ME that is just terrible. I am glad that you took it back though, it must be really annoying (not to mention having the shine taken off it) I hope that gets sorted soon.

I do believe that people who "give" their time and energy to others are often the most fulfilled. After all, life should be about enjoyment and if we can help others have some joy then I am all for it. I once became a member of the JOIN ME forum, not sure it still exists but it was all about doing random acts of kindness. Simple really but it was about being mindful of people and bringing a smile to their face. Some of the things that I found made people smile the most was just by stopping them in the street just to say that I liked their shoes/outfit/hair. Some people would ask what I wanted though!!!!!

Worryworting is allowed, good luck with it all, hope u weren't insulted by the asking if u used measuring cups thing, not everyone uses them and thinks tea cups. (insert an apology to cheri here, wasnt thinking you not well equiped in the kitchen department!) Still delighted you tried it and it worked, making giant things is fine.

Jealous of the trip away, hope it's productive and yummy and I hope mr c got paid xxxx

Pippi, not insulted at all. Most of my friends from my old life would be totally with you on the using of normal cups. I have always loved cooking and baking though so whenever I treat myself I buy some kind of kitchenalia. Is it wrong that Lakeland is my favourite shop?Discovered cups when on a trip to America many many years ago (in a more affluent lifetime). I just never really got chance to use it all until I came here. Most of my time here has been very busy so didnt get the good life that I thought that I would. Still I do try from time to time. Just left a message over your fence to say I am just off to make more scones. Heading North and want to impress my friend with home made scones and jams as a thankyou for looking after Moo for me while away.

Right I really do need to get on. Setting off today and, thanks to work, have nothing done so a to do list is required
    • make scones
    • find jam
    • wrap scones and jam in nice basket
    • find which clothes to take - need winter and summer thanks to todays weather - not take chances
    • find umbrella
    • find passport
    • check in on line for outward and return journe
    • pack
    • pack Coco and Moo's bags with seeds, perches, Wagg, soft toys and blankets, towels and raincoat for Moo
    • Find Moo's bandanas (he is on holiday and needs to be dapper)
    • check that money is in my austrian account

  • Join the club, its raining here!

Mums two dogs have bandana's, well it would be rude not to when you are boat dogs! Many years ago dads maltese terrier had a red one, and it was most definitely a warning, she could be a real moody wotsit and didnt think anything of knocking other dogs into the canals .

I love the idea of Moo packing bandannas!

Cheri, I know it belongs to the last page, but I just wanted to support you in what you're writing about strikes and unions .... I was worried about the trading that I do, betraying my roots, and my sister reminded me of our grandad's attitude to the unions. To share the context with you, he worked on the river, he took part in the general strike of 1926 (he was victimised as being one of the local leaders, too, young as he was), and *led* a strike just after the war - he was striking for the right to 24 hours off a week. A week! Management of the firm wouldn't budge, and thats when he moved on, working in a different way. Unions were started when working conditions were unimaginably different from what they are now, and I really do believe they've lost their way a bit. Not as much as the political parties - can you tell I don't trust anyone in public life? :D

Anyway, have a fantastic time! Good luck in Austria.

:rotfl::rotfl: to dogs being knocked into canals. Now if it was a child I would say he was a ruffian. A dog......well its just character. Moo loves his bandana, when I get it out he holds his head out to put it on. some piccies on FB if anybody interested or in his own little blog place

KC, thanks for that. I totally agree on trusting public people or not as the case may be. Strikes are very subjective. Being true to your roots, as far as I am concerned, is being true to yourself and not to what is expected of you because of where or who you came from. I do believe that you should respect and honour where you came from and remember that but why should you do what others did?
Do what you've always done, get what you've always got so true.
