Almost date triplets!
We sent out our invites with Xmas cards as wanted to avoid double postage costs :money:. Have 12 back already all incorrectly completed!
Getting on to the cake now - my cake maker (was doing it for free) may not be able to make the wedding due to uni and I'm gutted...0 -
Good idea on the christmas card and saving postage. We sadly weren't that organised and hadn't finished them to be able to send out. Frustrating on the incorrectly filled replies...hoping ours will be ok they just have to let us know if they are coming and which (if any) are veggies....can't be that hard can it??
Hoping to send out our invites this week - woo hoo! If i'm honest can't wait to get rid of the things, hectic to make ourselves (hindsight is a wonderful thing!) and the guest list has caused nothing but misery so i'll be glad to get rid once and for all! Then hopefully the rest will be plain sailing :-) x0 -
I'm hoping to send out our invites this week as well, just need to finish them off
. Really been disorganised over the last month so i'm going to have a hardcore wedding week.
Main thing I am really struggling with is wedding transport. What is everyone else doing?
I did not want to go down the vintage car route, just isn't me. I was looking for something a little more unusual. Have seen the odd company that hires VW beetles, but it looks like the cost well over £250. Really begrudge spending so much for a car that is only driving me a few miles, and will only be doing one trip as we having the ceremony/reception at the same place. Did try self hire but they don't seem to do it in my area on funky looking cars. If anyone knows of anywhere in north west (wigan area) then please please let me know.
Hows everyone elses plans going? xx0 -
I found Christmas really took over last month and wedding planning took a back seat. However yesterday I had an sudden panic when I realised how much there is still to do! And there is only 14 and a half weeks to go!!!
We need to:
give notice - can't be done until after 14 Jan and I need to get my birth certificate from my parents first
vows
music for ceremony (2 songs sorted now probably)
reading
music for evening
making cds in a nice way as favours
sorting cake - we know what we want it is just a case of getting it sorted with the baker who has been rather rubbish at replying lately
sweetie buffet - bowls and sweets
sparklers to sort
bubbles to buy
dress to get altered
jewlery to get
OH suit to get (plus tie for dad)
OH shoes to get
confirming menu tasting then choosing menu - doing this during 1st weekend in march
confirming drinks package
sorting pre wedding shoot and hair and make up trial - doing this during 1st weekend in march
sorting table plan
presents for BM and Best Man
ribbon for florists
confirming how the guests can see the pandas
It seems like loads but am hoping to tick quite a few bits off over the next couple of weeks or so.
Haven't got any suggestions re wedding cars sorry, unless you have any friends or family members who have a nice car you could borrow?0 -

We are getting married at Edinburgh zoo
you can't give notice in Scotland until 3 months before as you get married under different legislation. I am intregued (sp??) as to what our marriage certificate will look like as I have never seen a Scotish one, only ones for England & Wales
