I think its Karma, before the parcel was due you were fearing the worst and were sure they were going to mess it up. The universe has responded by giving you what you expected
Ha ha, what should I do now, then? Maybe send them some good vibes and hope they'll deliver my parcel.. sometime!!
As you've probably gathered it's still not arrived.0 -
must say I have never had a problem with hermes...must be the delivery drivers in certain areas...so think positive feedback should be given to the drivers that do deliver on time thank you0

I have now waited a total of 33 hours for a Hermes courier to come and collect 6 items from my house for delivery around the country.
Given that they expect you to be in from 8am to 9pm but do not have the courtesy to let you know an approximate time, morning, afternoon or evening, this is really very very cynical customer service.
They take your money and then they expect you to wait and wait and wait and wait and wait at their convenience.
This is now 7 hours into the 3rd day of waiting. Since each day is 13 hours I have now waited 33 hours.
What other business would treat its customers like this?
NEVER USE HERMES COURIERS!0 -
I hate narrow minded idiots who post these "I had a problem so nobody in the world should use them" type posts. It's pathetic. Every business in the world would have shut down if we all listened to you people. Delivery issues can be for dozens of reasons. People who are nagging the company every five minutes without waiting out the specified delivery time are actually slowing things up, the more people who nag, the longer it takes to get things done. Not rocket science for most of us but these idiots don't seem to get it. You know the type, they moan that their bus is late then spend 5 minutes having a pop at the driver because he's late, making the bus even later.
We have sent over 8,000 parcels with Hermes over a three year period and only ever had a couple of genuine missing items claims. Overall I think they run an excellent service.
You have to remember that they have always been one of the cheapest services, if not THE cheapest and as many people have mentioned, they do not use dedicated professional drivers. You get what you pay for.
If you don't want to wait in all day, or you want your parcels collected at a specific time, or you want a more professional service with professional drivers then use one. You get what you pay for. It's the same old crap you want something for nothing but want top class service too. It doesn't work. You wouldn't do a professional job for peanuts (if you have any sense) so don't expect it from other people. You get what you pay for.
As for the clown in the marketing company, try having a proper meeting with your bosses as they may not realise how bad the situation is. I can also tell you that a large number of claims will be false ones. A lot of scammers don't realise that because they didn't have to sign for an item they think they can pretend they didn't get it and nobody can prove otherwise. No way would a delivery company survive if they had to pay out that many claims. I have to say though that marketing and distribution companies are the easiest to scam because in my experience most of them are clueless when it comes to logistics.0 -
My local Hermes courier is the best! I love when I see that my parcel is going to be delivered by Hermes as I know it will arrive promptly and safely.
I've also used them to send parcels, way cheaper than Royal Mail.0 -
Have only used once, they were fast but rubbish - the item arrived damaged despite me taken over an hour to package and make blast proof. Forget taking out insurance, it's pointless - when I made a claim which took another hour to lodge, they weren't interested at all and used every conceivable reason not to compensate. I lost £45 and about 3 hours of my life!
I would never recommend the use of their services to anyone. If you do use them, expect to be frustrated if you lose your item or it arrives to it's destination as damaged.0 -
On 22 April I dropped off a parcel at a Hermes parcel shop. This was
confirmed on their website in my account. According to that same account it was
out for delivery with the recipient's local courier on 25 April and was
subsequently delivered AND SIGNED FOR at 12.50 on that day. On 27 April I
received a message via Ebay from the customer, asking me to
send the parcel! After further exchanges she said on 5 May that "Hermes have
been in contact with me and the man who normally delivers parcels tells me that
he did not drop off a parcel at my house on the 25th of April" On the same day I
received an email from Hermes saying that the parcel had not been found and I
was invited to make a claim for the sale price of the item plus the Hermes
charge of £5.79.
Hermes wrote to describe the behaviour of their courier as
'inappropriate' and went on to say that the courier's field manager would be contacted but that the content of discussions would have to remin confidential. There seems little doubt in my mind that someone was concealing the truth. If the courier behaved inappropraitely he must have been
in possession of the parcel as is stated in my account on the website. If it was
delivered and signed for, either the customer was lying or if it was not
delivered to the correct address then it must have been delivered to the wrong
address or stolen/lost by the courier who would then have had to falsify a
signature.
I asked for clarification.
I then received a reply from Hermes saying again that the parcel was lost and apologising for the "miscommunication" in their last email. I asked them to tell me what was the 'miscommunication' in question and despite several repeat requests have still to receive anything but a stock reply. I have now received th same email 6 times and there is clearly no intention on their part to satisfy my concern.
It is apparent that there has been a criminal act, either the parcel was received and a refund from me is being asked for dishonestly or the courier stole/lost the parcel and falsified the signature that was said on the web site to have been obtained on delivery at 12.50 on 25th April. I can't believe that Hermes have been unable to establish the whereabouts of the parcel and can not accept their unwillingness to explain why they claimed it had been signed for and delivered if it had not. They say now that they will refund me in 14 days if the parcel is not found ..but only the final value plus the postage cost of £5.79. They refuse to accept a claim for the Ebay selling fees and/or the packaging costs (tapes. labels, printing costs, packing etc) or the petrol taking the parcel to the collection point. I shall therefore be out-of-pocket because of their incompetence and through no fault of my own.
I am obliged to refund the customer, if the parcel did not
arrive but I need to know what has happened to it in order to decide what is the
right thing to do. I need to know Who is responsible for the theft/loss of the parcel. I
believe they are in a position to answer that question but they refuse ot tell me.
I would not recommend this company and shall never go near them again.. It seems to me that , their tracking system is open to abuse, their support team is uninterested in resolving problems and too badly organised to assist in any way except to frustrate and their couriers are not all unreliable.0 -

Where were your petrol, tape etc costs coming from if not the final value plus postage costs?
Refund the buyer,put through s mutual cancellation.0 -
Mcaraco - You are receiving the full value of the item plus a refund of the postage costs!. If the item was not lost you would have had to pay your postage costs.
This means that you are actually benefitting from this situation so you should be happy!. When you start mentioning that you want a refund of fuel costs and packing it just shows that you fail to understand the situation, so I'm not surprised they are not replying to you !0
