  • Her thumb is just bruised luckily :) Its nearly better now!!
    MTG fingers crossed its good news for your DH then. Ill have a look over on your diary to see (Maybe tomorrow now as ive just seen the time!!)

    Im so bad at posting on here at the mo! I really need to get back into it all and really try to sort the money out!! Not sure whats going to happen with DH and work yet. He is just plodding along at the mo till we work out what to do?? So aim at the mo is to just try and save/earn as much as possible but im not going to pay it off CCs till I know whats happening or not and just try and save up a little money..... I know its not the best to do when you ahve debt but needs must and everything. We have debt yes BUT we also have a life and I dont want DH to be this down and upset FOREVER :(:(:( So we need to look into something - be it self employed, new job but less pay or we stick out this job :(. So till we know thats my plan........ Then if we dont need it then I can put it towards some ccs......

    Might think about a little target to see if we can work towards it as it might help to motivate us?? But will see first......

    Have been being good on the meal plan front and trying to stick to a weekly amount for the shopping which is going well at the moe. Have tried a few new thing recently and most have been a hit. Need to get back into baking a little more for the treats - but then ill only eat them all lol

    OK I must go to bed...but ill try my best to come on here more often.....

  • Thats great news about your DHs work!! So happy he has sorted it and has something else. We are still in limbo with DHs work :( had saved a little but now I think im going to have to use it on a new washing machine :( Yesterday we had the water people fixing something outside of the house and turned our water off for a bit and since it has been switched back on my washing machine has just kept filling up with water! Last night it sounded like it was going to explode and I didnt realise it had water in so opened the door!!!!! Big mistake as it all went everywhere!!!!! Lucky I shut it quick so it didnt all fly out but loads did :( And so now im not sure if the WM will be broken after the noise it was making. Also the floor will prob start to bow etc now as its laminate flooring so doesnt do well with being wet :( Got someone to come out tomorrow to look at it so fingers crossed the WM still works...............

    DD2 is loving being at school :) Bless her.
    Tesco was delivered yesterday and got some good substitutions so im happy lol. Also kept it to the budget I wanted (Still High though!!) How much do you think is a reasonable amount for a fam of 7 each week??

  • Hi Mummy, really sorry to hear about DH, I really hope something changes soon.

    Oh no to the washing machine too, it never rains does it! Fingers crossed it is fixable.

    Re the shopping id say at least £100 a week if your buying formula and nappies, maybe even more! xx
    Mummytogirls x

  • The water people have been today and they think that some dirt has got in when they have fixed the pipework but they cant fix it so i have to get someone in to fix it and then send them the bill to re-emberse (no idea how to spell this ) So fingers crossed they will pay us back :) and even more important I hope they can fix it tomorrow as its mad not having one!!!

    We spend £100 a week on shopping which does include formular but not very often nappies - mainly use washable ones. But this does include treats so think I could cut it more but also think I cant live without the biscuits and things like cheese strings and frubes for dds lunch (she will not drink milk so need to get the calcium in her somehow!) So then feel bad thats I could save more.....

    Today wont be a nsd as planned because Im going to have to go buy some disposibles as cant wash the nappies!! So will be a small spend day instead. DD1 has film club after school and then footy training so is a rush for dinner day.

    i just read your situation. I admire people that are willing to tighten their belts and have large families! I have 1 so far but your post has made me broody. We're always worrying about money but i wouldnt mind worrying forever if i can have a large family and a busy home :)

    Best of luck to you.

  • Thank you Bufger :) I do love having a big family and a busy house :) I would love more kids but at the moe I think we are going to have to wait and see what happens one day.... We live in a 3 bed semi so are full now really so might leave it a few years and see about having maybe 2 more? But who knows what will happen and for now im loving being a mummy to 5 kiddies and all the fun it brings with it :)

    Yesterdays low spend turn in to a bigish spend!! £42 in MrT. Got lots of nappies to keep us going untill ive caught up on all the washing!! Also got some PJs for DS1 as his babygrows were rather tight on him now :) Also some socks and joggers for DS2. Some mags for the girls as a treat as DD2 is doing so welll at school. Also brought a big folder which is going to be my organisation folder for the house! I need to get things a little more organised and under control. I thought I would put things like:
    * a cleaning rota - I know is a bit mad to have a rota but then i thought DH can help a little if he sees what is needed to be done andalso it will help me keep up with it all :)
    * Menu plan for the week
    * Shopping list
    * List of meals we ike to make the meal planning quicker?
    * Menus for takeaways
    * A list for things we want/need around the house
    * List of Birthdays and any ideas of what to get

    and will think of more things im sure to put in to help things be a little more organised :)

    Today ive had the washing Machine fixed :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j can you tell im happy :) Its was some girt etc from the water people fixing the pipes. They have said to send in the receipt and they will give us the money back so fingers crossed they do. It was £40 so well worth paying to get it back working!!!!!!

    So today is full with washing and trying to get it all dry....... We also have the teachers for DD2 coming round to do a setterling in session or something! Lets hope they dont want to go in dds bedroom as its got toys all over the floor :o:p

  • Need the side of our house repointed :( Its so damp all over the side wall - so the hall, bathroom and in DS1s room :( Which I know is not great for him. But my dad has somebody coming round tomorrow to have a look at it so I hope its just the top part which oins the roof to the wall otherwise if its the whole side of the house its going to be a BIG job :( But will see what the person says tomorrow......
    Also means I need to sort out DS's room now. We will have to strip and clean it back as much as possible and see what its like then it might need re plastering?? Not sure whats going to be involved completly but I KNOW its gonna cost a lot :(

    Hey Mummy - we too need our walls re-pointing really before winter so no further damp gets in. They are starting this week and I will be so pleased when it's all done and I can re-plaster and finish redecorating my bathroom - will be nice to have it back. It's always costs a fortune too so will be using some of the little savings we have to get it done.
