  • Just seen your diary - good luck for in the morn!

I am off myself in 30 mins.

For the Tesco delivery coming tonight they seem to have taken the money already - well, allocated it. I don't think they have done that before but the bank doesn't show what it is until tomorrow so I hope it is Tesco otherwise I won't have enough to cover it. There's nothing else due out and it's for the same amount as the order is predicted to be so logic says that's what it is.

I love getting a big order delivered for stocking up - feels very homely. Even if it only lasts a week or less!!! I may hide some things actually....make it last longer!

  • LOL I hide bits from big grocery shops too! I have to other wise my pair of gannets just hoover it up!

Tesco usually take my payment on the morning of the delivery day IYSWIM so its more than likely that. If I pay with DH's account it takes 2 or 3 working days to show up on the statement but if its from my account it shows the next morning. Guess it depends who you bank with really.

I never have understood clearing times for card payments, makes not a jot of sense to me!
  • some banks show the funds as ringfenced in advance. I just checked my account and nothing sneakily in there from Lloyds, I love the food deliverys, its like Xmas. We are at aldi this weekend, cheap tuna steaks! BUT more like a disappointing easter.
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • Morning peeps

Well I checked first thing this morning (unlike me as morning's are usually a military operation and I wait til get to work before going online) and there's ne no more payments taken but it still doesn't say it's Tesco however I am convinced it is.

Barclays is this account and they seem to be processing payments etc alot quicker, even if it's not in the "balance" section it shows funds available now which is the bit that updates quicker.

So not worrying as there's enough there to clear the order should they request it then I will find out what the mysterious debit is, should there even be one. Am sure it's Tesco though and Winnie's answer makes me think so to.

Sooooo last night I surpressed my worry of Tesco being refused payment and set about to get my jobs done. Had LOADS to do then FIL turned up for improptu (sp) visit! Stayed for ages so didn't get half done I wanted to.

I'd fed the kids so got a tea from the freezer for us (HM then frozen) and set about doing the jobs in order of priority. Needless to say, ironing didn't get done! LOL. Then the Tesco order arrived!!! Wahoooo - this is so sad that I am excited over a food delivery. It's not even the eating it that's exciting - it's the fact my cupboards are brimming. :D It is exactly like Christmas Saint Skint!

Then this morning I couldn't get up! Chose to have a lie in instead of shower and I know I will regret that all day cos a shower wakes me up and if I don't have one I feel yukky.

Got the kids ready - DD went as a farmer to school today for harvest and she looked sooo cute. Sorted breakfast, dog and chickens then dropped DS off for the day. Took DD to school for 810 and in work for 825.

Have lots to do this morning and need motivation from somewhere.

    Will check accounts firstly though.

  • Returns refund has hit account - :D

    £20 sent to Virgin.

I would send to the loan but the 18p payment I made hasn't shown up on the account so will give it til tomorrow before I ring up and ask. I won't be making an overpayment until Friday anyway.

Everything else in order for now.

Car's booked in on Sat to find out what's wrong with it (again - trying a garage opposed to FIL this time) so hoping that doesn't cost the earth.

  • My car insurance is due for renewal soon. I can't believe how expensive it is now. Looking at £45 on average a month.

Roll on the days I can pay annually.

  • Well done on 3 stars!! :T

Car insurance is scary. I spend hours shopping around when our renewals come up and very rarely manage to save any money. DH's is up at the end of October so I've already started looking! We might be able to save a bit this year because last year he just automatically renewed *roll eyes* but if nothing else I'll make sure we get some Quidco!

Sending you lots of motivation!! You can have mine because I sat down on the comfy sofa and can't get up again :rotfl:
  • LOL I have got myself a cup of tea and had a low fat scone :) so feeling ready for a snooze....no just kidding - have started doing my jobs. Some of the processes take a while to run so flitting in between.

I have got a reasonable quote from Hastings essentials with £40 quidco and half price MOT. I hate MOT's though as they will no doubt find things wrong regardless! Esp on my old girl.

Getting the brakes checked and hopefully fixed on Sat then next month I need a replacement exhaust :( hoping FIL can do that cheaper than the garage. The garage seems to know more about the brake problem though hence going to them for that.

What do you need to do to your car to see it through winter - as in anto freeze or whatsit?
