Just to reiterate, from personal experience they were no cheaper than I could find myself.

Got a call from Lee on 01162253841 yesterday. My new 'best friend' offered a trial subscription for £1. She sounded offended when I refused to provide my bank details over the phone until I checked them out!
I'm looking forward to her calling back next week!
    Great forum - thanks!

    oh my gawd!!
i just had a phone call from the money club, 1 pound today and then 98 quid per year for membership.
they gave me the old "its coming up to Christmas, you can save money on the kids things"
so i said im not going to use it enough to warrant the yearly fee and she said but its just a pound for the first 4 weeks. of course its just a pound but by then you have my bank details lol

  • I have just had a phone call from them, giving me some spiel about saving money and buying at trade prices. They asked if I was still living at the address they had on their system, which I don't know how they got, but it was an old address that I haven't lived at in over 5 years. They then wanted my new address and my bank details so that they could send me out a trial pack and said it would only cost £1 for a 4 week trial and that they would refund the £1 at the end of it. Sounded a bit fishy so I just said I didn't have the details to hand to give her. Am glad I looked it up on here and I definitely won't be giving them any info! I can't afford to have nearly £100 taken out of my bank account, especially since I probably won't be making many purchases that I would save that on anyway.

I would definitely advise people to steer clear by the sounds of it. I will continue to shop around myself and keep an eye out for offers on as I currently do. It may take a little longer, but at least I know I'm not being conned out of any money.
  • I had a call today at 9pm from this number 01162253841saying they had sent me info out i had asked for ?? I have recived nothing nor had i asked for anything. She asked if i still lived at ....... an i said Yes, i dont know how she knew where i lived. She started going on about how for just £1 for a 4 week trial she could saves me lots of money for Xmas, i told her i am sorted an dont need anything, she then said they have recently saved a man over £100 on a fridge he wanted, his cheepest price was £390 or somthin from comet, so they went direct to wholesale an get it for £198 saving him lots of £££££ , i still wasnt taken in by this, an she never asked me if wanted to go ahead with this order. She asked me my email address which for some reason i did give her, an she asked who i Banked with, i said Halifax, she then proceed to ask for my sort code , so i said hang on, i didnt say i wanted to go ahead with this... She then put fone down on me.... Very Very dodgey indeed...Thnik they are targeting people with less money in hope they will save money over xmas period !!!!!!!!! x
  • I had a call this afternoon offering me the same terms as above, when I refused the offer hhe asked me why I was being so rude! So i decided to be rude and put the phone down!
  • Just had a call today from 01162253841 - The Money club.....same spiel as others have reported, just £1 for trail, and you'll get that back if you decide its not for you.......
The woman I spoke to was very polite, but carried on regardless when I told her I had no purchases coming up, no I can't afford any holidays etc.
At the end of it I just told her they would be wasting their money sending anything out to me!
She said I'd entered my details on a shopper/survey site??? Not that I am aware of - BUT - I have just bought something from Zavvi.....and on the final page was a box that looked like it was part of Zavvi, but took you thru to The Money Club. Are they in cahoots??

I got a call at work today on my mobile. I heard them out .... more out of curiosity than anything else. When they asked for my details I politely said I needed to do some research before I would consider signing up... i.e check them out on here.

They promised to ring back tomorrow.... it will be a brief call!!

  • I keep getting harassed by this telephone number 01753 441520 - put it into google and came to this thread. I refuse to answer after reading the posts on here! In fact ive literally just had a phone call from them and they have obviously forgotten to hang up after I didn't answer, and accidentally left a voicemail in which they're saying to a colleague 'can't believe I haven't got one today, no stupid ones..' charming!
