Argghhh I am so stressing
We are getting married on the 1st June my better half proposed on the stroke of midnight Christmas morning so we have a lot to plan in little time.
I am also on a mega small budget of around £1500-£1800 for the whole thing *bites nails*
It's not too bad I mean my wedding dress I have got from my better halfs sister which I just have to have taken in a little and dry cleaned so that has saved me a great deal of money.
We were originally going to have our reception at our home as we hve a big garden and it should be warm *please* however in the end we decided it was too much hassle as we would be the ones running about instead of spending time with our guests and enjoying our day.
We should be able to hire a room out with minimal to no costs, the only costing will be a DJ and the money to buy the items for the buffet.
Wedding rings we're gonig titanium which you can get his and hers rings from Ebay quite cheap.
Flowers I'm not sure about, should I go real or silk? really not sure which will be the best value.
Decorations, not a clue about
You really wouldnt' think I'd been married before would you :rotfl: to be fair my last MIL was very hands on as she was paying so she organisd everything and it was about 10 years ago so I don't really remember much about the preperation!
I think I am just stressing about nothnig, or am I stressing about everything *ARGHHHHH*
Any help would be very much apreciated
Shaz x

Just one word... WOW!
(From a nosy-July bride!)
Hehe hello to any July brides lurking! I might take a trip to your board for any tips you may havePernicious I'm so jealous! I would love nothing more than 2 weeks on a hot beach but H2B would moan the whole time about the heatWe're hoping to get to a travel agents in the next week or so to plan Rome and Italy
On a happy note though we got our wedding rings today!:T Sadly H2B's was too small so a bigger size has been ordered. The best part is thanks to Mr Tesco we paid a grand total of £205 for £778 worth of rings! We raided both families for tesco vouchers and 4x them for goldsmiths vouchers. Bargain of the wedding!
Actually part of the advantages were that although it will be hot, it will not be super hot! Egypt was a possibility (& much more budget friendly) but it would be soooo hot at that time of year we decided against it. Italy sounds fab, I've never been there but always wanted too, so much to see & do!
Loving the bargain wedding rings, bet you can't wait to wear them!:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57

Shashwoo - I don't really know what to say to be honest other than you must be mad!! :rotfl: I would hate to try & cram everything into 6 months - I know I couldn't do it...but this is what you've elected so what I will advise is to make this your main priority from now on! You've made a great start, but I would suggest getting a venue asap & then booking the registrar. That's very important as without a venue, you have no wedding reception.
After that I'd say get your caterer (or are you doing the buffet yourself?) & DJ booked, oh & look around for some nice invitations. Good luck & congratulations!:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57

Hi not posted for a while. Hope everyone had a lovely xmas and a happy new year
I can't believe I get married this year and am sort of panicking now eeeeek!
I've never been married or had a longterm boyfriend before and going through the transition of single girl to girlfriend/fiancee/wife in the space of 18 months kind of scares me and I don't know how to deal with it. Don't get me wrong I love my fiance to bits and we both knew early on in the relationship that we had found the 'one'. We both feel life is too short to wait and we're not getting any younger :rotfl:
Maybe I just needed to write this down for myself. Sorry to bore you all
On a positive note I now have my wedding ring (yay!) and OH got his suit from the next sale last week down from £180 to £80! The only downside was that we had to keep looking through loads of stuff to find it! Well worth it though :j
Still need to loose more weight to fit into my dress though....been on the wii fit every night.....am tired.......zzzzzzzzzSPC 9 # 5360 -
Hi all, I've been lurking on the board for a good while...and aaack! I bought my wedding dress today it's the first one that was 'the one', in sample sale size 14 needs alterations as I'm size 14 (i.e. wedding dress 16) incl. lace up back but is only one I had 'the feeling' about. I have to ring seamstress tomorrow, am alread panicking...hoping the panic isn't justified...wedding date is 2nd june..."We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough
"There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women" - Madeleine Albright0 -
well done on the dress Petulia.
I got my dress from light in the box, put all my measurements in and it still cambe back a bit too big, which is better than too small, bridesmaid is a dressmaker and will be taking dress apart, and putting it all back together again, and its way too long, even in shoes with big heels.
Well the transport is booked today, next door neighbour drives a minibus for a living and will drive all of us there and back. £60.
Dress check
transport check
ummm
errrrr
ahh
M & S website looking at the cakes and pricing them up, one small fruit, one medium sponge is all we need, have inc the pillars too.
just need to decorate it so ideas for that..
i need shoes, the bridesmaids need dresses and shoes
the groom, best mad and my son have been talking this weekend about the suits. (talking means ok i will now do something about this)
Hoping to hold a small do in the back garden, bit of a problem, new build no drainage, building company have sent around some other company to look at it, said they can do the drainage for us (free) i then say even when grass is dry the garden is not wheelchair friendly and i would prefer a basic patio which would be better for me...... fingers crossed, otherwise i have some money given to me to get patio sorted.
wine check, spent all my air miles on wines
4 bottles of cava that i got in lidil at Christmas
this isnt going to be the wedding of the year, we are going very cheap as we dont have the money and can't afford loans, soon as we marry our finances change for the worse.
bridesmaid is buying the bouquet (she insisted)
parents are buying the cake (i have the M & S vouchers here ready for near the time)
When do you order and buy the cake?
DJ DS will play a cd i can knock together.
ribbons and fairly lights to decorate the garden, its midsummer eve 21st June and some paper plates etc...
saving my nectar points (money) £25 so far to buy buffet food on the morning (or day before)
hair and makeup, going to wing it with the bridesmaids. they love glamming up and i know and trust them to do a good job.
OH bought me a beautiful necklace for my birthday, it is a limited edition.

we are both discworld fans so this was apt and will need something around my neck for the shape of the dress, bridesmaids love it and said it worked well with dress.
What have i forgot? I have MS and forget things all the time so please what have i forgot. we did the registry office thing, all booked and all paid for, even had the separated and spoken too, to make sure we were both happy to marry and actually did know each other (funny as we are both born UK citizens)0 -
Mupette sounds like you have it all under control!
Hope everyone else is ok xFirst baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140
