April 2012 Brides and Grooms

hi everyone! I have been awake since silly o clock this morning after serious wedding nightmares! So daft really as I am more organised thant I was a few weeks ago but still panicking that the days are fast running out.
After a slightly disastorous bridesmaid dress shopping trip last weekend I came home and found some bridesmaid dresses on ebay, I have bought them and they arrived and they fit and look lovely! I couldn't find anything in the shops which was close to what I wanted (Debenhams had some in sort of the right style but they were the wrong colour and v.v.v. expensive!). I have bought these off ebay
For best woman: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120816998136?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
For bridesmaids http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360412333218?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2648
My bridemaids are happy with them, and so I am I as they were a bargain!
I also managed to get the 'mini flower girls' dresses from monsoon in the sale for £10.50 each (baby nieces who will be 14 months and 4 months at the wedding!). Now i just need to get 2 flower girl dresses for two 4 year olds, and another bridesmaid/flower girl dress for a 10 year old! Oh, and a suit for an 8 year old page boy/groomsman!
Choch addict - I don't have walking in music yet either, it'll be classical proably but I don't know what. We aren't having a church wedding so don't have to think about hymns etc. We do have our first dance music decided.
Sunnyjolls - the list of 'little bits' is the thing I am losing sleep over - I keep dreaming of arriving at the wedding and there is nothing at all as I haven't organised all the decorations etc! Today my mission is to decide on what decorations I am having, and what I need to get for them
I have my wedding dress alterations booked on 1st Feburary - I have until then to find shoes!Trying to be good and watch the pennies, but guilty of falling off the wagon every so often!

Choc-addict sounds like you are getting lots planned!
I am also finding there are so many little bits to do. Each time I think I have done most of them I remember a load more! Feels like it is never ending. I have no idea what I will do with all my free time after the wedding!!0 -
Hi guys! How is everyone?
This weekend has been super productive, managed to sort the following -
First two nights accommodation http://www.lythehill.co.uk/ for those who are intrested
Car to take us from reception to first nights accommodation
Now know (roughly) order of service although i'm undecided as what to enter into church with so many nice pieces, only thing I do know is don't want traditional wedding march.
Have got bridesmaids onto searching for their shoes and flower girl outfits (leaving it until now as they are growing girls)
Photographer (saving us £££'S!!) which is amazing
Need to re-jig the finances now and see where we're at. Again still hopefully that no debt will be incurred if we carry on as we are0 -
I always forget about this part of the forum!
We are getting married on 21st April. Its scary how fast the time is going! Sometimes I think I am organised, other days I think I must be the most disorganised bride there is!
I don't have my dress yet. That's because I am on the chunkier side and I have been dieting. However, the time has come I think, where I need to start trying dresses on. I am going to Celebration Village later on this week. Has anybody been there?
Other things left to sort are cake (probably M & S), rings, OH outfits (he's buying probably from Greenwoods) and honeymoon. Although that will have to be done on the last minute when we know how much money is left in the pot!0 -
Hello all April brides,
Just to say hello and that I've joined you from the November board, as we've brought forward the wedding since we've found out I'm pregnant. Nothing is really organised, except we have a new date with the venue, photographer and flowers. Somewhat luckily my dress is purchased second hand so that's going in to be altered in early Feb.
What else do I need to be thinking about?!0 -

:T We're date twins, I'm also 21st!!! Ridiculously scary how soon it will be here. I think I'm going to make a list tonight, I'm doing ok ish, but trying my best to not end up with much to do near to the actual day, as I don't want to be rushing about!!0 -
We're 14th April and I can't believe how quickly it's coming around (and how much there still is to do!!!)
Jobs still to do:
Get men measured for suits
Design and print table names
Design and print personalised wine bottle labels and stick to wine bottles
Design and print Orders of Service
Dry loads more flowers for confetti
Buy flower girls' dresses and shoes
Buy presents for ushers (cufflinks)
Make vouchers for presents for Best Man and parents
Buy present for Chief Bridesmaid (Pandora bracelet charm)
Buy all soft drinks needed (already bought all the booze!)
Confirm details with photographer, DJ etc
Make thank you cards for wedding party
Register gift list
Jobs we can only do when all RSVPs are back:
Book coaches for guests
Do seating plan
Make last few favours (wine glass charms with guests' initials)
Write placecards
Do activity bags for kids
We've put 14th Feb for our RSVP deadline and I'm getting impatient, we've only had about 1/3 of our replies back so far!0 -

Welcome Kab403 - and congratulations! :T
I don't have much advice on what to be thinking about as I am pretty unorganised myself. As long as you've got you, your other half and your guests all in the same place at the same time then that's the main stuff sorted - everything else is just detail!
I assume by venue you have sorted food, drink etc?
Have you informed all parties such as registrar etc about the change of date?
You will probably find you join us April brides just as organised at this stage as you would have been about 3 months before November! There is nothing like time presure to give you focusThe reality of someone texting me on saturday and saying 'this time in 12 weeks...' made my heart skip a beat!
Trying to be good and watch the pennies, but guilty of falling off the wagon every so often!

Hi ladies,
All your plans seem to be coming on amazingly! I can't believe how fast this last year has gone!
Got an appointment on Sat to sort out the centrepieces and then final registrar meeting at the end of Feb! Scary how much is done but yet so much left to do! ha ha.
I bought some mini canvases for table numbers which i need to paint and do the table plan (genius idea of buying cheap photo frames and nailing them to a board - so much less hassle than sticking!).
How annoying is it when you get hardly any rsvps back!!! The scots family have pretty much all rsvp'd but oh family have hardly started! Going to be a nice long month of chasing in Feb! I'm excited to get all the day time ppl rsvp'd so i can sort seating plans earlier.
And i lost enough weight to get back into my wedding dress which has shocked me! My mams done the alterations to pin it up for the evening and the BM are getting the final alterations as we speak!
Now the only thing i'm struggling with is a song to walk the aisle to! Any suggestions??? I have the signing register and walking back out but cannot think of a song to walk down too... What have you ladies chosen?
Not long now!
xxx:DStolen the OH's account so it's Jenna - not Neil:D0 -
I'm going down the ailse to Ice Dance by Danny Elfman, aka from Edward Scissorhands! We're getting married in a hotel and really didnt like the pretentiousness of some of the music that people push you towards, ie Pashabells etc! XMarried the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012.
