was much more fun than the actual wedding :o. He proposed on Rita at Alton Towers :T (But I kinda forced him into it because he was planning to propose on the London Eye with a champagne flight but we were watching a TV prog about it a few weeks earlier and I started ranting about how pathetic and unoriginal it is and it's such a generic way to propose and obviously blokes that do it don't really know their girlfriends to do something so impersonal.... I'm not the most romantic of people!) So he changed his mind and did it properly lol :rotfl:

Thanks good about your window wipers, I love it when they clean your car after something minor :D
    xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o

Cor I don't miss coursework (used to be secondary maths - but now I'm peripatetic I don't have any of that). Have you got much to do over half term or can you relax?

It is scary really. I never wanted to get married, never saw the point in it. Then about 5 years ago I had a really rubbish job (really should have called the unions in) and I realised how great MrD was and how much I wanted us to be 'proper'. He didn't agree though lol. It was only Feb last year where I finally managed to persuade him that being a real family was important to me. :rotfl: But then things were left on a backburner, I didn't really think about it much... then we set the date (well it was already set really - there was only one day I wanted to get married on)... I booked the registry office. Then one day in the car driving to a race track (he races motorbikes at amateur level) we got chatting about what sort of 'do' we wanted - which meant I was able to start to picture the wedding. I could start to imagine the sort of dress I'd like, and really everything has grown from there. It is scary how 'into it' I am now!! Considering 10 years ago if you'd asked me whether we were going to get married I'd have told you to .... off.

:rotfl: I know what I'd do.... book it and tell him to whittle his side of the guests down. MrD also has a ridiculously big extended family. He doesn't actually know off the top of his head how many cousins he has... my thought is he can invite his family members we actually have regular contact with. :) One advantage of paying for it all ourselves - we get to call all the shots.

:rotfl: I bet he was crapping it when you were slagging off what he was going to do!! I wasn't 'proposed' to. It took him 4 years for him to say yes to me lol.
  • Thats good about them sorting your car and it not costing you much- and even better that they cleaned it aswell!!

Its a proper bright cerise pink!! Its fab! I went into my local fabric shop and a similar one was £10 a metre:eek: but i found this one online for £6 a metre, so just need to find out how much they will cost to be made before I decide this is the route to take.

Oh those flowers are lovely MrsDrink- gerberas are my fave. WOuld you but it ready made or make it yourself? Hows the invite making coming along?

I was thinking of making it myself - pricing it up it'd be cheaper to make it myself. Plus I could be sure to get the perfect colours. I haven't touched the invites since we made the decision on the actual ones we'll use :). I'll make them in a years time - Feb half term 2012. (I should do OU work this half term rather than spend every minute googling weddings lol).

Fab about your MSE fabric being so much cheaper!!
  • Oh- I missed the post where you said you had decided which invites you were going for, thats good youve decided and you can then pick them up closer to the time.

Yes, reckon it wouldnt be that hard to make- and would be cheaper to do yourself- and at least that way you can get it exactly how you want it.

Yes and looking at the samples the quality is about the same (I think the shop I went to have a huge profit mark up!!)

Ah maybe I hadn't said - we're going to go for this one:

I have jiggled about with the writing though - like I've removed '2012' because a) it was only on the ceremony date not the party date, and b) it'll be 2012 when I give them out. I will need to create a party online invite but it'll be the same style.

I have booked me and my mum into one bridal shop for dress shopping on the 30th July this year - god that is sooo long away - no idea if I will manage to wait that long lol. Have started a thread to find out if other people have recommendations about other bridal shops.

Who are you getting to make your bridesmaids dresses? Is the place you're getting the material from doing them or are you getting someone else to do it?
  • Oh those invites are lovely.

That does seem ages away but will definately come around quickly.

Well my mum has a friend who is a dressmaker so im waiting at the mo for her to give me a quote. If it comes back too much then Ill have to have another think. Im hoping it wont as this will be the better option because of having such an age gap between the 2 bridesmaids so getting them made will mean I can get them made tp suit their ages.
  • hiya not been on for a while had a poorly DS and trying to find a venue!!!

Which i found. Its a love pub/restraunt i went to a wedding there in 2004 and it was lovely never thought id be able to aford it! but its really good pricewise. we might go over our budget a little as they dont supply a DJ and other venues have but would be well worth it. i can also get married there too so thats a bonus as they have lovely gardens :) im going to go within the next month and have a chat with them!
