we have sorted out the kilts for the big day, woohooo! We are both even more excited now that we have both our outfits sorted and can finally decide on a colour scheme for BMs etc. We drove past the venue yesterday and squealed with excitement :-) I think we will do save the dates afterall and get them sent out by next week, it will certainly put my mind at rest worrying about who can make it. lol.
Hope everyones planning is going well!:T Looking forward to the future :T0 -
Hi April brides, its been too long since anyone posted on here so I though i'd bring us back to life.
Hows everyone's planning going? I'm starting to get that feeling where I just want someone to tell me what to do. As much as I'm loving planning, I feel like I need a kick up the bum and get more things booked. As I'm getting married on a Thursday, I'm hoping that it will be a bit easier booking a photographer and a florist. My aim is to get these sorted by the end of September.
Quick question, who is everyone sending their save the dates to? I'm wondering whether I need to send them to just the day guests, or both the day and evening?

I'm hoping to get married on 13th April (still need to give notice!). We're going to look at a venue for the reception tomorrow, and hopefully giving notice when payday rolls around again! I've made a wedding planner (it's a scrap book from Hobbycraft that I've decorated with silver fabric paint) and stuck in loads of inspiration pictures and notes, and a "to do" list.
We're having a relatively small wedding - literally us and our parents and siblings at the registry office, then about 30 people for a handfasting and reception in the afternoon/evening, so it's meant we've been able to price up most things on a fairly low budget. One colleague has volunteered to make my cake as a gift, and another has nominated herself Head of the Decorating committeeWe've picked out our rings, and a few other bits and pieces, and have decided on an Alice in Wonderland theme (any excuse to dress up!) because I originally had a beautiful £300 dress picked out, but honestly I'll never wear it again. So I decided to go for something cheaper, and I'm having my dress hand-made by a company who specialise in movie and TV replicas and it's less than £100 - the bonus is that I'll wear it again!
So right now, I'm filling my scrap book with concept art and print outs from the internet, listening to Danny Elfman's soundtrack to the recent Tim Burton movie (I think I'm going to use a couple of these for our ceremony music) and wondering how many Alice-related bits and pieces I've already got that can be used as decoration.Original debts: £14,250
Still to pay: £250 /£950 - Lloyds TSB overdraft (although with interest and charges, I've already paid £1,675!)

This is the first time I have quoted so hope it works lol:rotfl:
I love the idea of a alice in wonderland wedding Solstice, think it would be wonderful to be able to have such a fun day. I saw something similar on here I think, and the person had little signs on their crockery etc, such as 'Eat me' and 'Drink me'.
If you're wearing an alice dress, what will your partner be wearing? Will you see each others outfits before the day, or do you think you will keep it a surprise? How exciting :T
My wedding plans still seem to be going slowly. I'm picking up my dress on Saturday. Feels so weird as the wedding is so far away, but I shop could only hold the dress for a month. Going to store it at my friend's house, which is kind of making me nervous. I know she wouldn't do anything to it, but it doesn't feel safe somehow lol.
Hows everyone else's plans coming along?0 -

We have booked our honeymoon :j we are off to Gozo (a small island next to Malta), we'll set of about 3 days after the wedding, it'll be our first holiday together and the first time ever abroad together. Its so exciting! And also nerve-wracking as neither of us fly well! But enough wine and I am sure we will be fine :rotfl:
I haven't done much else really. We've decided on an eco-friendly, recycled/reused, book-themed wedding, somehow on a midsummer nights dream theme (i know, it sounds a jumbled mess, but in my head it's a beautiful, natural 'eco' affair!)
I am currently obsessed with this website! http://thenaturalweddingcompany.wordpress.com/category/our-wedding/Trying to be good and watch the pennies, but guilty of falling off the wagon every so often!

Got my shoes! Got my shoes!
Yey shoes! what are they like? :j
I bought mine the other day as well and I want to wear them nowI pick up my dress today so I wanted to try them on with it.
On a different note, I was in Boots yesterday and they had these gold trees next to a perfume stand (Golden Delicious if anyone noticed it). I want one of those trees! I want it in blue though. I know if I attempted it myself it would like a DIY disaster but I thought it would look so much prettier than bay trees at the front doors of the venue. Think my h2b would think I had gone mad by saying I want blue trees to match our colour theme.0 -
They are mega beautiful leopard print Jimmy Choos! So excited! Yey for dress! I'm so scared i'll get to pick mine up and it wont fit or something, think i'm not doing any justice to the lady at the shop as she is mega brill though. Trees? We have some to put outside the smoking area, which sounds odd, but our venue has a big pergoda for somking area and they have their own trees outside venue but thought would look cool to carry on. B and M/ home bargains have them. They're like 3 foot, white roses on and we're going to spray the pots gold and put some bows on.We're having butterflies alos so going to put some on the tree in random parts not to look to regimental! They were only £15 each and are selling on ebay for £35 each. Same ones in matalan were £30 each! So we're prob going to put them on ebay after the wedding.Married the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140
