Not yet, getting ready now...and I don't do monsters !Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0

I have just tried phone thing at my local store. Bought a Motorola, the discount didn't come off. Went to Cs who said they could only give me £20 as it was a coupon discount. I argued the toss and sent for the manager who took half an hour to arrive. She refused to give any more than £20 as she said the right price £59.97 had been charged and the discount of £20 hadn't come off the end. I took her name, gave back all my shopping and said I would ring head office.
What would you have done?? Help. It was quite scary.0 -

Am currently waiting for manager to confirm with head office that ive been mislead, and thus overcharged as ive not had the saving that they quote.
The lurch is right as regard the consumer act, they are commiting an offence all the time this does not add up. Customers are not making the saving and are thus paying too much. They should remove the wording regarding the advertised saving or reduce the bundle price by £20 -

Part 3: Price indications which become
misleading after they have been given
3.1.1 The Consumer Protection Act 1987 makes it an offence to give a price
indication which, although correct at the time, becomes misleading after you have
given it, if:
(a) consumers could reasonably be expected still to be relying on it; and
(b) you do not take reasonable steps to prevent them doing so.
Think this covers the innacurate saving on the xbox bundles perfectly
When they asked which retailer I was talking about ,I said tescos, she laughed and said they have a separate dept at trading standards who just deal with complaints against tesco!!
O.K. now Tesco's reply to that will be something like "We are selling at the price advertised" i.e. the SEL or the price on the box, so no overcharge. Even if they do say that the fact is that they are *currently* falsely claiming that by buying a bundle you can save x.xx on the price of buying the console and game separately. However that was before the reduced game price. Is the fact that you expected to save more than you did enough to warrant an R&R even though the box price and sel price are what you are paying?0 -

Could you go to HO straightaway with this rather than argue instore first? I think I would rather deal direct with HO on this one - only thing is it wouldn't be my first time speaking to HO.0 -

Dont think I have the nerve to try this one. Its not quite as cut & dried as the previous console fiasco. Saying that if a few people start to be refunded it may snowball like the previous console offer.
I have seen the offer in numerous tescos.0 -

Im not sure if contacting HO too often is a wise move. If they start giving away consoles again I would expect them to try & take a tougher approach to people who have had refunds before.
Im keeping my head down on this one. I dont really need a ban as I do quite a bit of shopping for other people who cant get to the shops themselves.0 -
I don't know about anyone else, but I am a tense as a coiled spring waiting for people to post their successes with the new XBox error. Good luck to those who are going on the hunt!DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0
