  • Me, me I'm lurking, eeek not long now, can't believe it!!! I seem to have all the big stuff done, suppliers booked etc., I'm now trying to turn my attention to some of the smaller stuff!! Have any of you drafted your order of service yet??? In order to do this, I think I need to be certain on my music choices which I'm not completely yet!!! Also we seem to be having a bit of a nightmare with our first dance song. Please tell me I'm not alone in with all these little decisions still to make!!! :-

Any news on the photographer front yet 9ja4life? Strangely we are meeting with a new photographer this evening (already have one in place) but somethings not sitting comfortable with them and have about a week in which we are still able to cancel.....i'm just keeping my options open as paying best part of 1k to these people and I want to be 100% happy....not being fussy, honest!

Sunnyjolls - nope you are def not the only one with all the little decision making bits. I have a never ending list of them! We too have to think about our order of service - we have a wedding preparation morning tomorrow with chuch where all the couples getting married this year will attend and can meet organist, flower ladies, choir etc etc also give examples of music, ceremony options etc. I'm actually really looking forward to it as will feel like another thing (once decisons are made) can be ticked off the list!

Hope everyone is still very much excited!!! not long now!!!! I'm having fun with few upsets (family :() but trying hard to not let it ruin the next three months for me and hubby to be :)
  • choc addict - where are you based? I could reccomend a good photographer who is less than 1k x

  • choc-addict this is what we need a preparation meeting. The vicar came round but then we haven't heard much at all about the service itself. How many hymns do we need to pick, use of the choir, length of service etc., I think I better ring again and ask how we go about sorting all this out!!! Have you chosen your entrance music?
  • Hi Sunny - if it helps the church usually suggest a minimum of 2 hymns. More common is 3 hymns.
When picking your entrace music, if you youtube them make sure its the same type of organ your listening to as your church has. i.e pipe organ, electric etc otherwise it will sound different to what you imagine.
The length of service will be anywhere from half hour to 45 mins depending on how many hymns and readings you have.
Hope that helps as a start? x

No, I haven't heard from her yet. I have tried to call her and it's gone to voicemail. I left a message and don't want to seem pushy so will start hunting for another one. Our wedding is in the Brecons and public transport isn't all that good there. She'll have to stay the night as it's a late afternoon wedding which was what we agreed.

There is no money in the budget as we are also in the process of buying a house. Crazy I know! I was telling OH that we may have to start warning our friends that we'll be relying on them for our photos!

Em88 fingers crossed you get some more money.

Ah liitle bits of decisions and planning... that's part of the fun:D

I shall pop back and let you know how we get on tomorrow! I've not decided my entrance music, although I know it won't be 'here comes the bride'....that's about it!

I hope you manage to get the photographer sorted 9ja4life - i'd say def perhaps search for other options as it's not fair for you to be left in the lurch so near to your wedding wondering if she'll be able to do it or not.

Very exciting few months ahead ladies :D:D:D

Mrs Moore To Be - thanks for you help, it's nice to speak to someone who's been there and done it so to speak. Hope you had a fab day! x

Ahh thanks for that, will try YouTube, I've got a couple of ideas so will check them out. Phoned the vicar yesterday and he said he'd be in touch a bit nearer the time to go through the service, I'd like to do it now!

Ah sunny, i'm off to church prep in a mo so will come back hopefully armed with lots of info for you so you can at least have an idea!

We met with lovely photographer last night and have decided to go with her and as OH works with her hubby we're getting another £100 off the price....therefore photographer now £750!

Having a bit of a wedding weekend (around overtime) so hoping to get lots of little things off of our to-do-list. Next weekend we're having all the parents and bridal party together at ours for sunday afternoon nibbles and drinks - means everyone can meet one another before April. Although not really looking forward to it as everyone is sooooooooo diff....they'll just have to be grown ups for a day, lol!!
