I found Christmas really took over last month and wedding planning took a back seat. However yesterday I had an sudden panic when I realised how much there is still to do! And there is only 14 and a half weeks to go!!!

    We need to:
give notice - can't be done until after 14 Jan and I need to get my birth certificate from my parents first
    vows
music for ceremony (2 songs sorted now probably)
    reading

    music for evening
making cds in a nice way as favours
sorting cake - we know what we want it is just a case of getting it sorted with the baker who has been rather rubbish at replying lately
sweetie buffet - bowls and sweets
    sparklers to sort
    bubbles to buy
    dress to get altered
    jewlery to get
OH suit to get (plus tie for dad)
    OH shoes to get
confirming menu tasting then choosing menu - doing this during 1st weekend in march
    confirming drinks package
sorting pre wedding shoot and hair and make up trial - doing this during 1st weekend in march
    sorting table plan
presents for BM and Best Man
    ribbon for florists
confirming how the guests can see the pandas

It seems like loads but am hoping to tick quite a few bits off over the next couple of weeks or so.

Haven't got any suggestions re wedding cars sorry, unless you have any friends or family members who have a nice car you could borrow?

Em, I am so happy that I am not the only one who has a collosal list of stuff to do! At least you have a list though, which is more than me :) Tomorrow is my WEDDING LIST-MAKING-ORGANISING-GETTING MY !!! INTO GEAR day! When I have my 'to-do' list I will post it - it may make you feel better :rotfl:

The only way I am slightly more organised is because I sent my invites in November - I was very invite paranoid, and I am happy they have gone - and we have RSVP's as well!

lollipop - I am denial about transport, I plan on using whatever cars I can beg steal and borrow from family and friends. I'd love to hire a VW camper, but I cannot justify the money! I have also contemplated trying to find a white black cab for transport as i read somewhere, possibly on here, that someone had done that! And it'll cost the same as a normal taxi :T
:) Trying to be good and watch the pennies, but guilty of falling off the wagon every so often! :p
  • I felt slightly happier when reading your list Em, then realised I've got most of that stuff to do, plus more. We are now having a wedding organising day because I am getting slightly scared that I will still sorting things out the day before. I have done loads of research, just terrible in contacting people and actually getting things booked. I might write my list later as well, just so I have a little more motivation.

I wish someone I knew had a nice car, but cannot think of anyone. I had thought about the the white taxi idea, but I didn't find many in my area. I have emailed 2 places today though, so hopefully they will be cheap enough. However, they still seem to be in £150 mark. I must be looking in the wrong places

Where is everyone staying the night before the wedding? x

I too still have loads to do. Off to post office to send out first lot of finished wedding invites - does anyone else stress with the guest list??

I'm staying at my (our) home on my wedding night and OH is going to stay at his parents and go from there. We've still to book our first nights accommodation as not at venue with accom included or indeed attached, unless I want to stay in the family home of the people who's barn we are using, lol ;)

Heehee glad I could help put others at ease with the amount left to do. I have managed to knock a couple of bits off the list and am going shopping this weekend so hope to knock quite a few more off. It just seems to be never ending!

OH and I are staying a hotel next to the venue the night before. We will be sharing a room and also seeing each other in the morning to go round the zoo together. Our ceremony isn't till 4 so we could have as much time in the zoo as possible. I know it is tradition not to see each other but it also used to be tradition not to live together before the wedding or have sex so! lol :)

Yay, petticoat in and dress taken for alterations. I am so impressed as all alteration has come to £45! :j

Our wedding venue is 3 hours away and I'm having my hen do the night before so staying with other hens in the nurses block of the hotel. It's like a hostel/dorm so we are going back to girlhood! :rotfl: Having massages, mani, pedi and lots of music and dancing. There's also a spa for our use. So should relax thoroughly before the next day.

OH will stay in B & B with our parents.
I'm staying on premises so need no car but I have made sure I'm getting my dramatic entrance lol

Also finally got a cakist...lol cake maker for £875 - 3 tiers and 30 minicakes in tiramisu, orange and ginger, choc fudge, doubly rich choc(white & dark), fruit and carrot cakes. 100 cupcakes and 200 cookies. We are having the wedding cake for dessert hence the different flavours.

    Things left to do:

buy plastic flowers for table decor
pay registrar and email in music and vows
hire cravats & waist coats- OH and best men wearing own suits. Shirts sorted during xmas sale
Collect ring - engraving quotes unto OH's inside & outside

I have not been able to contact my photographer and I'm worried. :( Will email her again...

Ah start buying sweets for the candy bar!

Happy planning ladies and gents! x

Wow 9ja4life your cake sounds amazing! Have you managed to contact your photographer now?

I had a very sucessful last week in terms of getting things ticked off my list. We ordered our CDs (we are making versions of our playlist for our favours), got tissue paper and ribbon to package said CDs, ordered our lego han and leia for our cake, bought the ribbon for the florist, sparklers, sweetie buffet jars, my jewellry, my BMs bag and jewellry, got my birth certificate from my parents, have sent off to give notice, chosen our vows and our reading :):)

This week I aim to sort the cake and a few bits with the venue. Well thats the plan...

I can't believe how quickly April is coming around, madness!

This week we've finished invites and sent them - not without stresses of family causing problems at same time :(

OH is booking first two nights acc (before we head off on honeymoon) today and also taxi from venue to chosen hotel.

Tonight after the chores I will be writing a mammoth to-do-list and time scales. Church bit we hope to sort most this weekend, we have a church prep meeting on Sat morn where we'll meet choir, organist (although already know him) flower ladies etc etc...it'll be nice to finally get this part of the day in order as been waiting ages!!!

    Oh dear:(

Not heard from photographer personally yet and found out she's just had a baby! I don't know what to do. We had agreed she'll stay the night as wedding starts late afternoon. We are not paying her as she's trying to build a portfolio and I really loved her pictures that I'd seen.

Oh no! poor you 9ja4life. Have you tried to speak to her directly? she may say that she is planning on leaving the baby with someone for the day and is still going to photograph your wedding. It is still a little way away so it may be at the moment she is overwelmed with the new baby but by April she thinks it will be fine. Alternatively have you tried to look for someone else? Do you haveany money in your budget for it?

I have now managed to sort the cake, got he tongs and bags for the sweetie buffet and been looking at sweet.

We are seeing FIL to be at the weekend and are hoping he will offer to give us some more money. He is very kindly paying for the wedding and we have nearly spent all that he gave us (and not yet paid for the food and drink, make up artist or photo album). When he gave us it he said just to ask if we needed any more but OH finds it difficult to ask his dad for money so we are hoping to kind of steer the conversation towards costs and hope he offers some more money. Fingers crossed any way :) If not we can afford the rest of it ourselves if needed as OH got a lovely Christmas bonus from work.
