    Hi everyone

Having a total nightmare trying to decide where to go on our honeymoon! We are getting married on the 14 April and never really thought about honeymoon when we decided on the date oopps.

    Where is everyone else going?

We have been looking at Cyprus but finding it hard to choose a hotel and board basis. We want something special and don't want to be dissappointed with hotel.

    Hi,

We're getting married 28th april and have opted for a week staying in cosy yurt in lake district for first week (very active so want to do some climbing, kayaking etc) and then for the second week we have hired a private villa up in moutains in greek island of Ithica...has it's own pool, terrace with bbq etc...can not wait! We may be a little diff as like to be left alone, no times for breakfast dinner etc so hotels not really suited to us.

I've been to Cyrpus and some of the places are amazing and i'm sure weather wise it'll be just perfect in April, also not so busy as early season.

Hope you manage to find something special for the two of you, wherever it may be it'll be amazing for you both i'm sure xx

I've been to Cyprus around 8 times, where are you looking at? The only issue with it these days is the price when you're there. It used to be dirt cheap until the Russians got in and started mooney laundering. (Coming from a local there this info) that the Russians bought into a lot of hotels and then into bars etc and then the price increased, along with the euro. Maybe half board or all inc? Think April is the start of their season there.

I just had a very wedding orientated weekend :j

We went up to Edinburgh for the weekend and on Friday met with 2 florists, chose one easily as he was so helpful and interested, the other was useless! We also met our photographer on Friday and he is really nice, it was good to meet him and get a feel of how he works. We fell in love with one of his albums though, they are so beautiful, so the intention to have the disk only package is gone lol.

Then on Saturday we went to three bakers and had tastings and discussions. We have cut one from the list but are undecided as to how to pick between the last two.

Sunday we had a bit of a relax and enjoyed exploring Edinburgh :)

Then Monday we went to the zoo and looked around the house. The view from the ceremony room is stunning :D

I am so exciting and glad that everything is coming into place :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Still to sort is finishing the invitations (know what we are doing now), getting rings, making OH get his suit sorted

We went to a travel agent and she recommended Limasol and Nissi Beach, we still haven't booked through. She did quote us for half board and it seemed a reasonable price. I've never been anything more than B&B on holiday before mainly because I love my food and would feel cheated it the food in the hotel was rubbish. Where would you recommend in Cyprus?

That sounds an amazing honeymoon. We love the lake district and spend alot of time there as its only really an hours drive from our house. We are quite tempted just to go and have a chill week in the UK somewhere in a nice cottage and then head to New England in the autumn.

Ooh you are so lucky to live so close to the lake district, i'm very jealous!! There are so many beautiful places in the UK to stay, that idea sounds very nice.

I have friends that just went away for a week in UK too and then over the Xmas period (they were teachers) they had a second honeymoon abroad. If there is somewhere you'd really prefer but not quite the season to go when you get married I think it's a great idea to do it later on....two honeymoons and space out ;)

I was going to say either Limmasol or Paphos. There's loads of lovely restaurants in both so half board would be a really good plan as you could still have the option or you could go eat out in the afternoon and have a smaller dinner? It's a really lovely Country though. That hotel's got a really good star rating on trip advisor too, looks like you got a good un there! x

  • Hi ladies, not really been on here in ages! But I thought I'd check in and see how we are all getting on? I just know that once Christmas is over it's going to be a case of OH MY GOD it's a matter of weeks to go! I am not panicking though, in fact I am ectastically happy because I have found 'The Dress'. I know I had a dress, but it turns out mum's know best, and it was worth me trying on 'proper' dresses - because I put on a dress which made me cry, I never ever thought I'd feel like that about it, and I am ridiculously happy - I actually miss it!

Plus, it was very MSE (in my opinion) for a 'proper' wedding dress! £350, and I have my mum to thank, I think she is also incredibly happy that she got to be there to help me choose something so special, and it's going to be her bit of the wedding :T

I also wanted to quickly say that we are going to Gozo for our honeymoon, the island next to Malta. I am not sure it will be baking hot, but warm and cosy will do for us! My sister went to the lake district for her honeymoon and they had a lovely time, its beautiful there.
:) Trying to be good and watch the pennies, but guilty of falling off the wagon every so often! :p
