  • Rang on tuesday saying wished to cancel as had cheap broadband offer from BT (true), and was going to switch to freeview to save money. I was offered 6 months 1/2 price TV but tied into Sky for 12 months. No mention reduction on BB ( have reduced rate Connect as not in Sky area and major mess up on account when I moved house). Said I would think about it.
Phoned today and said had done the figures and over the year worked out cheaper with BT. Man I spoke to offered 6 months 1/2 price TV with definitely no further tie in and said to phone back in April (when connect goes back to full rate) and see what they could do for BB!

    Happy all round!
  • Just got off the phone with a nice man from Sky. He offered me 50% saving for 6 months on main box, nothing on multiroom. No tie in. Told me to ring back towards the end of the 6 month period to see what offers were going then.

    Very happy with that!
  • well i got the offer a few weeks back, also changed my dd date as it was in the middle of the month, i usually only pay 40 odd quid, now i have half price and new muti room (not yet connected) today they try and take 77.50 from my bank:mad: !!!!!!!
i rang them and they have no idea hoiw the amount was caculated, advised me to cancel my dd so it didnt automatically represent (there was no money in my acc) until they could look into it...great was meant to be saving money!
bet they will charge me for bounced dd too!

Another thing is im paying£ 15 permonth broadband with them yet there advertised rates are £5 and £12.50, for broadband with sky package, and ive been paying £15 for ages....wonder why???

I rang them today and said i was a new customer. Said that my 'friends' had been offered half price tv and was this available to me? He said no because it's only open to sky employees and their friends/family. Would've thought they'd want new customers but seemingly not!
  • Hi all,

Phoned up sky today after being knocked back about a week ago. I explained that I was thinking about joining Virgin and the guy said he will see what we can do. On hold for a few minutes and came back with 50% off TV package for 6 months. We have the full package with HD for £62.50 a month, so its a very good result!!!!!

Thanks to the OP, if you get knocked back try again!

If they offered people month half price I bet the majority of you would have said yes. I think Sky have had the last laugh here.
