Afternoon all,
Haven't had time to read the whole thread as DD is poorly, she seemed fine this morning as we popped to the library, but she's complaining of a headache, so have given her some paracetamol and hope it's not the start of anything nasty.
I've got dinner sorted for tonight, chicken fajitas, yum yum.
Am going to really get going with OS as soon as I do my next big shop, be more organised etc."Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little." Edmund Burke

Afternoon all,
Welcome Adamsmummy
Redruby where did you get your sheets from, that's exactly what I've been looking for?
Well I have been so busy today cooking, cleaning and washing. Feel guilty if I sit down as OH is outside under the car in the rain trying to fix it. Probably should take him out a cuppa:A
Gorgeous meat and potato pie waiting to go in the oven for tea. Think I will also make a batch of twinks as we are very low on the biscuit front.
Just caught up with Hustle in between the cleaning and cooking:o

Thankyou to Jackie G and Flutterby for enlightening me. Lucky DG but we have sun here this afternoon too. Sorry to those struggling with the snow and rain.
Im just back to bed for my afternoon snooze now. Very laborious day as Im renewing my DLA and I HATE filling in the form - writing down all my deficiencies. We have to do it in small chunks but its hanging over me like a dark cloud and is very depressing.
Well I have one son who is starving himself in protest as I have not done an online shop this week and stocked up with goodies. There is plenty of good food in the house but he wont see it that way. We really do have to economise this month and I want to use up my stores so am being creative. All I keep hearing is him in the kitchen, madly opening cupboard doors and the fridge in the hope that some food has materialised. Im going to get some cakes made tomorrow so he will be happy then but in the meantime he thinks his throat has been cut:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Well im off to surf and snooze xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Been out to collect my food processor - gosh, it's a big a baby elephant! Took me a while to work things out, it's got three different sized bowls, but have now successfully and happily chopped 1kg of carrots in about 3 minutes flat.
Carrots are now bubbliing their way to becoming carrot and coriander soup - the bag was only 50p at Sainsburys.
Also went to the farm shop to sweep the shelves of bacon for the freezer. Then went to the charity shop to unload some more stuff and then to the tip with loads of cardboard. So much for me time
NOW it's me time! :j:j Hot frothy coffee and feet will most definitely be up in 5 minutes time.0 -
ButterflyBrain - we will be going to the police if it's not been returned to us on Weds. - shall also be calling the pawn shop as we have proof of ownership and in form them they've been handling stolen goods.
Whipsnade!! That is such a great idea!
My online shop is here! i am v. impressed. Paid for the 8 hour slot as is £2 and got here 4 hours into the wait. So can now get on with my day, OH is surprisingly in a good mood so after lunch (late one!) we are going to take the pupster for a long walk.
Put an ipod and laptop on ebay to try and get shifted of. I got a new ipod touch for my birthday and downloaded an ebay app. It's amazing you can take the photos on it and load it all online straight away!! Hopefully they sell..
OH has a days work next week and is going to quote for a job so should have a few things bubbling soon.
I've added a few more recipes to my filofax that i've found online (always see great things and lose them!) so will add them to some meal planning in weeks to come. Will search for more this afternoon too!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Afternoon All
Welcome to Adamsmummy and huge hugs to all those not doing so well.
Took DS2 back to Uni yesterday afternoon (Edinburgh). The drive there was ok, we went for something to eat and came out of the restaurant into a blizzard. The journey home was a nightmare, snow and freezing temperatures and then the windscreen washers froze, felt like I was driving blind. Eventually managed to stop to put water on and wash it! Got home about 9pm and was exhausted.
Got up fairly early today, did a few jobs and then went back to bed to watch a DVD. Have done 3 loads of washing, cleaned the bathroom, cleaned and lit the fires and made some yummy spicy parsnip soup. Just having a sit down now but it's soooo cold, may have to get DDs fluffy blanky to put round me for a while.
Enjoy your Saturdays. Take care XX0 -
Hi all
Nice to see some sunshine:D:D
Did some grocery shopping this morning, stopped up on Aldi's 39p stuff and got some YSd potato cakes at Mr Ts - yum yum! Quite a few bogofs too so stocked up on some things. Mince ready for a batch of chilli sometime. Also got some Christmassy things reduced from Mr Ts - reindeer antler deelyboppers (I'm sure there's a more 'official' name for them:rotfl:) for 12p, lovely sparkly favour bags and the 3 for 2 offer still applied.
WM been on. Need to make bread - parmesan and sun dried tomato I think.
Currently turfed out my material cupboard and being ruthless - a pile for the charity shop and a pile of tat too. Do enjoy sorting through it though cos you always find that bit of an old sleeve or trouser leg of a piece of clothing from years ago
Chicken something for dinner but haven't yet decided what - can you tell I don't meal plan
Hope everyone has a good weekend
