I agree Mupette, lots of people are getting on our nerves now too, especially those that haven't RSVP'd - either with no reply at all or oh I told you remember? No I don't remember, I have a million other things on my mind so please just send the flipping card back!

Girls I am feeling so stressed! The small wedding that we had intially planned on has now turned into 65 day guests and 90 in the evening. I'm sick of guests making demands on me and being rude, fed up with all the organising that gets left to me, sick of my mum making sarky comments as we got the RSVPs here not her house and sick of people just kicking off in general about OUR day!!!!!!!!!

Feel a bit better now I've got it out. Can't really talk to OH as he thinks that its just a matter of us turning up on the day and I'm the one making all the organising if you see what I mean.

Awww Becca, I'm yet to reach this stage but I'm sure once my invites go out (hopefully by the end of this week) we'll have guests moaning about the choice of our food, venue etc...

My parents have also managed to sneak two other family members onto our wedding list...

I love this idea! :T Can I do that with my sister as she is being a class A cow! Basically saying she doesn't wanna be bridesmaid and then denying this, then upsetting my other bridesmaid who was trying to be helpful and to top it off stirring things with my parents about how my OH has apparently changed his waistcoat and how dare he as my dad has already got the same one... Apparently this was posted on FB... Yeah I'd like to see this "post" - pah, evil jealous sister... Rant over methinks!

Anyways, onto positive news, the OH and I sat down yesterday and sorted the invitations out, we just need to sort postage (hopefully doing it online and printing the stamps), we also sat down and sorted a kinda of table plan layout and decided who is going to sit on the top table, sorted out what types of flowers we want as centre pieces (tho not what we want them in) and we started to sort out music.

OH asked me what song I was walking down the aisle to and so I started to play it to him to which his reply was "well I've heard worse!" I told him to listen to the lyrics and as he did he accepted that they were quite apt and meaningful :)

Anyways, now I'm in the mood for weddingy stuff I don't wanna do planningy stuff!

Hope everyone's well... I'm getting excited now!

  • Hello, havent had much time to post but have been able to just about keep up with the thread, looks like everyones doing well, cant believe its only 5 months away now!! We have finally decided on what food we are having and sorted suits last weekend. Got my dress fitting on saturday coming and im so excited as its being made for me and will be the first time i see it!! bridesmaids will also be being measured but got to check the dress they all said they liked is still ok as one bridesmaid has now admited she is worried about how it will look dispite me suggesting she tried it on last time for that reason and her refusing!! Main task now is to get on with the invites and get them sent!!!! Oh and also got my shoes and underwear sorted!!
    Married on 16th June 2012. :j
  • Our day invites went out today! :j

I was so excited that when OH jokingly asked if I wanted a photo by the post box whilst I was posting I stood and considered it for a bit! :rotfl:

I'm actually pretty impressed with my OH; he had the day off work and spend it sorting out invitation stuff e.g. sorting out addresses, printed the labels and stamps so now they are sent.

Obviously I have chopped a few bits off the info leaflet (the end page) which I sent to my sister but that is another story... Small things! :rotfl:

I just can't wait for the replies now, tho tomorrow I'm taking 3 invites into work to give to people.... I'm kinda scared as if they can't come I don't want them to pretend they can/feel they have to just cos I work with them and get on with them (one's my old year partner, the other is my old TA who I help out at Rainbows and Brownies with, the last is someone I started at the school with and have got on really well.)

Anyways, my aim tonight was to quality mark half of my literacy books once I was home.... What a shame the invites came first! :D

    I've been Money Tipped!
Haha spoony I was supposed to plan the next unit of literacy but spent all. night on pinterest. Glad they got out, bet it feels good :)
First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/14 :D
  • I'm glad I'm not the only one Becca! I seem to get easily distracted these days as the wedding is the more important thing!

Sending the invites is a huge weight off our shoulders as everytime OH's mum came round she'd ask if I'd finished them and sent them out and then my mum was doing the same!, teamed up with my sister causing problems.

Oh the joys of families eh?!

I'll have to have a nosey on pinterest as I need some hair ideas and have heard it's good :)

    Invites done here tooo..

Bit annoying really got them at Hobby craft to do ourselves.

used a template for words from moonpig :rotfl:
went to the website on the back of the packaging kanban, the card section is long gone :(

so we open word type out what we want.. size it up, you name it we try it.. suggest we moonpig the whole lot (ok only need to send 6 invites- small room at registry office, all couples)

DS (16) tells me to open templates and look at what i could use in word agghhh no it all, find a nice one and then more hours faffin with that, wasted enough paper and ink but whew finally done.

Rings fingers crossed next weekend, he has to get paid on monday yet, agency screwed up yet again.
