Oooh excitement from reading all your progress!
We have a package deal for a hotel. 24hr hire 11am to 11am with ceremony, evening meal, all bedrooms and breakfast for 50 adults (and a couple of wee uns).
Cake is being made by a bridesmaid, another bridesmaid is offering her ceilidh band as wedding present (saving us about £1k!!). Creating a playlist on an mp3 player and using the sound system that bridesmaid is getting for her band. A girl that I work with is doing our photographs and just need to pay her travel expenses and she's eating with usThen we'll pay for prints and albums ourselves, probably using some groupon-type deal.
Doing own hair and makeup, as are the maids.
Honeymoon flights paid for, accommodation deposit also been paid.
It'd getting too late for me to think about what else has been sorted, will update this another time haha.Elmoxx

thanks jemb. i did think about the lottery tickets and if we decide to have a smaller party at the beginning i think its something i would definatley go for.
we werent changing the hall lay out which ment we have 25-30 tables and thought it would be far too expensive decorate, so we have 2 tables together which obviously cuts the cost of this in half and gives us a nice centre size. they tables were rectangle and i cudnt find something to suit but now it will be square and more space so i think i will look into this and someone at the table can take the vase home0 -
Well I've finally made a decision on the colour scheme and I'm going for Jade green. Also flowers, I'm going fake so I can keep them, I'm having ivory roses with splashes of greenery, I'm having a small bouquet for myself I'm not into the massive ones, so something simple. I'm getting 10 simple ivory rose buttonholes, I am having wrist corsages for the 2 adult bridesmaids as they will be holding 2 younger ones hands each. I'm having ivory wands for the 3 flower girls and hopefully if the woman can make it a tiny wrist corsage for my 6 month old flower girl. I've also seen a comb with 3 ivory roses on which I might get for myself. All in should be around £50.
We were gonna go for a church but we have found a venue that does a civil ceremony and room hire for £350 and this would save us about £250 on the church so we are going on saturday to see what we think. The venue also do a carvery with cold desserts for 14.50 pp and I think this is quite a good price compared to some of the other prices I have seen.
How's everyone else?

Hi Everyone
I don't really have anything new to add, I have just been away for a week with the kids and my OH's sister and her husband and their kids and so it's all been a bit manic!
The only thing I have to add is that I have started having wedding nightmares, where I dream that it's the morning of the wedding and I still have to go to the shops and buy the wine and decorate the venue and do my hair and I can't remember what I have done in the few months prior to the wedding date! I think it's my brains way of telling me it doesn't think I am organised enough....!
I don't have a theme yet, I keep changing my mind, but I know I really need to have a central theme otherwise I know I will end up with random and disjointed things that I think are 'pretty' at the time!
Good luck with everyone elses planning - keep us updated! xTrying to be good and watch the pennies, but guilty of falling off the wagon every so often!

glad to hear I'm not the only disorganised one, I have just finished printing my save the date cards and have decided on a heart theme (finally) obvious I know! I've got a heart cutting stamper thingy lol borrowed off my mum and stamped hearts in the save the date cards. Apart from that still havn't got a reception room as the place we went to see yesterday was nothing like the website we looked at and so I felt really let down and its back to the drawing board! Going to look at another place tomorrow so hopefully this one will be better.

I haven't done much more planning, kind of took a few months off
I was at Catterick market at the weekend and they had bags for £5 each and the correct colours for my BMs so think i'll grab two next time i'm down there. I was really impressed with the stall - i got a fascinator (wedding next Sat) for £3!!!! Bargain
Wedding nightmares!!! They stopped when i stopped planning but now i'm looking for a videographer they've started again...Think i've found decent one for £450
Just waiting for a better dvd before i book.

When are people sending out invitations? I was going to do save the dates and send the formal invites out later, but as everyone knows when the wedding will be I don't think theres much point. Would sending the invites out in Sept be too early? I want an idea of who's coming so I can book hotels etc and not have to worry about it weeks before the wedding and it also gives people a chance to book time off work etc.
So far planning wise I've not done much except book venue, registrar and order my dress. I have however spent a lot of time going through mags and cutting out pictures for my scrap book :-) and obsessing over colour schemes and changing my mind every week lol and writing lists of things to do:T Looking forward to the future :T0 -
I sent save the date magnets out which ended up costing couple of pound with cashback sites and vistaprint.
I'm planning on sending invites out in January with a March deadline.:DStolen the OH's account so it's Jenna - not Neil:D0
