Haven't really thought of my new surname - it's quite common so no issues with it!!
Those wooden letters sound fab! Great idea.
I'm currently trying to find cars and a videographer. I'm asking my bridesmaids one week from today aswell! Excited. met up with 2 of them last night and I hate not being able to ask them!! But, it will be better with them alltogether!!!!!
Hope everyone has a good day! xx:j:j Getting married 28th July 2012 :j:j0 -
My new surname will mean I'm double M (my mum and dad didn't bless me with a middle name). Am thinking of sticking with my middle name for professional reasons, and using married name for anything else.
Only 46 days till I'm living in my pink tent for two weeks... I'm getting quite excited about the camp it's stopping me from getting on with my work - if I'm this bad about a Scout Jamboree, what am I going to be like when I start counting down to the wedding.....0 -

Well my big brother has said he will make me some "Mr & Mrs" wooden letters - hurrah!!
He has said he can't do the engraving on the fork & spoon but would like to buy us them as a wedding present - so even though I've said we don't want gifts I'm accepting this - hurrah!! - BUT now Mel had me thinking last night - I'm going to suggest he does as Mel said - I've found a style of cutlery you can buy loose, and then take it to a key cutter for engravingBobs your uncle! It also means I can get a really nice substantial set rather than a flimsy one.
Big brothers have their uses!

Have just found out that one of my bridesmaids is 14 weeks pregnant. I am really happy about this (she is my cousin) and have had my suspicions that she was.
The only thing is it causes a small issue with the dresses. The ones I am planning to get take 6 months to make. One of my other bridesmaids is pregnant at the moment and is due in July. The plan was to get the dresses in October to give her time to lose some weight. We cant do this now as my cousin will be 8 months pregnant and can't do it after she gives birth as does not give us long enough.
I don't kniw what to do.
To reiterate I am happy that she is pregnant and not moaning about that fact just trying to work out what to do about the dresses

Oh that is so hard Tracey! Could you perhaps get her normal size plus one or two sizes - then if after she's had her baby it is too big then you could get it taken in.0

Tracey i cant help too much but (if all being well) i'm due 5 days aftet my sisters wedding!! At the moment we are going to wait until august to see how things are progressing with my pregnancy and maybe order another dress in a material that is quite 'floaty' and will not show to much of a bump!0

Could you go shopping for bridesmaid dresses now just to decided on style/colour and then get the bm that has just got pregnant measured now, and measure the other one after she has her baby? I'm sure the shop would be understanding.
MrsD that's great news about your brother making the Mr and Mrs wooden letters and getting you the engravings as a wedding present!!
Getting frustrated at the minute trying to find a videographer. One of my friends has given me a number of the woman that did hers but she is never home!!! I've had a quote from another one, but apparently he is very 'in your face' and OTT. I think I'd prefer someone who we didn't even realise was there. A few others I've contacted are booked on the day already, and one other is available but won't stay any later than the speeches. We're getting married in Pembrokeshire so wondering how far they would travel??!!
Anyway, hope everyone has a good day :-) xx:j:j Getting married 28th July 2012 :j:j0 -
thanks for the advice guys. Am going to speak to my cousin next week and see when she would prefer to get the dress. I want to make her feel comfortable.
Today I was meant to see a hairdresser/make up artist. I first contacted her by text message and then the rest of the contact has been by email. When I last spoke to her sheadv she would text me if running late. It got until 10 minutes after the scheduled appointment and she was not here. I checked my emails to make sure I had the date right. She emailed me at 12.30 cancelling the appoinment and wanting to rearrange. I am slightly annoyed that she did not text me as I do not always check my emails, and had waited in to meet her. Would you guys be annoyed to?0 -
To be honest yes I would be annoyed! To send an email at the very most a few hours before the actual appointment isn't on - as she has your phone number I would have expected a phone call out of respect! (Doesn't matter whether your contact to date has been via text or email). Mmm not sure I'd trust her enough to do it on the day.... but then this is only one part of it. Who is she? Did she come recommended?
I've had an 'okay' day - usual running round like a blue arsed fly. On serious count down till we break up - I'm so tired and I've only been back for three days!! It's like half term never happened!
I want something weddingy to sort out!! I have been looking at all the alcohol and freaking out that it won't be enough... when in reality I'm probably completely over estimating everything cause there will be some drivers who won't drink much/any. At least that's what I keep telling myself!! For our 53 guests (including MrD and I) for a 7 hr party - starting at 5, rounding things up at 1am I'm budgetting around £450 - an increase of £150. This should hopefully also fund the soft drinks, and drinks for the BBQ after the ceremony... hopefully. EEEEEK! Am hoping plenty of people will 'bring a bottle' as a back up lol.0 -
Tracey- I would be annoyed, I hate being left down at the last minute, and emailing isnt a great way of letting you know- I personally am useless at checking mine. How did you hear about her? Was she recommended? If youve heard great things about her I would think about a 2nd chance, but if shes just someone youve found online I would think about finding someone else.0
